The Warmaker’s Sanctuary (Disappointed)

Just an FYI, the Bandit Leaders weren’t removed, but they were nerfed. Grab Erii or Kisthis from the Volcano. They’d love to give you a hand. After you beat them about the head for a while.

I also posted some tips/suggestions over in the “players helping” section of the forums, just based off my personal experience of soloing through it.

Direct link to the post below, but it does have some spoilers.

Curious. What was the specific thrall you were using, and how much health did he/she have? For myself, I used Erii and had him in flawless Cimmerian Steel (heavy). He was using Telith’s Sorrow (2H) with a damage mod (no, Crom does not love me… yet). He never really got into trouble, but I did use some healing arrows now and again just to be on the safe side.

As far as I knew, they are no longer able to be captured.

Does it have a video?

The Bandit Leaders can no longer be knocked out and broken on the wheel, but existing ones weren’t removed from the game (they didn’t expunge them from the database like they did previously with some of the others). Instead, they nerfed them. So all those folks who were furiously gathering as many of them as possible before the update are likely experiencing disappointment with their life choices.

Bottom line, even if you still have a Bandit Leader thrall, they aren’t what they used to be. The “go to” tanking thralls are the T4s in the volcano.

Sorry, no video. Just words and some suggestions.

That’s my point.

You said “Anyone have a video of them soloing them new dungeon legit (no god mode, bandit leaders, or anything else no longer obtainable in the game)?”

Bandit Leader thralls are still “legit”. The devs intentionally left the existing ones in the game, you just can’t get new ones. And they were nerfed. So if you’re using one, it is legit, it’s just not optimal.

“or anything else no longer obtainable in the game”

FYI healing arrows will work in combat. You may need to spam a few around the thrall though, it’s not unusual for them to get knocked back out of the “cloud”.

My point is simply that if you’re still using a Bandit Leader, you’re not doing yourself any favors. But whatever gets your motor running. As soon as I saw what happened to them, on the trash heap they went.

Or perhaps more succinctly: if you’re watching a video with someone using a Bandit Leader and not a volcano T4 fighter, you’re watching someone make the dungeon harder on themselves, not easier.

That sounds like something went sideways. My thrall had zero problems tanking any of the bosses, or being healed. I was playing solo, standard setup on the Xbox (so no mods, no weird config options.)

She’s my constant companion every where…
In epic flawless Hyperborean of course.

You never know. The game has so many bugs, you can’t really tell when one might pop up.

It’s not fair to say the game is easy to complete while showcasing a so-called easy run if you are using something that is literally unobtainable by people who don’t already have it.

Fair enough. But as I said, Erii or Kisthis will get the job done. Their 7.5K (or so) health is more than enough of a comfortable margin for them to do their thing.

I got that. I just want to see someone actually running it with them. Every video I have found has been a cheater with god mode turned on.

Yeah, I’ve seen a couple of those and the ctrl-delete (or whatever) insta-kill bonanza. Of course, not really possible to do it “for real” in 10 minutes, and that’s already asking a lot of most folks’ attention spans.

I still run with a Bandit Leader. My mate has a relic Hunter Treasure Seeker (7500ish hp) I have no hard numbers, but they seem pretty equal damage wise.

I was in there with a few friends and we became separated. About this time my Captain in Silent Legion with a legendary helm and boots that are better than Silent Legion and an old style Crom sword with 127 mod DPS decided to go toe to toe with the Champion. I dont know if he glitched and stopped fighting or got stuck in a corner, but she beat the living heck out of him in a short time. I had to run and pull him with me to save his life.

This Dungeon is not for Faint of heart very rough solo play…It was designed for a group of players to explore. I had a great time designing this dungeon with Funcom. Sorry you feel the way you do. I suggest you play with friends as it makes for a great experience.

:grinning:

As a solo player you have the possibility to take a strong Thrall, well equipped with high end weapons and armor, who will clear the whole dungeon for you. I watched a video on YouTube where a solo player just did that.

Yes @Shadoza - but the Thrall seemed very op to me. You know I am not a fan of such op Thralls but it seems to be possible. Unfortunately I can’t give you a link anymore.
