Testlive Update 2.8 - Discussion Megathread

while i agree on that one, the fps issue in mounds that was introduced by removing the indoors rain, is pretty game limiting at times

Is this a mounds only thing? I’ve been spending a lot of time in the jungle and haven’t noticed any FPS issues related to rain/no-rain and outside/inside.

Do you have any buildings with roof pieces that would block rain? Because it seems like people have been running into frame-dropping when they are around that mechanic.

its good that they are blocking foundation stacking inside the game.
Any chance to block the other ways of stacking Like, cellings?
Or is celling stacking allowed?.

Also, unrelated to the patch, but any chance to nerf drawbridges HP? or the way structures are repaired during an attack so you can’t just instantly repair a estructure to 100 % in 1 second?.

Would ceiling stacking even matter when you can just go through the walls and gates normally?

Some spots in pvp are better with just using ceiling as a defense, no walls, gates or doors, just ceiling and one elevator its all you need.

i know a lot spots where you can put 10 layers of ceilings before reaching your core, and not even speaking of using a god bubble there where you can’t throw explosive arrows, trebuchets or gods.
so yeah, ceiling stacking could be as strong if not better than any other defense besides drawbridges.

I assume with most caves being blocked that it’s not as valid or easy to use. Give them a few more version numbers before they figure out how to block ceiling stacking too!

Yes. I explicitly built my base in the jungle because they fixed this issue.

Which ones are you interested in?

Is the SIFT emote supposed to be NPC thrall only?

It doesn’t appear on my character, but now that I’ve clicked on it twice in the Unnamed City, it appears twice on my thrall’s misc. menu, but neither worked.

And they don’t have my “By Yog” Worship option? But maybe because that’s not a loop?

That might get annoying to figure out if it is Pet only, Thrall Only or everyone all?

I think that’s really good, valid, feedback for them.

The removal of fence stacking kinda is a nerf to drawbridges already because it’s not gonna be possible to fully block of the gap anymore which allows people to place bombs behind the bridge and kill the person repairing

The new thrall emotes are pve 100%, unless I get some kind of buff when fighting in front of my cheering thralls lol. So a purely pve addition makes my opinionnof dev priority intact,
PVE
RP
Modders
PVE-C
PVP raid.
prove me wrong.

Not necessarily
I would wager you get enough of them juggling, you lag out avatars just like witchfire torches.

I’m hoping that because of the hp of tiles is significantly less than fence foundations that they do not stop ceiling stacking
removing that would make an entire build style in PvP worthless
treehouses would be nerfed to the point of pinatas

Yeah
I have a reverse Apex in a temple. Layers of Anticlimb and snake arrow archers on the sides. One way in. Leveled undead at the bottom. Can’t treb, can’t avatar, arrows only and good luck.

Please make it a config option for unofficial servers to continue allowing fence stacking. This is a core building design in the game as well as other games on how to best layer in the minimal space.

Raiding in this game is already so quick, removing one of the best ways to layer is only going to result in raiders being inside your base faster than you can get back to to defend it IF you even know your under attack

Bad enough we don’t even have any form of notification you’re being raided, now we can’t even make it take longer and more resources to hold them back longer?

I’d say removing PVP abuse mechanics counts pretty high and makes PVP higher up that list.

Seem to be getting fatal errors very frequently inside the storm on Siptah

Uhhhh. Cinematic everything. Max FOV. The only fps drops I have are from your mods, because I love what you did with the visuals. Before those it was always at or near 60.
