I have found running them into camps is the best way, especially desert area. the palisades do give bleed. And can get a horse stuck pretty wuick in between them and the tents. Fun times watching the panic
Also, if you are in a group. spread out and try to circle. Most start to try and chase and group up during the pursuit, which makes it bowling with horses. Well timed dodge works as well. So bait and let the others attack as it comes thru. You know, use strategy???
I have used the cliff jump and grab, then watch the horse jump over me and land below. Then i just stay on wall, climb to a resting spot and decide whether to attack or get away. I will only attack if where the horse landed is in an area that is not wide open. Then i have the terrain advantage. Expecting to win when standing in the wide ope against a horse is ones own fault.
