The teleport is in a relatively unremarkable location and about a year older than the new base.
It’s not in that place by accident , on the contrary it’s in a place where no one has ever built for years and that’s why I chose it.
Yeah, if it could be disassembled as a maproom without losing any material, I’d consider it.(if they would ask nicely)
but like this?
You say make friends and make room…
But what about them?
First they blocked off part of mounds of the dead , including completely blocking the road from mounds north to temple of frost with an incredibly ugly base.
and then they expanded further, around our teleport and surrounded it with a wall - that is simply NOT an attempt at friendship, that is a declaration of war on PVE.
Dude, some silver bars are no big deal, i bet you got a gazillion in your chests, to do what with them?
Make the first step and show them that you are better than this, above, make them feel embarrassed.
If they won’t feel embarrassed then they are jerks, keep them as away as possible from your gaming time, simply avoid them, don’t throw boomerangs, you never know which side you look when it returns.
I don’t care about them, but for you.
I have a friend, a Greek friend like me, that he plays exactly the same way you do (which is respectful).
He gets upset when he sees people trying to enter his base, or they sleep in his stairs and sometimes exactly on his front gate . He starts worrying a lot for these situations…
Don’t do this. It’s a game!
I always leave all my doors open, i don’t care who comes or don’t, but guess what? Nobody comes, nobody blocks me, yet even if it’s going to happen i will leave before you understand it…
I play to relax as a guest on Funcom servers for free.
We all have the same rights, even trolls!
That screenshot doesn’t really show me anything, and as you stated it is an older one. I can’t comment on this specific case. But if things have changed since you last reported that building, then I would recommend you create a new report.
Building infractions are a very complicated matter due to the freedom the building system affords players. We handle them all on a case-by-case basis. What is unfair to some will not be to others. It’s also important to remember that player reports are not what we use to determine whether or not to take action. Reports show us where to look. It will be up to Customer Support to determine if a rule is broken and what type of action will be necessary.
Server moderation is never going to 100% please everyone. We do what we are capable of and we try to promote gameplay that we feel is healthy. If you do want a more active presence or a different rule set, then private servers could be a viable alternative. We appreciate feedback regarding official servers moderation and are always willing to review our process and procedures with your feedback in mind.
I don’t have the desire or the energy for that anymore, I guess we’ll just have to stick it out and in the meantime I’ll have to figure out how to get him to the teleporrt and then to our base if I want to capture a Cimmerian in the Mounds.
because that’s what the teleport was always about, and that’s what they’re blocking now.
The easiest solution would be to move your build to another location. Yes it sucks, sure you were there first. But waiting for Zendesk to handle the situation on a single tele stone seems pointless.
Great explanation as to why we need an automated system. What we have now is clearly is not working.
I would quit the game if you could find a public server with out half a dozen ToC violating builds, and I mean obnoxious, no question about it, can be seen from the moon, violations.
If I operate a server enforcing the rules is my responsibility not the players on my server. All I see here is funcom doing a great job of shirking their responsibility of moderating their servers. Not my job to moderate your server.
Why do you deserve to have a moderated server? You didn’t pay for access to those servers. They were offered free, complimentary with minimal conditions. You are not owed anything. They could at any time turn those servers off and then forbid the discussion of them from that point forward, and they would be in their right to do so.
You have the ability to play Singleplayer, Coop, and providing for or renting your own server. That is all you are entitled to, Nothing more. That isn’t even a matter for discussion, that is simple fact.
They are responsible for offering or not offering services how they see fit. With as as much or as little support to the players or even no support. Heck if they want to abuse you on their servers they may do so as well, and be righteous in their decision to do so.
When you play there, you agree to play by their terms. You agree to moderate their servers if they want you to. You agreed to that when you created a character. Deacon you literally said “Funcom, I will moderate your server for you, I will do whatever you want me to on the server, I will put up with whatever nonsense and be HAPPY to do so.” You said that when you created a character. To say otherwise is nonsense.
Don’t try to retain any dignity or pride now. You gave it up already the moment you started playing there.
And funny how doing so makes you a villain, doesn’t it?
If I’m hosting a server it’s my responsibility to enforce the rules, not my players. If funcom doesn’t want to properly moderate their servers then close them. They’re giving the game a big black eye in many ways.
Because you want them to close them? You don’t get to decide that. The server owner decides if their server is up or not. The server owner decides what rules and how they are enforced. The players either agree to how they do it when they play there, or don’t agree by not playing there.
You want a server setup how you want.
You want a server moderated how you want.
You want a server moderated by people you want.
You want you want you want.
But you don’t want to make it happen yourself, you want others to do it for you.
That isn’t how this works. When someone sets up a server and makes it freely available, they alone get to decide how it goes. No one else.
I have a RP PVP server that’s been going for over 3 years now, and strictly vanilla. In kind of a lull currently as our regulars are playing other games and waiting for consistent population again. We have fluctuations like this over time. I do regular sweeps and require discord in order to communicate any issues that may come up.
you can still build a way, even if it is some work, elevator can go through a landclaim you simply need to have a building of you from the start point, and another building that you own for the end point, and elevator will be happy to go over the other guy landclaimn well if nothing has changed, but two - three years ago it was working
But still, they encourage suggestions and feedback.
So when a community member visits our topics to give us “lights” and explain situations, before everything yet above all, the least is to start saying…
THANK YOU @Umborls…
and then continue our conversation, if we wish, to the foundations of his guidance.
I have more things to trouble me however now. Unfortunately.
So Funcom created a Zendesk department, for the free servers. This department has obviously huge work load especially with the mistakes updates bring.
Don’t get me wrong but, thralls problem, report to Zendesk, crom coins problem, report to Zendesk, crash problems, report to Zendesk, nemedian foundation issues, report to Zendesk and numerous other tiny or greater issues… Report to Zendesk!
And now… The job cannot close “fast” because it needs permission from another department, the costumer service.
Don’t get me wrong, but guys we need to think a bit and chill to help a bit these people. We are thousands gamers from each console and i bet they are not even 10 on Zendesk department.
Other than that there are way more serious problems they need to hunt, track and stop, than building violations. For example hacks and harassing, even stalkers that the female community of our game may stumble.
All these serious matters are priority and the only way to have solutions to them is to stop demanding from Zendesk to find solutions to things that we can fix on our own.
So, report, yes it’s your right, but only when nothing else worked.
And an anecdote we say in my country.
God came to earth to visit his children.
He went to Germany and asked a cow farmer what he needs.
The cow farmer said, it would be nice if i had a couple cows more, so God gave him 2 more cows.
Then he went to France to a lamb Sheppard and asked him what he needs.
The lamb Sheppard asked for a good strong male to create more lambs, so god gave it to him.
Then he visited Greece, a donkey master and ask him what he needs. Without second thoughts the Greek donkey master asked from god to kill the donkey of his neighbor…
What is pictured may in fact be a land claim violation. Experience has taught me not to take a screenshot as proof. I would certainly be happy to look at this if it still exists on the server in that form. But I would stop short of saying this is definitely actionable.
Private servers generally run circles around official ones in terms of performance and bugs. It’s such a drastic difference that you feel like you’re playing an entirely functional game.
Now ofc there are also plenty of bad ones (most of those also rented from gportal lol) and there are ones that have less capable admins or just abusive ones etc.
So it’s a bit of a hit or miss but if you manage to land on a hit, then they’re way better.
