I am getting sick of successfully being able to kill my opponent, and not to be able to equip the gear I earned.
It is very frustrating when u get lucky, you kill someone that is better than you. U hit F to pick all of their loot, and the items are greyed out. I cant equip the item because it is skinned by a bazzar / game pass item I don’t own. I don’t mind not being able to craft those items, but If I picked them up by winning a fight, I should be able to wear them regardless.
I believe you’re referring to actually crafted items, not items that are re-skinned. Re-skinned items can still be looted and used. What you’re asking for is the ability to use an item that someone paid for, which is a different argument altogether. A blood crystal mace and a momentum re-skinned as a blood crystal mace are two completely different things. The momentum can still be used, but the skin won’t show.
It wasn’t there. I knew folks that could craft the Day 1 exclusive stuff and they didn’t have tons of requests or anything like that.
Why?
In fact due to meta dominance in PVP, I actually question if this is really a thing or not since meta gear has very rarely been BP or BLB items and if they were, then they were quickly squashed as P2W items and you are back to the standard kit again.
These things are more requested in PvE, so I imagine op is in the minority here when most PvP players are more interested in meta over “looking cool.” I know I’ve had players craft day one items for me because they look cool on PvE. The Atlantean sword is still just a star metal sword. It offers no benefits.
I would think its all about money. Before dlc and day one edition sword, others who cant craft it can use it too.
Now you have to spend money and own the recepie.
But the issue is, even, if you want to spend money. Most things aren’t available to purchase at given time.
I would buy something that I can make and share with others way before something that Its only for myself.
Atlantean sword is a very nice looking sword and having ability to make it for others, gives it a much greater value.
That being said, you can’t illusion the Atlantean sword or the royal armor without knowing it. So if want someone to put it over a piece of equipment, they need to do it for you.
Its not about PVP or PVE. It’s about, if I won the fight in pvp, what ever gear I collect, I should be able to use. It’s like, I spent all those healing pots and a lot of labor to kill X player, now I cant hear his helmet/ gloves/ blablabla because they have a skin I don’t own.
Mind you, I am not doing PvP, but I do purchase from the bazaar and still agree with that statement. You should be able to loot and use the gear of the one you killed, regardeless of if it is a free item or a bazaar item. If someone else kills you in turn and steal it, then too bad for you, you won’t be able to get it again unless you manage to kill an other dude with the same armor. Isn’t the essence of PvP getting things by killing or raiding others? Or should one start not killing the players who put extra cash in the bazaar, because their loot becomes useless anyway? That is quite segregative.
Hence again, we are not talking about decorative items made to enhance the PvE servers, but about gears and weapons worn by the thralls/players in PvP.
Are there really that many players on pvp that ONLY use the armor and weapons from the bazaar? I can’t imagine only using them so someone can’t have them, especially when there’s better equipment already in game. Equipment that you can still use, even if you can’t see the “skin” on them. Or is your argument that you can’t see the cool looking skin and you’re stuck with the vanilla look? Any “meta” equipment in the bazaar is unintentional and will likely be rebalanced at some point, so none of it should be “p2w.”
But maybe at a low level, that player whom you cross paths with and wearing an item from the bazaar, happens to be your chance to improve your gear at that specific moment? It could also be that your base was raided during the night, and you are naked as a worm and need something quick to wear. It’s all about circumstances there, but I don’t think one should wait to be “strong enough” to enjoy PvP with others, regardeless of if they pay extra cash or not.
But that’s the thing, I’m saying MOST people don’t use the bazaar for anything but skins. All of my armor I use in game is just vanilla… same with my thralls. I only reskin it with other stuff. It still can be equipped by anyone. Unless the player is exclusively using the bazaar items, you don’t lose the ability to equip. And I’m genuinely curious how often pvp players ONLY use bazaar items.
Then if most don’t use the bazaar in PvP, what would it change to allow the players to wear the items they stole? Funcom would NOT lose a significant amount of money, right? I think they need to revise it, it’s just an opinion.
I agree that they should be allowed, but I’m arguing the fact that the OP has stated that they can’t equip any items because they are purposely designed to be p2w and so many players in PvP are using them. That’s not true. Their statements are built on false information and the argument is misdirected. Most players use the skins on vanilla equipment. Not exclusively. And if the OP is arguing that they would like to use the SKIN, that’s different.
To put it bluntly, players cheat. They cheat the game with exploiting and hacking and they cheat the revenue system by getting only one person buying the goods and then mass produce for everyone else. You don’t need it, you don’t want it because of its stats won’t help you in PvP. You want a trophy of how you got around the system and got something you didn’t purchase.
I get it. I’m still sitting on a pos iron age atlantean sword I found in a raid but let’s be clear. You aren’t going to use it and it’s literally going to sit as a trophy and nothing more. Don’t lie to yourself.
This used to be true universally, but these days in PvP (PC and PS*), the pokey things that are most unique are all the rage. Some cheaters have found a way to apply a thing to a thing and make even DLC weps close to par with the best pointy stuff out there. In other words, the meta is shifting more toward Denial.
Says the Barbarian who possesses Royal Armor and the Atlantean Sword. I can go into battle like an underpowered unicorn!
What I really wish is that you can transfer you ownership of certain purchase rights. I know too many old schoolers that quit the game and we lose access to more and more rare things.
Yeah… and the different Stats are unintentional. If PvP players are arguing over looting op items because Funcom messed up with stats, that’s hardly fault of the bazaar system. It’s Funcom messing up and PvP players taking advantage.
