Can we please have more building defenses and defensive weapons (ground defense (think grease as an example). We all know the scourge of being offlined (PvE being purge obviously possible) while away from the game (hence offlined).
This has been the subject of many posts in the past. What I am proposing more defenses in general as being offlined is only one issue in combat really. Some examples to start (unless noted otherwise these would decay like builiding peices, though may still be able to be used inside other players landclaim (very limited to specific items for obvious reasons.) :
Wall polishing (makes center building pieces be too slick to climb (easily). Now obviously not all building pieces would not be able to have this for possible balance issues, but I think it could help in general.
Caltrops - Theses were used in history to hobble just soldiers in battle, but also horses and beasts (dogs mainly). I think Conan Exlies pvp could benenfit from these as it would allow more defenses for unmounted combat and for making traps against mounted players.
Attachable armored plates for Walls and other buliding peices (Before suggested by fits here too) - These armored plates would allow more resistance to specific damage types (projectiles, fire, etc).
These defenses would also help in active combat as well and not be limited to offline protection. These may also help solo or small clans defend against superior numbers.
Can anyone else think of any ? More ideas to add to defenses very welcome !
Thralls that dump boiling oil would be nice. Thralls that don’t line up and and crowd in one place to die. A short patrol would be nice though I understand that requires pathing.
Foot traps that decay super fast.
Bombs that are relatively dirt cheap in time and materials.
Player number that far outshadows superior position (solid walls, guards, and towers (high ground) ) .
I think main problem is bow. The snipe ability needs to be removed, this is main problem because some will shoot out ai range. Max ai 50 meters yet snipe is 4 times that.
Fix bow it’s sad weapon that only hurts pvp and pve.
If fix the bow where forces player to be in archer range then it’s one step closer to be more defendable.
No and unfortunately they are part, sort of, our dwindled supply of antipersonel traps and snares . I wish the traps had much longer decay timers on your own landclaim and not all did damage to your own stuff.
True trap doors/floor pieces that collapse on contact with unfriendlies, allowing you to drop them into a room filled with unclimbable walls (fenced off) or thralls or palisades or whatever devious devices you desire.
Boiling Oil converted to hold a thrall (any worker will do) that automatically dumps oil within a set range. Manual control still remains if desired.
Wall or Foundation reinforcements that fire darts that cause either bleed, poison, or cripple at unfriendlies in a given range.
Problem is, mines and leghold traps are fully visible. They’re not really worth the cost to make versus the damage they inflict.
Now, if they were hidden from enemy players and did inflict damage that justified their cost things would be different. Leghold traps would be useful if they actually stopped npcs and players from moving for a fixed amount of time instead of just doing some pitiful amount of damage. Then you would be able to combine these with gas mines to crearte a killing zone.
