and speedy feet climb from the moutaineer journeystep reward
yup they read and listen even if sometime it take a lot a lot a lot of time and believing.
How is the damage and dot application on that HA, LA, LA, LA, ect?
Also, do you open with Rolly Polly?
This one isn’t saying the combo can’t be completed, just that the H, L, L, L is now sorta not a good use of Stamina. There are much better ways to blow that much Stamina, regardless of whether fighting a monster or other Player.
In addition, that build is only available in Exiled Lands.
Unless it has been changed (this one did not check yet), Island Ranger Armour is a different stat spread.
And yes, the gear is only icing.
New sonic trailer looking fire
Why is everyone fixated on full combos? You use one heavy attack and you do Bleed/Sunder/Cripple. You don’t need the 3rd or 4th heavy anymore.
There’s effectively no full combo anymore.
Agreed. The only real Combo 4th i used were mace or Ax knockdown. But that was for mobs and getting out of trouble. Not really needed any more with the call for help change.
Knockdown, as mentioned above.
Also, some combos seem to have backloaded damage, in that the final hit is the payday.
Also, Combo Master Perk in Strength
The knockdown seems less relevant in the current layout with the aggro limits and take their turn changes en route.
The backloaded damage however, is an issue, especially in regards to the Perk.
Combo Master should be moved to Grit.
Because no one wants a system like Diablo in Conan Exiles whereby we just throw the one generic weapon swing all of the time. Not everyone plays PvP where they just ‘jab’ all of the time. Combat was redesigned at the behest of players for the games release from the generic back and forth slash system, because players provided feedback that ‘this is a Conan game and it should have good combat’. This sort of mentality is regressionist at best and foolhardy at worst.
But isn’t that how you are wanting it to be? Enough stamina for HA HA HA HA, repeat?
Not I. I find HA, HA, HA, HA to be very, very boring.
Same.
I find HA HA HA HA to be funny ![]()
That is why I feel they adjusted it. Now I feel they are pushing towards a 3 LA and 1 HA attack full combo. Where you use the HA will create variety of outcomes.
Pretty much this. You weave in a HA attack where you can and to reapply your status effect or stack stacks. If you want to stack stacks quickly, then you need to invest in Grit.
Ah the good ol slippery slope fallacy.
Then may I make a suggestion to you all? Simply refrain from using the ×4 heavy combo. You are not obligated to do so. It never ceases to amaze me how because people simply do not personally use or approve of a feature, they then proceed to insist it be removed so that no one else can either. I like most people like having the option to decide for myself how I approach combat depending upon the situation and the adversary. As I often say: the options which presents more options is usually the better option.
No one is saying it shouldn’t be done. In fact I said this:
So you have the option to do it, and its even more effective now. It was buffed as it will apply four stacks of Bleed or Sunder.
But that carries a stamina cost for the extra power.
This is what you are doing now. We are getting a combat feature we like and you want it changed. Me supporting the changes isn’t taking anything away from you. There’s no Thread created by me that says, “Hey remove the full heavy attack combo” and then Dennis saying, “sounds good bro.” That never happened.
But it is also disingenuous to even say the full heavy attack is being removed. Like I said, its being buffed with status effects on each attack. You have the option to still do it. If you make it harder on yourself due to your own ill-informed choices, that’s on you, not me.
Four heavy sequences are high risk/ high reward scenarios to me. I simply do not find them most times to be enjoyable. If you can make them work for you, I have also been able to mind you, than more power to you. I want more options added not less for fighting as well as for other aspects of this game.
Speed and execution, power and precision should never replace one another as they all are parts of a dynamic fight and again in my opinion make for a more interesting and rewarding fight. If one is allow to dominate then we are all left with a stale “meta” on the rails boring fight encounters and sequences.
on a pvp server there is lot of occassion where a full heavy combo sequence is needed, ie in a very confined environnment where people can no more easily move, and also usefull in raiding system to kill thralls. heavy combo attack was also usefull to unstuck yourself when you was stuck in a corner by your ennemies, and was the way to break through and may be survive…heavy combo was also linked to mix use of axe with a hatchet to have special attack whirlwind. all that will be lost because no viable at all no more…
but yes i agree than more the game is deeper and have option and diversty this is good, but problem is when the game direction is going in a way where it will favorite only one way of fighting. that will appear more to a go back to few years ago than to a progression, and that do not create diversity, but reduce diversity. i mean if you want to have something to use heavy combo you will have no more other choice than to use a light armor with stamina buff, and grit specialiation, but you can forget about wearing an heavy armor because it will be no more viable at all.
i mean with specialized armor or grit specialization, you will be able to do a full heavy combo in heavy gear, but it will totally exhaust you and on the other hand a light gear will allow you to simply do infinite rolling in current state, so what will be used ? only light armor with stamina buff, hit and roll, we can already see on youtube of all pvp streamer what will be the meta and seem to be the only viable option to fight.
So, the meta is going from HaHaHaHa, very funny,
To, LaLaLaLa I’m not listening to you, punctuated with a stand alone Ha, to let the insolent worm know how they are esteemed?
Exactly. Diversity in builds is what makes a game interesting, not forceing people into specific stamina builds so they can play the game somehow.
I highly advise Den to rethink his approach to change stamina. Stamina was in a good state and all the negative reviews to the change now happening should show that. Poke and roll was something I always hated. Now we are going back to it.
The same goes for the AI aggro range. Its way and I mean way to low. AI not responding correctly is not new, but with this change it gets highly visible. Taking a walk into big camps as if they are a park to picknick in is the new approach to what exactly?
What changes come next? Do Npc´s then throw their weapons away right at the gate and say: take me, I am yours big fella. If you do not want me I go and kill myself for ya."
For me this changes mean the game is not progressing in the right direction. Sorry Den!
When the update comes out I know I will push myself doing the battlepass and building on my base a little. But other then that, I do not see myself playing. I am not looking forward to this update.
