This is why i think CE is boring

This is exactly the reason i have stopped playing almost completely. I was so bored that i thought i’d return to one of the PvP servers just to build something and pass time but the nonsensity hit almost instantly. I thought i’d get a thrall and since i was located in the jungle i went for Teimos. I knocked him out in 11 hits without any authority points or even depleting the stamina bar. Ridiculous.

Then i broke him in an hour (ridiculous) and noticed that he has 1400+ HP after 6 levels. Teimos with that amount, what have you done to thralls?? It’s the same as the one skull bums along noob river used to have, i don’t even want to know how they are today. I equipped him with a decent 71/10 axe and an armor of 1551 points yet he almost got killed by a coule of T2 and T3 exiles with what, iron weapons and rags for clothing? The game is so off balance…

Now after a couple of days i have a big T3 base, thralls, chests are full of all kinds of materials thanks to the obnoxious 4x rates and i have a load of bombs and weapons that i got just by running around naked in the fortress. Where’s the challenge in this kind of gameplay? There isn’t any, that’s why it’s so boring. Oh and i almost forgot all of the food i get from chests, why would anyone search for the recipes anymore?

PvP is being run down for some reason, i mean even all of the bazaar build sets lack climb proof fences so obviously PvP isn’t taken into consideration in any way anymore. But after ice bridges and flying bats the fences are pointless anyways, i quess. And it really shows how poor the game has become, all of the servers are empty these days. Couple of guys logging in every once in a while to keep bases active. And why would anyone go raiding anymore? You already have tons of stuff thanks to the rates, no point in raiding wheels in search of thralls since no one breaks them during raid hours thanks to the dumbest idea ever, one hour thrall breaking…

Zero challenge, zero interest in playing. The game might appeal to someone completely new to it for a while but they soon notice the same thing.

Can’t argue with anything you’ve just said.

Wait for dune like I am

Won’t be any better, because it is Funcom after all.

I’m on the Dune discord. So far I haven’t seen anything to put me off the game, but not seen anything to value it at more then $20. It’s funcom so I’m fairly sure I’ll get my 200 hours of game play out of it.

I agree with everything you’ve said

A few years ago Teimos was rebalanced to not be the ridiculous thing he was. The volcano population is the hardest hitting these days (Fighters are at 2.51, the Hyborian Fighter III is at 2.16). Teimos sits at 1.30 melee, with 135 natural in the wild armor, where he should be considering his faction. The river wanderers, Ana and the like, are at 2.08, but they also start with under 700 health. So, it is fairly balanced in that you can get a hard hitter early, but they aren’t going to last very long.

If you plan to go after volcano thralls, good luck. Every NPC in the volcano is hostile, and they all hit hard. You can lose a thrall or yourself to crafters if you just run in blindly. Even the archer’s arrows do more damage.

Yes, it took an hour to break your Teimos. I guess you didn’t have a taskmaster on the wheel. It should have been about 20 minutes. With the reduction of the duration that food lasts in the wheel, the old 8 hour breaking with a named taskmaster would be tedious with all the refilling and restarting.

Sure, if your plan is to just hang around the jungle or the river, you can run naked without much trouble. But, up north, it gets more interesting, as it should.

When was the game “challenging” may I ask?
When Teimos sitting at 10k hp almost impossible to be killed?
Or when thralls took a whole night to convert when you were asleep?
Sounds really challenging cos you needed to take care of them in your dreams.

First year. The survival aspect has gotten nerfed over the years.

I like CE some times its boring sometimes its cool, what makes lose interest in the game are the bugs and cheaters, they do as they want on servers, now they are migrating from pvp to pve, exploiting everything that can be exploited, and funcom dont fix the exploits instead they add more mechanics that can be exploited. eg. ceiling exploit, zath orb, and the renctly implemented purge mechanics that allows raid in pve. I considered to stop palying many times but some friends eoncouraged me to continue.

If you find your favorite thrall getting wrecked by a NPC. Us the Truncheon on that NPC and make it your new favorite.

It just feels like official servers cater to casuals which its fine but they should add some servers with default settings for the masoch players. I personally feel like the game started going down the drain when they started tearing apart the survival aspects, like armor mattering more based on weather and biome, food recipes becoming kind useless except for some, thrall’s unique background for some armors being removed.

Yesterday i received a call from one formal employee of my company. He started his own carpentry business . He somehow downloaded a version of 2.4 of Conan exiles and after playing about a month and finally hit 60 he was looking for gold desperately to fix alchemical base and start making epic gear.
I started twitching just to give him a fast guide of dungeons, harvesting points, etc …
His Berserker was lvl 10 , without epic gear, just with a star metal 2h sword, slaying everything in his path…
Of course i saw him the Teimos camp too …
So i find all these complaints about easier game now “false” .
Why ?
I’let you guess!

It does not seem like pvp is there focus anymore. Look at there twitter stuff. Its bazzar, building, and promoting pve streamers.

Yes the game has become too easy with all the superfluous changes they have made. You can now beat the game (remove the braclet) without building anything. Just picking up npc drops will progressivly give you enough to work your way through. Even the sand storm can be survived naked.

You could do this always, even in barbaric mode , check the speed run history of the game m8 . Now speed runs are a bit more difficult because you have to end them with rng hardened steel weapon, not legendary.

Yea Al Merayah is fully pve, definitely!!!

Money talks here, nothing to blame about. It’s best to focus and make money this way than making PvP pay to win content, trust me.

You could always survive sandstorm naked, there were hundreds spots close to rocks that was giving you more than half shelter which was enough to survive sandstorms .Now sandstorms need only full shelter or you get damage. So yes , bandages can help.
Yet when we started the game bandages didn’t had animation, so all that saves you now is the unbreakable healing animation of the bandage. Which can save you from archer attack as well, but i see no complaints about it

Yes, but Teimos is hot garbage now.

Yes you could always beat it without building anything but it required some skill. Now noob river drops steel weapons.

The original post mentioned pvp declining. Thus the mention of looking at conans twitter. Not sure what pay to win has to do with anything…

You can now survive the sandstorm naked standing out in the open. No need for cover.

No you can’t unless you’re lvl 60 . But this was always this way

You couldn’t always bandage your way through a storm though. Now you can.
