Because it is a chore…an agonizing chore that makes you sad as you log into the desert.
You realize you need sorcery to get blood crystals. You don’t need sorcery to get thralls.
I don’t want golems to increase in power. I just want the ability to repair golems.
Well, no, I don’t think you do. If you know where the spawn points are, you can just walk up to them and they should pop out of the ground on their own. Sorcery just helps you locate those points and tells you if there’s something down there at that moment.
Plus you can always just chop up an existing golem, like in Kurak’s dungeon for example.
Which would be an increase in power, though a somewhat indirect one.
Just for the sake of accuracy. The incent burning golem gives buffs. That would be another pro. I still hate them. They are too high fantasy for the game.
By your logic then thralls, weapons and armors are op. Thralls can heal two ways. Thralls can have armor over 700. Thralls don’t lose durability on weapons or armor.
Crystalline only. It loses 5 inventory slots to burn.
Not so. Adding repairability to golems being an increase in overall golem power does not translate to thralls being OP in any way.
Lotus burner is iron tier actually which is why it only has 10 slots. And it has a little less HP and armor value compaired to a regular iron torso.
Not a fan either
but the part I hate most about them is actually a technical one…
They seriously can’t walk… and it’s making me wanna gouge my eyes out whenever I watch them… it’s like their walk animation is playing at 5 fps
taking short “blinks” instead of walking…
If you’ve played world of warcraft… then their walk reminds me of how the ethereal walked there, except for them it looked cool, here it looks like you’re lagging even when you’re not.
Can’t make lotus burner.
Repairing golems wouldn’t make them op. The devs lack a proper way to fix crystalline golems. Since their whole repair stuff is base on repair kits and having to know how to build the item to repair it.
I already mentioned that one of golems weakness is slow response and walking speed.
Most of you are forgetting Alpha clans. Clans that are 10 or more. Official servers are 10. 26 Hours without a task master to get 1 T4 thrall? So that 10 for Alpha clans. Resources nodes takes time to respawn. In a week an alpha clan can have 60 or more thralls. Even more if they get a T4 taskmaster. That with only 1 greater wheel of pain. Alpha clans have more than one greater wheel. Alpha clans can train more thralls. 3 hours to max 1 thrall. Alpha clans can do that with 20 thralls. 9 hours and 60 combat thralls are max out.
Can’t make lightning rod heads or exploding heads or radium heads either. They’re still iron tier or less. But what does that have to do with anything?
Have a compromise. Place a just blbroken T4 named in the Goluns inventory, and it gets 3x atts. Just make it a Mech ![]()
Yep. In agreement.
Though I would love my toaster or garden mower or chainsaw to never break down or wear out, I suspect things would go really Terminator-bad if they did not have effectoive ‘kill-switches’. At the very least, they create a wonderful market for pop-up ‘Get Your Golem Fixed Cheap’ shops. Perhaps some swappable limbs like a broom, etc.
You only highlight one thing. How would repairing golems make them op?
Are you on a pvp server?
If they were in this game they be repairable like in rust.
Golems are not Thralls and are kept distinctly seperate.
Where would the incentive be for getting pets and thralls - whether pvp or pve? Golems are hugely overpowered, but naturally have their version of kryptonite. I would look forward to other forms of golem - flesh and creature-modelled. I seem to remember reference to flesh golem crafting in R.E. Howard’s compendium, but possibly not.
On PvP I have already seen players placing almost exclusively golems. No food needed. Maxed out. Barring That stuff, hard to smash to bits. A great look and combines area damage, etc. They could effectively break game balance I imagine. On PvE they are more for the ‘look’ than much else.
I remain in full agreement with golems getting neither XP or being repairable.
Low damage, slow response speed, very slow walk speed and the harvest less than a player with same tool. Max armor for a crystalline golem is 640. Max armor for a thrall is over 1000. Thralls don’t suffer from durability lost in weapons and armors. Thralls have faster response speed. Thralls have faster walking speed. Thralls can be equip with master armor penetration kits in their weapons. With heavy armor fighters out last most things.
Golems aren’t op. They are underpowered. The 20k health is ONLY a FULL SET of Crystalline golem parts. Iron Golems are 14k. Iron Golems have less than 500 armor. Stone Golems have 9k health. The special heads and incense torso have less health and armor than their default counter part. Golems are melee only. No range support from golems.
Golems are always level 0. Golems have 0 in all stats.
Guess you never heard of attack and run. Or for bow users climb up high shoot arrows at golems. Golems aren’t a challenge in PVP. Their slowness is a big weakness.
