Apparently, you haven’t played Fallout 76. In this game, the presence of a huge number of events and different recipes does not prevent you from selling in Atomshop (analogous to our bazaar, a bunch of things, and even a monthly battle pass. And many pay) I judge this from my friends, who play there.
Yeah never played. Heard a lot of great things about the game though.
I just feel like Funcom would prefer to keep EL and IoS separate for now.
Events are possible through. Sounds like this teaser is bringing back the Caravans.
Sure, people have voiced displeasure with these types of things. But like you said it’s not against the rules, it’s frowned upon as not “fair play”
But then let’s take it a step further. Is it “fair” to have a ten man clan attack a 5 man clan? In the game? Yes. By societal norms? No, it’s not fair to fight a smaller opponent.
So what then? Should we look down upon those that pick on smaller numbers? What about skill level? 10 highly skilled people vs 10 brand new players. Is that “fair”?
At some point we draw the line, and I’d say a rule set would be that line. Forget how things function in society, when you play a competitive game, you play to win. Even if that means ranking newbs on the river.
I like that idea!
Age of meh
Age of [enter mod name]
whatever
‘we are working on …improving…Also we are…some bug fixing…player experience…’
Same speech, same words, same promises since May 2018.
If I remember correctly from the army, soldiers count on a 3:1 advantage when attacking a fortified position.
Fair fight sounds chivalrous but if you get into it in real life you’ve done something wrong.
Age of The Deep, give us under the sea fun!
Yes, that is a good winning strategy…which actually reinforces my point.
Iv been wanting deep see stuff in this game for ages or at least some sea type creatures piranha’s, sharks, krakens ect added to the rivers or sea dungeons.
And you know having 10 vs. 5 is not a guaranteed win either.
The 5 person is able to participate and defend, they’re not taken out of the equation with obelisk load times, offline raiding or spawn killing.
Some people might disagree with you on that.
Kinda forgot last season ended… trying slowly crawl thru new system.
Not happy with it… who ever decided crystals can’t be mined should be fired. I get branches and stones… but crystals… really.
Still hoping for Age of Dinosaurs… judging by some of Season… something from Deep.
Still want some dinosaurs… or “Yog is Coming” idea… I guess we kinda passed that one by now.
Jag one so far has been kinda meh… 3 claws when you need 1000. -_-’
I’ll try my luck: “Age of Domination”
Why?
There are several hints for an “Age of Gods”. The Jebbhal Sag event, reviving characters, the currently somewhat lackluster religions. But anything regarding religion is potentially controversial and doesn’t necessarily appeal to everyone.
So, I’d guess some marketing guy or gal would be against that title. And marketing usually wins on such things.
Thralls are also something one might pick as a theme. However, “Age of Slavery” or “Age of Human Trafficking” might also be seen as controversial by a small minority of people.
“Domination”, however, might be a 2020ies-Snowflake-compatible way to describe the same thing (“That’s about the PvP part, where real humans annoy other real humans, not about slavery, where humans enslave virtual fantasy characters in a fantasy setting, so that’s totally okay!”).
That title would also allude to the original marketing, the PvP crowd and people interested in, a, what’s the word, BDSM, which also fits quite well with the setting of well-built half-naked people hitting and torturing each other. “Sex sells, baby!”, some 25 year old marketing intern might yell with a sheepish grin.
If anything is done about thralls, such as reviving them or having mobile crafters, that would be enough to justify the “Dominiation” theme. The Age of War brought a tavern system and a hunting event, so they’re apparently not forced to stick very closely to the age’s title.
I’ll wager 1 Age of Conan gold coin, if anyone is willing to bet.
It’s as I’ve always said: Fair fights are for people who are willing to lose half of the time. And don’t expect your opponent to follow the Marquis of Fantailler’s rules in a street fight.
That said:
“Fair play” is nonexistent by design in a game that is won by having more time and more people than the other guy. That’s why I didn’t want to discuss what is “fair” and what is not.
My point was in the part you left unquoted, ie.
It goes beyond the concepts of fair game and unfair game if one party doesn’t even get to play the game.
Not expecting anything along these lines, but I would really like an expansion that just focuses on a new map.
A lot of what keeps Ark going is the wide variety of maps with different scenario/conditions.
The core map is a good “vanilla” experience, and Siptah really should bring back wild surges….but a new map entirely?
I would love to explore the Vilayet sea….so a large ocean with medium sized land masses.
New mechanics? Floating platforms, rafts, boats, threats in water. (Why don’t crocs chase us in water!?). Maybe “dinosaurs”, maybe an underground hollow earth kinda thing. Localized storms/waterspouts.
A lot of Conan stories take place on/around boats/islands, so the lore is there.
I’m not know sure what, “scenarios/conditions” means. If it’s in reference to missions/quests, then asking for new maps won’t likely happen. One thing Funcom has shown with Siptah is they are going to focus most of their energy on developing the vanilla map. They’ll include new mechanics like sorcery, purges, etc, but new Siptah lore just isn’t going to happen.
I agree with this 100%.
It seems there are already floating bases in game that make PvP difficult, so I think floating platforms would wouldn’t be well accepted. Besides, what lore would support it? Rafts and boats may or may not be possible. It depends on how much strain the current game engine is under to keep everything going. This, not to mention consoles being capable of running these new mechanics.
Age of Waiting another 3 months.
war never ends…
Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.
