While we are comparing potatoes and oranges with different toppings, can your Teimos beat my RHTS?
I bet your Teimos would curl up in a corner, sucking on his thumb and call for his mommy
One of the reasons Teimos was at one point considered one of the best thralls has to do with a couple of things that no longer are the case. Iām not going to go into stats much since thatās been done to death in this thread already.
First reason was location. For many people the Jungle provides an ideal location because its off in an area no one goes. Its not near major resources, its not considered a prime building area. So if youāre on a competitive server, your chances of being messed with are lower simply because no one wants to bother. Teimos was a decent enough thrall and in the area.
This led to the second reason. He was a guaranteed spawn. There was no RNG. When it was time for him to respawn. He did.
Finally he used the Black Hand exp table which meant he leveled up twice as fast as the top tier thralls.
But pound for pound, was he the best comparing one thrall to another? Even prior to the nerf, he wasnāt. But he was good enough. And combined with the fact he was always spawning and was easier to level made it a very desirable thrall. Youād fill your ranks with Teimos untill you could slowly replace them with Dalinsiaās. Which could take a while.
Then he got nerfed. Or rather fixed. He had Black Hand exp tables, but not Black Hand modifiers. So they fixed him to have his intended stats. As otherās pointed out, theyāre not that great, especially in the damage department. You get decent health, because heās still an elite (tier 4, or named). But not much in damage (Black Hand is anemic).
Not a bad newbie thrall. In fact if youāre in the neighborhood, I could even recommend that. Though Iād prefer a Tier 3 Bearer or even Named Bearer (if you can find one). Bearers as tanks are the best. They have the most HP and with 5pts in Authority, will hold agro. Because you can load them up on Armor, and their bonus health from Vitality is so high. Getting a 9-12k health or more is common.
RHTS have sort of replaced Teimos because they are also guaranteed spawns, and multiple spawns at once. You can nab like 3-4 of them at a time. They also make the best Zombies.
Letās go into stats a little bit. Something to explain this comment:
The intent of Funcom is not to hide these stats. But the reason they exist is because the thrall system is tied to the NPCs. When you get a Dalinsia you get her plus the stats you see. In the wild, the NPCs do not have any strength, vitality, or any attribute. They receive these when you place them.
To make a thrall hit harder, like in the case of a Tier 2 hitting harder than a 1 or a named hitting harder than a non-named, or even a Black Hand hitting harder than an Exile. It uses the melee and range modifier. Which is what has been discussed in this thread.
They retain this modifier when they are broken. Why? Because the thrall system didnāt originally account for attributes and leveling. To change it, they would need to make duplicates of every Dancer, every Bearer, every Fighter, and every Archer. Thatās a lot of work.
Its not outside the possibility, but its definitely something on the back burner compared to new content like Sorcery, Golems, Dungeons, and other content. It might be something being held back for if they ever do an Age revolving around thralls. Because if youāre going to redo a system, might as well put the extra effort and do it right.
Right now its not an idea system. I have suggested in conversations that they should just change the modifiers to 1.0 across the board. But was told it would make NPCs like Cimmerians and such not as much of a threat, and Exiles and other low tiers a much greater threat. It would imbalance the two maps.
Take what Xevyr has said as near gospel on the subject. He has delved pretty damn deep into the tables governing Thrall attributes. Not only has he ran the tests, but he has been able to make alterations with predictable results.
I think I posted this under bug reports my badb FunCom.
That is like totally impessive. As I said have never tested the RHTS. like killer stats. So I think I will go to that next. like REALLY 96% str to dmg. lol frig. very very cool. As I said Iām not trying to be confrontational. And thx to all that have replied to me. I think Iām just like stunned after that pic of the TH. like really FRIG HOT. thx guys.
And Taemien. very very good analysis thx U.I will only add this. pre-nerf my Teimos lost anywere between 7k-9k hit points when soloing the arena champ. like sh sucked like hardcore. But since the nerf of thralls, my Teimos can take her down befor he loses 6k. So must be SOME positive around that, right?
Frank, you need to watch more anime. I am terrified of little girls now.
LMFAO lol. like yeah we like the same movies.
So this is like getting off topic, but Iām waiting to see season 16-20 of Bleach.which has been held back due to Covid. so Iām told. lol
This community is like totaly special. we can argue, we can disagree. but in the end I respect all of U. Thx guys.
No - āhe hits like a girlā is from knights tale" Am I correct? lol
To make one point clear: Teimos still is a viable tank. He still is relatively easy to get. He still levels very fast. With good perks and equipment, he still kicks ass. Itās just that pure damage output is higher on RHTS, Cimmerian and Volcano thralls.
Curiously, lower-tier thralls can have similar or even higher HP pools than Cimmerian and Volanco thralls, with espeically good/sh⦠rolls even a RHTS. So, on an individual level, from a pure tanking perspective, Teimos and esp. Black Hand thralls are good tanks.
Some thralls seem to have higher HP ceilings than others in their class. I have some Black Hand thralls and a single Accursed thrall that seem curiously tough. So⦠some more testing, maybe with a fresh view, is welcome.
So⦠good conversation. Letās go kill some things.
ROFL on the godlyvoice. and thank U for even considering and except Teimos in the top 5. Like very fun and exciting to hear that. RHTS I will go further and tst HTS. Never have used them in the last 2 yrs. But I wonder how HTS will fair with the Identical build? Like I said Teimos is nothing without that build. so does the HTS still have like the same stats. I donāt know. PLS keep in mind, going head to head with the identicle stats. like who wins? granted there are like totally better builds that can destroy Teimos. without a doubt. I only push Teimos in the ālime lightā if using that build. Like I have said. Teimos like completley sucks outside of that build. I think u may agree with that yes?
COME ON ITS Gotta be Knights Tale right
Come on dont leave me hanging. Like knights tales right ROFL
If tanking is the primary reason for someone to use a thrall. Bearers are the best. Not any of the fighters. The amount of Health granted from Vitality to bearers puts them consistently into the five digits of health (10k+). Couple that with epic heavy armor loaded with bulk plating can have them tank just about anything.
The only encounter that gives me a pause with that setup is the Arena Champion. She has an enormous amount of Armor Penetration (if not 100%) which favors doing as much damage to her as possible in the shortest amount of time.
One of my tests with her involved 3 zombies each over 10k Health and they died within seconds. But its for that reason I donāt even recommend using a thrall against her. Set a bedroll nearby, tell the follower(s) to stop following, and solo her a distance away. But this is the only encounter in the game like this.
With everything else, the high health of a Bearer just has little contest. Things like Siptah Vault Bosses, Red Mother, Dungeon Bosses, World Bosses, and even most of the Savage Wild Leviathan bosses (think Exiled Lands top tier bosses made into recommended Group encounters) can be tanked easily by a well equipped Bearer, even without Authority (well you need 5 for the taunt perk).
The only boss I donāt recommend is the Snake Leviathan boss in Savage Wilds. As it has enough health for its poison to wreck through tens of thousands of health over the course of the fight. Its doable with a thrall, and I highly recommend using a tanky thrall here if soloing (its designed as a group encounter). But youāre going to need to tell your thrall to stop on occasion and pull agro yourself so stacks of poison can fall off and let them heal a bit.
Of course if you go the bearer route⦠all the damage has to come from you. They have heavy penalties to damage so they hit very lightly. I recommend using a weapon that puts a dot on as dots arenāt affected by the multiplier.
This accursed you have is it ulric?
There was one in the video I made aboveā¦
Iāll add Bloodmoon beast to the list of ālets not throw away good thralls on this thingā list. It is unkillable in Kurak dungeon (if you dally around too long, causing it to spawn) and itās one hit death move is a bit mean. The Same beast at Pools of the Grey Ones can sometimes do a one hit insta death, which I believe I reported on a while back.
For Arena Champ I think the safest best is just to bring a katana, what it with those nice stun lock light attacks and then walk circles around it to recover stam as needed. Easiest thing ever. Make thralls go passive and sit in a corner to watch. I do the same with Bloodmoon beast, but with a bow now. Just pew pew pew as I walk around it in a circle. The Artificial Unintellegence knows now how to hit you this way.
Yea, found out the cause of that But it was probably too late to be included in the last patch
