Testlive Patch (22.05.2020) - Followers re-balancing, Avatar fixes and more!

My guy. Im sorry, if you’re still using starter gear at end game, this isnt the games fault. Come off it. Im guessing you have a Darfari witchdoctor because you have the black dye, so you have some decent thralls. Without starmetal weapons(for whatever reason), dragonbone weapons are a great alternative.

run around naked in the unnamed city and collect the fragments of power and turn them in for recipes for actual weapons like venom infused.

This is a dreadful representation of why you think thralls should be nerfed.

I am not intentionally being rude, friend. My issue is the spreading of misinformation from someone who has already said they have not tested the patch.

The only thing I see here is this guy moving the goal post to justify his argument. He uses trash gear, calls it his end-game kit and even posts it online… Using the words of Dark Souls devs, Git gud.

This thrall update currently on Test is awesome! It will no longer be Thrall Exiles.

You’re in the worst armor in the game and with subpar vitality to boot. I don’t mean to be rude, but bosses are too strong for you because you’re in no way or condition ready for them. That’s not on the game to carry you through fights you’re far from being ready for. Epic armor doesn’t take star metal, try to invest in at least that.

That is your statement in a direction though, you’re saying you dont want this to go through.

you havent experienced anything from testlive though.

Put more into strength. Put a kit on your weapon. Invest in debuff weapons like daggers.

If you don’t have at least rank 3, you’re not doing it right. Where are the rest of your points if not here or strength? Did you know you can make a potion to reset attribute points?

Killing a players thrall with 13k hp and 1200 armour takes longer than any boss in the game. And we have MANY to contend with.

Why don’t you? Building more heavily into combat and less into other things is much better when you’re actually focusing on combat, and then change the stats whenever afterwards

I do not think this will make a difference. What is in testlive will be patched. It is clearly another yield to the online pvp community. Playing testlive and giving feedback has been futile for some time.

Yes it is. It’s been reported for xx months now but still hasn’t been fixed. It perplexes me what has been prioritised though.

Agreed. I have more teapots from the red mother than legendary items. Not impressed by grind
disguised as game content.

It’s the same old story but from new faces. The squeaky pvp wheels get the grease.

As has been suggested many times but is always countered with:

Or something similiar. The same old sidestep with nothing of substance.

All of you are being rude and attacking Shadoza. You have not understood (intentionally or not) what he has said and your responses reflect this. Are you using critical thinking before responding? Your responses are attacks not thought out arguments.

I’ve fought against concluding that Funcom doesn’t care for communities other than PVP but it’s becoming more obvious over time. DLC is chucking the lesser communities a bone and I for one am finding it insulting. It’s interesting though to see that from a commercial side, more money is probably generated from the non PVP community yet Funcom keeps treating those communities with less respect.

Ok, soooo lets go back to December 2019, when the thrall leveling patch came. Or a little bit before, when the dev stream about it came and Funcom told us, they thralls get signifcantly stronger.

There my opinion was: Why? They are already strong (see videos from the past).

So at least, dont make lvl20 thralls stat & dmg wise worse than legacy thralls!

To balance PvP: 2 ideas

  1. have a general setting, that thralls DMG VS human players and set it to sth PvP are happy with. But this would also make base defending worse - like current testlive nerf.

  2. the other idea would be: A thrall who follows you + 5-10 mins after it (cooldown phase) makes lower dmg against human players. So base defending would be the same and PvP with thralls would be more balanced.

For PvE: Correct me if I am wrong, but I think all bosses are single-target in this game. So a new weapon-type or attribute, which you get only after lvl60 (or can craft then).

Boss-killing weapons. Work only against a single-target. So if you fight against a group and lets say, you got a bosskilling 1h axe or “enchanted” one (oil, kit, etc), your swing attack only dmg the first target it hits.
And whats making the weapons special? We introduce the good old: Critical hit chance mechanic with this “boss-killing” weapons (again). So somtimes they make great dmg, but not on every hit.

Also lets say, the weapons you “enchant” with dont lose any durability when applying it, but cannot be repaired. So that you dont run around with boss-killing weapons clearing ALL PvE content - or if you do it, it will costs you many “enchantments” and legendary weapons.

More I cannot come up with at the evening and also my job is not game-designing  Do you have any better ideas, except nerf thralls?

My idea for PvE wouldnt be a major buff for players, so that PvP is again un-balanced. But simple NO changes for players (weapon-wise or anything else) and just nerfing thralls = make the player heroes?

Bro, we’re not being rude. Shadoza has not even tried the testlive. Feedback here (as stated by @Ignasi above) is for the people who have been on and tested the patch.

your entire post can literally be boiled down into “pvp bad. pvp player wrong. funcom wrong. mumra smart.”

@Shadoza is entitled to give feedback without trying testlive. He has enough experience in the game to form intelligent decisions. My point about testlive still stands.

Your response in nothing short of what I expected.

Like ignasis said, take it to general.

human-players = player controlled humans. Not human-npcs.

Take what to general? Your inability to have a respectful discussion with people about the patch? Or your determination to shout down anyone with an opposing view? Look at @Entropy’s post below yours.

You all are giving me a good laugh though.

You clearly have no input on the patch so just stop

I do have input on the patch and have been giving it. Just because I disagree with you or you with me doesn’t mean it’s not input. Now you are telling me to stop giving input. Why?

I am happy for anyone to give input as long as it’s constructive and not just shouting down other people.

Hmy guy, I’m not shooting anyone down. I said his comment about bosses taking 40 minutes was a dumb comment. I gave him advice for him to improve and help him in game. Text is not an easy thing ti understand emotion. I didnt say experience was moot. I said it didnt help in an environment they have not been to. If you mistook it for bullying, I dunno what to tell you.

eri the ravager, hoth the venomus, tma the slithering are almost always up in the volcano, every time I got to the volcano there is always one of them up, however their spawns do vary from the open volcano area or the dungeon entrance,

I want faster thrall leveling and a resurrection system.

The fighting system can be pretty janky at times including the Purge.

Thrall nerfs are a Band-Aid fix to a fighting system that needs much more attention tbh. Things do not always play out as they should.
