Chat was being spammed with pvp when they asked: ‘‘any questions before we end stream?’’ and they didn’t bring up pvp???
They dont care about pvp. They only cater to RP now to pull as much money as possible before Dune…
I’m curious how badly PVP will get hit now that you can’t steal thralls and eventually the thralls in inventory will eventually be depleted.
Will depend on the individual servers’ culture. I could see how repeated attacks and raids would degrade the amount of crafters on a server, facilitating the need to go get more. Which would increase the amount of players encountering each other. That is actually a good thing.
Whether your thralls were lost due to theft, or lost due to being killed still results in losing them for the defender. Being unable to steal them will affect the attackers motivation to attack.
I can only speak for myself, but during raids in my time during PVP. I was less motivated by taking stuff, and more motivated by the attack itself. Usually in response to actions taken by the offending clan. I can’t really see that changing for those who are of similar mindsets and motivations. If the motivation is simply to steal things and there isn’t anything to steal, they may not devote the resources. ![]()
I don’t really see that as a good or bad thing. PVP is convoluted list of variables that changes from person to person. So any change in any avenue will have that effect on someone.
Isn’t like they were a goal of loot since AoS anyway. In the past 2 years I’d mostly dump any stored save the odd Bladesmith or named Priest. Thralling isn’t a focus either since you can buy most of what you’d need or cheese the purge for fodder.
Not a pvp-er, so I’m asking to get clarification: I would assume that Priests will also need to be placeable thralls, so no stealing those from rival clan Altars? T4 priests needed to summon Gods will eventually be only gathered by your clan, for your clan?
Oh you’re touching on something pretty interesting.
You could also summon a god by initiating the crafting of another clan’s altar, sometimes you’d BYOP.
But not being able to pull a priest? Yikes.
These 2 were used to make or break some wars.
I suppose remains to be seen.
They care about PvP as much as they care about Siptah.
I could imagine clans just setting their now placeable Priest to gaurd inside a locked closet until needed to craft the God token. Leaving it out and walking around all squishy is a bad idea by the thought of it.
Absolutely. You never put the priest on the altar until you’re ready as it is, especially at raid time. Not to mention cheaters.
Having a T3 on the map is asking for it as a rule XD
Thanks for the response, its interesting to see what’s going to be changing on the otherside.
Np
Also bombing an altar with that HP and the inconsistency of the meshes of each can sometimes be an exercise in futility. It takes a lot of time and frustration.
With the functionality of how to summon, as soon as it’s ready the coin is in your pocket no matter you position on the map. Decisions are made often about scouting for where a possible coin will be…
Just some general thoughts on the mechanics.
Interesting. Well, i will be looking forward to reading what experiences and revelations pvpers report here during the Beta period.
Dang that reminds me of when I had a clan member go rogue and wanted to play out a Zath focus. Next thing I know is my clan has a t3 alter up and running on the map and we were in no way ready to war. He did offer to throw spider orbs at the enemy
and I got upset…like really upset.
That was when I self reflected and the final nail in the coffin of PVP for me. I was actively inhibiting enjoyment of the game for my peeps because I was taking it too seriously. Shortly after, I walked away from the play style.
Damn dude, I’m sorry, the game could really get to a person.
It definitely wasn’t anything I’m proud of but d@mn…half my team was prepping getting things done to be primed for war and this guy decided to be comic relief and offered to throw spiders if we did get attacked…I snapped.
It’s so sad for me that this is the truth, Conan Exiles was a true game changer for me in terms of gaming and more specifically PC gaming, I don’t think I will continue owning a PC if this game continues to decline in quality the way it has for the past year or so. Might seem dramatic to some but It’s just my feelings on it and I doubt I’m alone in feeling this way as a few people I know have previously said that the only reason they game on PC is for Conan… Hope I’m wrong and they have something planned for us in the PvP community but atm it’s not looking good.
This one blames Mr Jenkins.
He made that sort of mad charge very popular.
Also, at least he had chicken.
Which is about as much as they care about anything really. ![]()
There were no question PvP. Just two children spamming “Pvp!” in chat.
Like, what question would there even be? You hit each other with sticks, that’s the PvP. Done. There is nothing more to it.
