What works for me when this happens, is backing up the game then completely deleting it from the PS and reinstalling it

First posted July 2025. Currently mid January 2026. 6 months with no reply from Funcom. Could this be the longest non-response from Funcom.
If it is, it is not a record I would be proud of.
How long does this last. Do you do this every time you shut down.
Once I delete and reinstall, I have no more issues for months. I think it helps having a fresh install because all the updates are under a fresh install

I’ve done this and it doesn’t seem to work on my PC, sadly….
Steam shows the game running, and the process is running when checking with Task Manager, network also shows still connected. Sometimes (not always) after a loooonnng wait it does stop. But when quit the game it is normally to switch off PC.
PC / steam users. Test what happens if you “disable” Funcom launcher. Copy paste this into Steam launch options:
Right click game on library. General tab. LAUNCH OPTIONS:
“<replace with your game directory>\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe” %command%
Where to find directory: Right click game on library. Manage. Browse local files.
The launcher has nothing to do with it, I don’t use it on my main rig and still get the bug very often unless I play very short sessions.
I have a machine I use less, where I didn’t disable the launcher and it makes no difference to have it enabled either.

Just tested again and, while it was very slow to shut down, it did eventually get there on its own. No idea why it would work for me and not for others - I bypass the funcom launcher, but we’ve already eliminated that as a difference. This game is weird.

Nope - there’s a bunch of bug reports I provided in June 2025 (several with videos and detailed reproduction steps) - not one of them was even marked ‘report received’ they were just alloowed to close without ever even being acknowledged. (The ones from May 2025 were marked report received, so that appears to be the cut-off point at which they stopped bothering…)

Still no responses huh? Stinking shame. I really love CE and now my server won’t connect to itself either. Might as well take down the official servers Funcom and close the doors.
