Thrall Pot question

If I have a thrall pot on a base does the thrall following me also benefit from the thrall pot and does that following thrall also benefit from a dancer that is on the property?

Dancer, I don’t know. Likely not though.

Thrall Pot, yes.

To be exact, as long as a thrall is within the area of the thrall pot effect the thrall will be able to take the food from it regardless whether they are following you or standing guard.

Entertainers do not affect other thralls.

I’m using thrall pots to this day because of the excessive honex I got and for healing while getting purrrged, and they indeed take food from it, and have the same behaviour as just simply putting food into their inventory manually (so +14% growth change, damage buff and healing).

My problem is that the food from the thrall pot keeps piling up in my thralls inventory and then spoils. They used to take one at a time. Wonder what that’s all about?

What it is about is the thrall pot is a leftover item from an obsolete mechanic that was removed from the game. The fact that it still works at all is more than you should really be expecting.

The thrall pot exists in the game and serves a useful purpose, so I fully expect it to actually work well. It is very inconvenient having to run around and give every single guard food so they can survive a purge. The thrall pot is tremendously useful and Funcom should ensure it works well.

I agree, they should never have messed with it in the first place. It always worked fine for me, lol.

Thrall pot versus porking? Hmm. Need another counter balance on that.

Yeah, seems to be a habit of theirs. They “fixed” fence stacking and now fence foundations are borked for half the sets. They “fixed” thrall feeding and now the thrall pot is half borked".

That said unless it’s changed again in 2.8, it’s OK. Yes broken for RP but for purges or active defense it’s works well enough. Just have a freezer sitting next to it (them) and 10min before a purge event or as a raid onslaught happens, dump a bunch of foods in. When the raid or purge is over put it all back in the freezer and leave it empty till the next time.

So true, however once @Tephra explained me why they pulled it of. But I have exactly the same thoughts about it. Even it didn’t matter anymore, just from pure habit my thralls were always around a thrall pot until recently that they were bugged to remove the food and storing it inside of them, so it was making the effort useless. If I wanted to refill my pots all I had to do is go around and empty my guards inventory :person_facepalming:t3:. So I stopped go out farming food for my thralls, it was totally pointless anymore.
I remember with the old mechanics to feed my thralls special fishes, lobsters, steaks and berries for my vegetarians. I was so happy when a bearer was granting me berry seeds, my compost and flower pots had reason for existence other than decoratives.
I hope one day they will rework this mechanic, it really gives you reason to bond and play more, keeping your thrall and pet feed and alive must be rewarding.

I was tired of 'cleaning out my followers inventory too…until…

…craft up some healing wraps, put that bunch into thralls inventory, then split it to every open box that doesn’t have something handy…plus, you can heal them up easier when they don’t run from giant poisonous bugs.

Just this.
Originally I believe it WAS intended to keep thrall spamming in check, but then you had all of the crying about how “I paid to play not to feed thralls!” whines coming from the trailer park section.

Just another nerf rollover.

They didn’t remove thrall starvation because people whined, they removed it because it was way worse on server performance than they had expected.

If it had worked without any hit to performance, we may not have had to deal with follower limits now (though it probably wouldn’t have made a difference in the long run, it was too easy to feed thralls with beehives pumping out free honey).

Well since they only removed the actual starvation part, and the pots still work and still have an active radius, and still put food in the thralls inventories, then I can only assume that the fact that the few thralls outside the ping radius were causing HUGE lag and dragging the awesome G-Portal servers down. . . .

Apparently you haven’t noticed that whenever FC wants to nerf something, regardless of weather its actually causing “server performance” or not, they use that as an excuse.
The server I have played on since June of 2017, has actually gotten worse since thrall limits and “build limits”.
Are there more people on it now, why yes there are. Does that mean that a G-portal server really shouldn’t cap out at 40 people, why yes, maybe it does. Anything over 10 on my server and the FPS goes to hell.

Think of the server as having to run separate stop-watch for each thrall. Something like that. That was the starvation mechanic. Proximity fields are light, and distributions are a global tick.

Same here… Well, not FPS… but, server lag… kinda feels the same…

Ah the days when unfed thralls would starve and die - that was a more effective limit on followers, as far as I am concerned.
