Suggestion on the Map Expansion

I believe there are ways to add new zones that do not lock players out of them. It could be as simple as prohibiting non “DLC” players from building in new areas.

I see what your saying, but I really think they can make adjustments that allow building permissions. It can’t be that difficult. Especially if they are making a whole new area.

My answer is simple…
New Map Funcom?! TAKE MY MONEY! YAYS!

Payed map is more likely be better quality then a free one. I’ve said it before I’d pay for a new map, or hardcore map with new rules. (as mention in weekly question thread)

P2w is always weird term…since some people treat any payed content as p2w…

New map (considering load times for dungeons) Should be its own start point. Or mid size area we visit.
Alot of choices for it.

Expect… thats worse case, and something that could be patched if it got abused. (if they even let it happen)

Its not a real concern to me… Its not a perma issue, or a good reason to not have it a payed dlc.

I want a quality map… not some free 20x20 thing I’ll be down with in a week… I want a another decent large map thats gonna waste year of my life exploring nocks and crannies. And I go back to forums to be like… I need a new map again. XD

this one? they talk about the current dlc and not about all upcoming dlcs

all i have found so far are statements that they only plan cosmetic dlc’s. plans are there to be changed. a plan is not a promise for eternity.

My point is that this could split servers and cause issues with the people who have the cash to pony up and folks that don’t. It may cause people to leave the game. I fully agree that the folks at funcom deserve to get paid for their efforts. I’ll probably buy the expansion when it come out so I can play with the cool kids in the new sand box.

Any map expansion, whether it’s a new biome or an entirely different map, is going to stretch the population thinner as there’s more space. Some people will stick to the old map where they have their bases, others will move on to explore the new places. Whether it’s paid or not decides whether everyone will have a choice to make, or only those with extra money. A free new map would see a larger-scale migration, which would risk leaving the old map empty. That, in turn, could make the game less attractive to new players who’d start at Noob River and see no-one else around because everyone is playing in the new map.

As for “having the cash to pony up” - it really depends on what the expansion is going to cost. If it’s something like 20 to 30 dollars, well, it’s not that much. Maybe not trivial cash for someone who might be unemployed or otherwise poor, but considering how it’s potentially hundreds of hours of play time, there aren’t many other forms of enjoyment where you could get the same amount of hours to play for the same amount of money. Anyone could save that money in a few weeks if they want that DLC.

No and no! I’ll buy DLC, build my base in a cave that you can’t get into - and start raiding you and being safe in my base…

I act a little “funny” this story of “who has no money to spend”, we are not talking about basic food for low-income families, we are talking about electronic games for people who have video games or computers and internet access, or or we are not talking about a super poor class in general.

I always see this kind of conversation, there are people who won’t be able to buy, these same people are wearing designer clothes, I don’t see people starving playing games online and without money to buy food, or to pay a few dollars at their leisure, these the same people who would not have money pay NETFLIX, go to the cinema, subscribe to cable TV, pay for fast internet … for all this she would have money, but to pay for a new map NO, is it?

I don’t think companies should be abusive, but at the same time I am fully aware that it takes MONEY for things to happen, I bought Conan in 2017 3 years ago, and during those 3 years I bought all DLCs, and not because I liked them, but because I am aware that the money I paid there in 2017 is no longer valid for the game and it really kept adding new things, I have 3,000 hours played in this game, which gave me more than 3,000 hours of entertainment? nor NETFLIX that I pay monthly.

Then funcom comes with the proposal to debut a super expansion, just like many companies do and charge for it naturally, and everyone thinks it’s normal, I don’t understand why with the specific Conan this story is going on “I WANT IT FOR FREE”, yes do you want it for free and who will pay all the work ?, your purchase in 2017 to 3 years ago? would that money be paying interest and earning? in 3 years salaries were paid and bills … as well as servers … I reinforce again, I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF ABUSIVE MONETARY PRACTICES, but I am also in favor of recognition, if a game that you really like, that really causes you feeling that he deserves to get paid for his investment, and you really get something relevant for that, I didn’t like the old way of DLCs, I found him totally lazy and unnecessary, didn’t add ANYTHING to my game, and if I pay and does funcom really give me a DLC that I feel “prestigious”, as if I had been investing in my entertainment and not only helping the game and buying nonsense? it would be amazing and funcom would be more able to create new things that are really relevant like a new map, SINCE THIS MAP IS CROSSPLAY with the existing map, I stress that, I DON’T WANT to play a new game, a new journey … that be an extension of my journey.

Well, that’s it, I believe that the expansion will be a success, that it will sell a LOT, I believe that 90% of the players will buy, even the “without money”, I just hope that funcom really uses this opportunity, the acceptance of the community to this and next paid maps will TOTALLY depend on what funcom will present, I hope they are ready to surprise us, because disappointing will be devastating!

Sorry bro, but we just dont wanna spend money for broken game, thats it.

Then you don’t buy the new map, it’s that simple. Whether it’s free or paid, it’s going to be equally “broken”, whatever anyone means by that.
