I’ve played this game off and on, but there is really one thing holding it back, servers. I’m sure this topic has been covered prior but I’m going to say it anyways. I play on PS4 by the way.
The official servers are a mess, huge tracts of land walled off, even walling off access to dungeons, resources, etc. It’s to the point that official servers are unplayable, be it pve, pvp, or pvc. If you don’t either start policing your servers, or maybe limit build size on official your game is doomed.
Ok so play private servers right? The issue with that is rampant admin cheating and who knows when the server owner will tire and simply turn the server off, or ban you because of your base being in a spot they now covet. There really is no stability in playing on private servers.
So what’s left? Single player mode, which really guts half the experience, Conan is meant to be a shared world game.
In short, your inability or unwillingness to police your own servers is what puts a choke hold on your games growth and sustainability. I enjoy the game, start playing, run into the fore mentioned issues and just simply quit. At this point I don’t even know why I come back as it’s just more of the same.
