I’ve had this game for a week now. Payed full price and feel kinda robbed.
It’s so buggy, lag spikes and just strange things overall.
Beautiful game but it really doesn’t feel like they should of released it.

It’s true, before Conan came out I told myself , “no more new releases, no more broken games”, I honestly forgot about Conan. When it came out I watched a few videos and decided why not. This is exactly why not.
i play on PC. if its worse on PS4 then RIP.
i can play the game with the bugs and all, and im truly having a blast.
however, its not the right way to release a game well knowingly that it has a ton of big bugs on their selling points, building and the thrall system.
i play pvp yes.
and i climb a lot so i see many problems related to climbing.
ferrying thralls with a leash tends to fail roughly 40% of my times, somehow.
building big bases i also see extremely many situations where you cant build a specific thing, for seemingly no reason.
I play on PC. I play on PvE. I’ve played with mods, I’ve played without mods. Every single bug he listed happens, and some of them happen quite often. If you haven’t experienced many of them, consider yourself lucky.
The post you responded to in the Legion Armor thread was about people in SL not bringing bandages. That comment was questioned, and you responded with your data about Bandages stopping Bleed. The direct implication was that bandages were needed in PvP to stop bleed effects. Bandages are not a practical means of doing that unless you escape first, in which case the bandages are a moot point.
Yes, I am quite aware of that.
Someone said bandages should stop bleeding, I pointed out that they do. The end.
Should have read the entire post, then you could have made an informed response.
However, I will speak to your comment anyway. I am not sure how that is fortunate? You pay for an incomplete, clunky, malfunctioning product? Well the Devs love you I am sure. I am on the other hand think we (I am guilty as well, not holier than thou here) need to stop enabling this and hold off until they get it a lot closer to right.
Deleted. Rather keep opinion to myself.
Thas less the fault of the developers, and more the fault of ‘the money’.
Take MMOs for instance.
You don’t see many new ones anymore because for a long while every single one of them ‘failed’. They failed because they were pushed out to launch by impatient investors. Investors that don’t understand gamers, what they want and what they expect. They also didn’t want to understand that a fresh launch MMO is like a base of a game. It’s a starting point. They all expected base MMOs to immediately start churning out profit similar to World of Warcraft, not understanding that it took blizzard years to reach 12m pcu and the accompanying subscription income flow.
Same story, today, but for all games… Not just one genre. It’s investors and top brass in publishing companies that are ruining the game industry.
Amen to that, absolulty the whole industry is run by the money men, thing is its always been this way. Just look at the whole Atari ET scenerio (god I’m old).
I do enjoy this game, and like @shadoza i havent experianced any of the game breaking bugs. Not sure if its due to having a larger HDD, swapped it out a few years ago, or an older PS4, my mate with a PS4 pro seems to have more issues but again not game breaking or the fact i rented a private server (only 10 slots so a small one).
Throwing hate at the devs wont solve the issues but questions need to be asked about the way the game was released for sure.
Game just needs 2 more major updates : focusing on thralls and buildings , then it wouldn’t feel like a beta anymore
i now that right now killing bosses with exploits really sucks the fun out of the experience but thralls are more important in my opinion
Games had fewer bugs because the entire game was 3 - 6 hundred lines of code. Modern games now can have upwards of 3 billion lines of code. Funcom has never made a game such as this before, they have less than a quarter of the team that larger companies have and around a tenth of the budget. What I do blame Funcom for is taking on a task that was far too large for them. I can appreciate their fervor, but this project is beyond there experience. Cut the servers, revert the game into a singleplayer experience, and focus on maximizing it’s function. This should be what is focused on.
Funcom, I love your spirit, and will continue to enjoy the game. But there is no shame in defeat, my friends.
Cheers.
The point of this thread is that many think the game wasn’t ready for a full release, that it should still be EA. Sure, people want bugs fixed now, but many of us don’t think this game was ready for a full release. Who tends to force games to release before they’re ready?? Why do they force them to release early?? Who pressures companies to give them their money back??
It’s funny some of these bugs have be ( so called fixed ) more then once. Rather then take the time and or listen to people who know how to fix the issues they either do bandaid solutions or just coverthings over. Many times when working with the so called exploit hunters, we found many issues and even provided ways of fixing it. Most fell on deft ears. They spend 2 weeks on a cover-up fix rather then remove something simple.
guys… you forgot to mention tons of “hungry” players looking for new game every two weeks. So you make your money in first 1-2 weeks, or not… that is also the reason why is everything pushed out so fast… 1st impression…
This game is a fu***g joke. I played pve till level 38 to understand the game then switched to pvp. What they tell you and dont tell you are two different things. Spend 10 hrs on pvp, build , invest, enjoy. Get invite to clan, insantly removed from clan and lose all your sht. Do not buy do not buy. Just uninstalled. Full of cheats just like eso.
True… good strong point… I guess I’m a stickler as I like to be loyal to anything I enjoy… was the same with The Division… can remember when it first came out and all the haters were there and player base dropped in the first few months… played it up till they said about releasing Div 2 but that made me sad so I stopped lol. Was about that time that I really started getting excited for this release lol
Getting invited to a clan only to be kicked for land grab and resources is also a pve thing. In pvp you have the opportunity to retaliate by destroying it but in pve… complete oversight. That should not be able to happen in pve. This genre literally feeds trolls and greifers. Sadly fortnite is the only one doing it right. Bases being separate instances and pvp being a completely separate part of the game.
The rumor is the new Fallout will be a survival as well. If so, this game is in serious trouble. Rust Arc and Conan have made the flaws of the genre VERY visible. They have an opportunity while still in development to correct it before the release while funcom and the others are backpedaling. Backpedaling is bad when competition is on your heels.
It’s soooo easy to fix too. Seriously, you have an id linked to the clan or player that owns the property, called the currentOwnerId -that’s how they determine who can open locked chests, destroy placeables, etc. When you interact with the property it checks to see if your id matches that id, and if it does, it shows what you can do with it. If not, you can’t do anything to it.
All you do is add another column to that table that says “previous owner” which is linked to the player’s unique id when they create the placeable. If that player gets kicked out of the clan you trigger a stored procedure in the db that changes the currentOwnerId of those structures that originally belonged to player 1 BACK to player 1’s unique id. These are junior devs we’re dealing with…
In fact, SQL anyone? I’ll f’cking write a brief version here for them:
UPDATE placeable
SET currentownerid = previousownerid
WHERE clanid = {uuid of the clan in question that kicked out the player to trigger this sp}
AND previousownerid = {uuid of the player who was just kicked};
