If you don’t like how powerful Thralls are then you have several options on noob beach.
Idk about how stacked your base is but not everyone has Crom swords and access to flawless heavy armor. Subpar gear make these Thralls very squishy. The “god” Thralls are reserved for end game players with plenty of resources but lets not forget our low level bothers and those of us who have been freshly wiped. Thralls no longer pose a threat to raiders. At least with the arrow glitch I had to bring a shield with me lol.
Sounds reasonable but as it stands players are trash too. Every time I kill someone with trash gear my equipment gets nerfed cause someone cries about it. As this trend continues we will all live on noob beach soon.
If you think Thralls are too powerful, there are plenty of options on noob beach. Oh and you can do what dark souls players do… try a challenge run where you solo the game with no thrall and wield only a stone pickaxe. At least that way you can have all the difficulty you want without bothering the play styles of other players. I would give you a gold star for that AND call you HARDCORE.
There are also a lot of mobile games that do everything for you, sir, you don’t even have to play…
so if you really mean what you said about not bothering the playstyle of other you can take your own advice
@zerog Disappointing. I have thought higher of you but by the sound of it, you have turned into one of those pvpers … You can also play on a private server with settings adjusted to your liking if you want to have it all tough … It is not your game, it is ours and we need to co-exist …
I do not know what game you are playing but my game is difficult, harsh and many many times mercyless but saying its too easy is your choice, throw away those fancy swords you spend hours and hours farming so you have 15 of everything you know just in case one breaks. Put on some light armor go and make yourself a stone sword and go and play.
Stop trying to tell others the game is too easy unless you play as their char you have no clue how others play, some like it hard, some like to build but no every one likes to die every 2 mins.
The problem is some people like to tell others how their play style should be, how they should feel about thrall damage. How about you play your game and stop telling others how to play theirs.
I agree, I do not always take a thrall with me but when I do it better be a bad ass, that is our choice to play the game as we choose.
We have enough nerfs in this game now, it really is time people stopped calling for nerfs and asking for fixes for the problems we have. Thralls are broken yes and yes their AI is crap at the moment sometimes but nerfing them will not fix those problems all it will do is make you hero’s feel you got the upper hand.
I would welcome a move away from super thralls and into more survivability/damage potential from the player character (within reason, obviously).
BUT that would only work as part of an overall rebalancing of content - just making thralls weaker with nothing to replace them is not the way to go.
That said, thralls have recently received a fairly strong buff (compared to earlier) through the leveling system (faulty though it is), and it’s only natural that there will be some jiggling back and forth trying to find the right place for them. So to the “anti thrall crowd” - I don’t think this is the patch you’re looking for, really.
I’ll also say that allowing more viable playstyles is generally beneficial, and for some people, large parts of the game are unavailable without thralls. Whereas you are already entirely free to play the game without thralls if you so desire.
Conan can be played in different ways. I can play it as a warrior, so combat is a great attractive to the game, and thralls should be only a help. But I can play it as an explorer, builder, etc. In this case, I don’t like combat, so thralls should do that work for me. And those ones who don’t like combat, yes, they want one shot dragons, just because they don’t like combat. So the faster and the easier to kill a boss, the better. Once the game allows you to play it in PvE mode, it makes clear they want passive players as well as agressive players. They just have to balance the game in order to give specific players what they want. In my case, if there were no combat thralls, I would never have played the game.
As much as I would love to see a hello kitty the barbarian mod…In reality PvPs difficulty is only Increased by better Thralls. Thralls only make pve content easier. Defense strategy has been hit way too hard without balancing. We lost bubble protection and with it we lost sky bases. We are stuck in caves using honey combing tactics and Thralls. Nerfing Thralls more just makes Offline raiding too easy. It’s the soft PvP casuals that want Thrall nerfs. They expect to come to a new server and fight the alpha the next day. Screw that. You should have to earn your right to challenge the king.
But you have your option, rent a private server and configure it the way you like it, and configure the thralls the way you like. What I’m saying is that OFFICIALS PVP shouldn’t become Pokemon - barbarian edition.
When friends fight over the way they play, I start to feel like this:
I don’t see why Follower Damage couldn’t be set as a separate server value. Furthermore, an additional value for “Follower Damage vs Player” could be kept where it is, because as other experienced PvP players note, where it is now is just enough deterrent considering the low threshold of 55 followers.
But I don’t want to spend more money renting a private server. FC give us 3 options of official servers, I think at least one can be suitable for me, and another suitable for players like you. In PvE we have a ridiculous farm rate. Let us have OP thralls too. If FC knows we are different players and give us different farm gameplay, why not to give us different thralls gameplay too? It’s clear that thralls have different proposes in PvE and PvP. Why keep the same?
Ugh, come on enough with this non-argument already. EVERYBODY has that option, on either side of the fence. We’re obviously debating how we think defaults/officials should be set up.
