wtf is grip?
can u talk like normal and stop speaking in 3rd person?
Itās a typo. This one meant grit. This one also wonders if youāre mentally challenged or just an imbecile who canāt understand what this one meant through context?
Tankbuilds have been around in Conan Exiles for a long time. Before the toxic spear, hit and doge crowed came along, it was a very viable build in pvp. I have seen some pretty op hammer players but its problem with the build is its lagging mobility. With good team play you can negate the effect by alot and you can become a pretty heavy warhammer guy. But the true strength of tankbuilds come into play when your not fighting on open fields but in closed areas. Its a pretty need build for raids, where people have not much space to fight or where a lot of thralls are around.
The problem I have with the hardcore pvp players is that they forced their playstyle on anybody in pvp over the last couple years and therefore errased every other viable options. They litterally killed every other build on the field with their agressive open field oriented playstyle. Nothing against SirDaveWolf or others here, but their way doing pvp is very creativeless. They only win and profit from their builds because Funcom never managed to introduce a good and balanced fighting system in Conan. Prior 3.0 run, hit, dogde. After 3.0 run, hit, dogde. All the hardcores did after 3.0 is finding a way to play as close to what they where used to before the update. And they managed.
Until today I lag the ability to take any hardcore player seriously. Once they start talking about beeing āgood experienced playersā aka āProsā I start laughing so hard I almost p myself in the pants every time. Pvp in this game is so simple and so one sided. To talk about having skill in a game that has such a flawed fighting system is like a hen bragging about beeing able laying an egg once in a while.
Your whole post @Winthor ā¦
I just couldnāt say it betterā¦
Merry Christmas m8, thanks for trying to understand at least my suggestion here. If you ever find the opportunity, itās just a dragonbone build (very cheap), please test it. Not for me, i am done from pvp, even if iāll get a ps5, i am not going back, i have enough of it! Cheers
Thereās always going to be exceptions and there are.
It isnāt the playersā fault that Funcom programmed the game this way. That people find metas is inevitable.
Grit just wonāt do we what people think it should.
Happy hollidays to all!
A pro is someone who earns his living playing e-sports. There are some fantastic players who arenāt professionals, but when putting food on the table deppends on how good you play, things gain a different dimension. Conan is not a game designed for such end, by many reasons.
That said, Conan is not built to support classes in the usual sense. So, you can develop a tank_like character, but not an actual tank that is meant to stand heavy punishment, as such character doesnāt exist, it canāt exist due to game design. You can obliterate any build pretty fast. It doesnāt matter how armored he is or how high his hp is, because itās never enough. The game doesnāt allow it. The difference are a few hits. I hope you realize this. You donāt need a spear to send a tankish player to his bed. Any weapon will do, as long as you keep yourself more mobile than him. This is what determines who wins a fight. As you donāt need a lot to kill ANY player, not mattering the build, your focus is always avoiding damage, not absorbing it. HP and armor come second, they are last resources when you canāt avoid being hit.
Unless Conan was played by idiots, someone was bound to find this flaw. Thatās why pvp is all about speed and stamina. These are more important than damage output itself, another important factor. The katana became a problem, because it could cause such amount of damage that it made this factor superseed mobility. If you got hit, you would be dead, or very close to it. To add misery to despair, katana builds are also highly mobile and agility boosts its damage.
Now, you can complain about the reach of the spears, but do you think this is why mobility matters the most? It isnāt. If the spears are nerfed, another weapon will take its place, or a few weapons, but the basic principles of pvp combat will remain. They are inherent to the game.
The tank role, in this game, is fulfilled by thralls and zombies. Compare your health pools to theirs. And you might think, oh but they are dumb. Yes, they are, but their hp is so much higher that they can actually function, if only briefly, as damage sponges while you will use your inteligence to avoid damage. To beā¦ mobile. Because you know you canāt be a damage sponge. You never could. The little bit of tankishness you gained on 3.0 was countered by the higher dmg output we also got.
These new builds were massive to pve, not pvp. On pvp, nothing really changed.
I donāt mind testing your build once I find a server with people who want and know how to fight. The kind of opponents Iāve been getting fight so poorly you can get away with anything.
But once I find a decent server I will test your build.
Stelio, it wonāt work. I can try to be creative with it, but if my opponent is good, Iāll be slaughtered. Good thing is that itās cheap to make, so Iāll have a few ready. But I promise I will try and will do my best. Iāll consider it a challenge.
Merry Christmas for you and your family!
We both know that isnāt the case. If my opponent is better than me, Iāll be slaughtered anyway. But with your build it will happen faster, unless thereās something to it Iām missing. Your build is not news on pve, as you imagine. So, I know what it can do. But it has severe weaknesses for pvp that I donāt think can be surpassed. Fact is that heavy armor is not a viable option and the hammer adds more problems to it. But I will do my best to work with it. I know very well the animations of the game by now, and how to explore them. If the opponent also knows them, Iām basically screwed and canāt do shit about it.
Well, @stelagel I still have to lose a single fight on pvp. If it is as easy as you claim to find someone better, I should have lost at least one by now. Oh, I will meet my match one of these days. But it hasnāt happened so far.
Youāre but hurt because Iām not agreeing with you, I know. Iāve seen this before. But thereās a reason I survived events that sent you to your bedroll 3 and 4 times without me even sweating. You might want to think about it.
To be clear, without too much damnable expository monolog, that one has achieved both a character of feline felicity, and a nuanced sense of aloofness that is most desirable considering that oneās abundant wit and wisdom. I say, I say, to call it 3rd person is most unrighteous!
My dream, as a PvP player, is for guarding followers to repel enemy players during non-raid hours.
My favorite fighting game is Virtua Fighter, known for its insane key combinations to create perfect combat, flawless victories, and astonishing pawnage for thy opponents. You can fight like a drunken master, a brawler, a magician and more. That was the framework. My kumite, as it turns out, is Mantis.
Now I donāt know MMOs from a carburetor, and nor did I when Conan came along. However, when I saw Character Creation with different sects, it gave me hope there was at least ROOM for specialization. That there would be people who use a mallet, some who use use a bow and knife ā nope!! Theyāre all pickers and pokers, just like me.
Itās always been about reachy reachy, piki piki.
Jesus, are you drunk or something, @stelagel ? Iām remembering a surge where you died four times dude where I didnāt die once, for instance! You kept dying, it was almost funny. I tried to cheer you up. It was on our last Siptah playthrough. Or the purge where you were running like mad through the beach and I didnāt even know it was you.
Dude, you are revealing yourself to be much different than I thought. I am not lying. I just think you believe you fight better than you actually do. Dude, you know maps, recipes, everything about locations, a lot of very useful tricks, etc, etc. I always praise your knowledge. Always. But combat wise youāre good. Not great, but just good. Now, you are judging my combat skills without ever seeing me fight on pvp. Iām judging yours based on our experience together on pve (that I loved,
btw) . Donāt lose your marbles Stelio. You know that doesnāt work with me. I never claim to do anything I canāt prove with a clip. You should know that by now.
So, get your act together. Itās me youāre talking to.
They donāt exist. Console has died a lot because of many reasons. Privates really donāt exist. There are a couple eu privates but if you donāt have 4-6 ppl youāll just get dumped as many of them just revolve around brimstone fights.
Hence why a few of us were trying to push for official āblitzā servers to come back. It would make fighting more of a viable option rather than running away and hiding everything. Pvp is stale at the moment and needs a revamp at least for official servers.
After seeing the sights, I couldnāt agree more, @Capt_insano0 .
Itās stale and people are playing pve on pvp servers.
Maybe the good fighters moved to other games, because when you get more bored on a pvp server than playing pve, something is very wrong.
They are playing player vs base. There are still some good fights to be had but like I said if you donāt have at least 5 ppl you really canāt find to many fights.
Hmm. I get the gist of it. PvP players are running to servers with heavy pve. Weāll probably see more with character transfers, but for now, canāt blame them.
Iāll try to find a clan, but with the ToS people are very weary about accepting strangers.
Well the tos is a major factor most severs are dead but I digress. Look for a clan just starting out on a server they will be more trusting of a new person because they have nothing to lose
Yeah, Iāll send a few msgs and friend requests, because we donāt have a global chat on consoles. Maybe I get lucky. They just need to be online. I must be careful myself so I donāt get banned because of shit they did!
