Stupid questions about Online Games

Greetings Exiles,
So I freshly started playing online recently and got so many basic questions:

  1. in game, where do I find the PING?
  2. how can I tell the SERVER TIME?
  3. do I get to know how many players are in the server and how many online atm?
  4. is there a list of all CLANS on the server?
  5. why some player’s name and clan is HIDDEN?
  6. how do I know who owns this building piece in front of me?
  7. I find some “public” benches that everyone can use. How is that?
  8. If I have a dancer, can I make him/her “public” too? ie. entertaining everyone

That will be it for now.
Have fun

Press the INSERT key on your keyboard to open up the Unreal Engine 4 console.

Type:

ToggleDebugHUD 2

and press ENTER to display some server information.

2.) You can’t see that.
4.) No
5.) Because official server settings. You can see them when they type in global chat.
6.) Repair Hammer
7.) PvP server ?
8.) It is automaticaly public. Everyone gets entertained.

Thanks for your answer!
Emm, Not knowing anything about my enemies? Cruel world!
And I can’t see the server time? Then how do I know it’s raid time or not?

Yeah, PVP server, public benches.
However, other players’ dancers don’t entertain me when I am near by. I am watching a dance performance through a window right before me, not entertained.

easiest way to work out server time is google your servers location, then before you think its raid time, punch the wall to ensure no damage, then after you think it is raid time punch it and check for damage.

that way you can be sure.

Entertainment buff is a proximity deal, just because you can see it does not mean you get the buff if you are out of range.

Maybe it is not actually a dancer using emotes you can have a fighter dance and now with Sorcery give them a set of redeemed armor that looks like a dancer outfit. Sneaky. @demonado

Yeah… that’s a tricky one. And it looks like so. Thanks for the tip!

It’s been a while since I’ve played so this might have changed.

But you didn’t need a repair hammer for #6 you could just put the reticle on the building and press the tab key, it would tell you ownership and display the decay timer and HP of the building piece.

I hope that this hasn’t changed it was much better than lugging around a repair hammer.

That’s been changed, good buddy. There is no Tab press for tattling any longer. Tab has by default replaced the Inventory key, and even when mapped away from Tab, the old functionality is gone.

Press L or go through the main menu to see the player list. Whether their names are visible depends on server settings.

no.

Sounds like you are on pvp server. It depends on server settings. They become briefly visible in the playerlist when they type on chat.

Equip a repair hammer and look at it close range. Or check their door.

They always do that anyway. They are always entertaining, regardless of what emote they are doing.

Thanks. Been playing some time, gradually gettting used to it.
The PVP settings does well in protecting player’s “privacy”.
Just that you have to learn everything in this world through chat is a little weird

This is not so accurate…
I play on Playstation and even in official servers some people can hide their identity on their builds. I don’t know if it’s a bug or intented cheat, but I’ve found so many “no owner” builds all these years that makes me wonder. I do understand how expensive is to do such cheats in Playstation consoles, @Barnes tried to explain to me many times. Then again there was a theory that if you don’t have a clan then no ownership appears. Yet I find several times players from great clans entering in these buildings :smirk::thinking:. Bug??? Cheat??? I still cannot figure out that’s for sure!
@droch-aon, happy to see you around, really!

It’s likely just a bug, likely lag related. I’ve gone entire sessions with my own building showing no owner while still being able to actively use all of the placeables, doors, etc.
