Thrall Decay Timer?

Am I wrong in believing that the thrall decay timer resets for all thralls just by logging in? I have (had) 15 or so fully leveled and geared up thralls in a location away from my main base and they all just died… I’ll admit I haven’t visited them in a few weeks.

Is this a bug or are thralls in different areas on different decay timers?

You’re not wrong. Did you check your event log to see the cause of the death? There have been bugs that have caused these deaths. It’s been really weird, but nothing can be done about it.

Yeah I took a screenshot of the log but I can’t upload it. The log shows them dying one by one every few minutes over the course of half an hour or so. It just says “berserker dies”. No reason stated.

Oh, and fun fact: the one golem standing with all of the thralls that were deleted is still there untouched. Fun!

Hmm… that’s pretty odd. There’s literally no cause of death. If they decay, it’ll say “Due to no one logging in for a long time” or something like that. So decay is definitely not the cause. I believe what you’re experiencing here is a death from environmental causes, like lava or something. If it was from a login exploit via another player, it would be due to “character spawn” and if it were an npc of some sort, it would state what killed them. So this is definitely a bug… due to what? I couldn’t say. Sorry. Hope that at least removes some of the possibilities.

Yeah, they were in a safe corner of the Highlands. Nothing around that could have harmed them. PVE-C server btw. I was using this fully maxed group to run level 6 purges and they handled them with ease. Just another nail in the coffin for me, just one gut punch after another in this game.
Anyway, thanks for your comments @jmk1999

Yeah, I completely understand the frustration. A friend of mine on my official PvE server lost all of his thralls to decay (it actually said it), even though he was off for a couple days max. That being said, there are solutions. I’ll message you in regards to it to avoid controversies.

Were they out and about, or on something you built?

People can kill thralls with certain things that don’t show up in the event log.

I haven’t heard any of those reports. The two I’ve heard that are running rampant lately are the character spawn one and the purge one. Both of those state a reason. So if what you say is true, that’s horrible…

EDIT: yeah, thanks for the reminder. I do know the method. Not worth posting here, but it’s definitely a thing I’ve heard about. Still, to do that to 15+ thralls is annoying. If this kinda thing is occurring on your server, either bait a player with throw-aways and see if you can catch them in the act, then report… or the easier thing may be to abandon the server. Though I know that’s easier said than done when you’ve invested tons of time and effort into the server.

I’ve seen a situation where my Golems turn on one of the other Golems for no reason at all. Maybe your Golems killed your human slaves.

Set be with you :snake:

If one golem could kill 15 fully levelled T4 fighters with legendary weapons and heavy armor then they would be the most powerful creatures in the game

This was either a bug or an exploit but either way it’s another devastating loss for me.

I faced the same problem a few months ago.
Then they told me that the fact is that the NPCs died from “starvation”…
Therefore, I periodically run and interact with my guards, putting food in they inventory.
It is also unclear how the slave vat/animal basket currently works - there is no panel with a list of thrals who feed in the radius.
And recently there was a bug when many players’ thrals disappeared for no reason at all. I suffered from this as well.
Funcom are never responsible for their mistakes and do not return/compensate for what was lost!

Thralls do not die of starvation. Whoever told you that was incorrect.
