Too many complaints from pvp players, in my experience pvp players can ruin a game and destroy it and it can slow down and complicate the development of a game and ruin the content

@tuffman and Xevyr

Ditto. Wait for it , time will tell, I can wait, can you ? Food for thought. I wish I was wrong also by the way. I take no joy in point out these facts as the ones you have ignored or better said scorned.

Many people can be ignorant just easily as one, sorry if someone at one time or another told you different. Even more sorry that you believed them, truly.

As you said though. Carry on.

Just to add a minor point
I play exclusively on pvp servers and have bought armours weapons and the main sell most months, when ive looted gear those have worn them meaning they also did.
Pvp players not buying is a fallacy.
The only point im making at this time.

There are a lot of complaints from PvPers; myself included. But this is because this particular group of individuals has to consider something known as ‘balance’ in their preferred method of gameplay. After all, who is going to complain about killing a boss super fast with the shiny new weapon they just got? That sounds pretty cool to me!

But players aren’t bosses, they don’t have thousands of health to chunk through to kill one another – Not to mention that they can also heal. So we need perks to be balanced around not only the PvE content of the game, but also for PvP in order to prevent one prevalent ‘meta’ from occuring or another. You’ll see time and again people complaining about perks like ‘Last Stand’, ‘Steel Thewed’, and other perks that prevent death for an extended period of time.

This game has been out for six years now, and despite the group of PvPers in the game growing smaller and smaller as time goes on, it hasn’t once been described as a complication in the development cycle by the developers. And if you don’t like PvP, Funcom offers a completely PvE experience where you won’t have to think about it.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, I’d love to hear what projects you’ve worked on in quality assurance that you’ve seen this “PvP complication” happen.

Survive. Build. Conquer. And I’ll see you out there Exiles.

It’s not that
I was trying to be reasonable about it.

You made a statement that is absurd given the context of this game
 I corrected you
(with information that you could google in 5 seconds btw if you wanted to
) and instead of thinking about it, you’re just doubling down to the point where you really seem a bit out of touch with reality (I’m guessing that’s where @Tuffman 's bubble comment comes in)

(FYI I streamed full time for more than a year so I have a slight idea how things work)
And no, Funcom does not receive a penny from partnered streamers
and it’s often backwards with big channels and game companies
they pay the streamer to promote the game
and not the other way around

The part where they win thou and why companies are backing streamers in most cases is because it’s still the cheapest form of advertisment for them and the most effective
some games would’ve never made it big if not for streamers raising awareness.
So no
Funcom making direct revenue from PvP streamers is simply not the case :man_shrugging: And if you’re really struggling to believe that it is what it is :man_shrugging:

I sometimes see comments on my PvP videos on my YouTube channel like:

“What server is this? How is it possible, you have active PvP?”

or

“This looks cool. People are actually fighting players when raiding”

etc.

90% of the players from the Conan community are bad at PvP/fighting. That’s a fact. And what do you do when you can’t compete? You wait for your enemies to be offline and wipe them in order to “win”.

There is little chance of completely knowing the intent behind a comment. Someone could have a genuine fault to raise (log a ticket), others a personal axe to grind or promote. Some players collectively spam tickets or comments just because they dislike a game company, a game, they’ve been banned, that feral bunny that can one-hit kill but am not saying where, work for rival companies, the colour puce - or just in need of a hug.

Complaints only affect Your/Our game when we take them on board (or they are a bug). It’s kind of like walking through a mall and trying to put everything in your trolley or in your mouth. Just look at comments, be they negative, positive, neutral, biased - and only take from them what you want.

Just go through the fault logging tickets to see all the duplications - and then match. So many repeats. It is very unhealthy to release patches and hotfixes ad hoc. Any Tech person knows that you agglomerate and release in collective batches. Only critical game engine broken fixes are done ASAP.

If a player is swayed from a game just because they see emotive ‘stuff’ in a forum then, well, like a sorcerer’s latest thrall to break a wineglass, their heart is just not in it.

I would normally not post a vid-link, but in this case the player sums things up rather well:

I am still playing, my servers are still running, and I certainly have no plans on stopping anytime soon

100%

There’s a small percentage in NA that are good and they’re well known.

The rest are new, have specific skills that are not PVP specific or are unwilling to learn or adapt.

I do. If the combat goes too quickly, it’s no fun. Pvp or PvE.

You bring up a valid and frequent concern, that being the disparity between bosses and enemy player characters.

This one personally would prefer new weapons do something nifty (use the wrong attack pattern, be weightless, glow in the dark, have benefit against undead or specific monster types, have an unusually high durability, also be a harvest tool, ect) however, boring but strong wins battles.

Boring but strong is also comparatively easy to make.

What is exciting about PvP is not what is exciting about PvE.

While this one is unimpressed by claims that dueling is the only true PvP (That’s PvE-C), tactics and damage vs other Player Characters being packaged the same as damage vs Thralls is, while low hanging fruit, possibly not the most affectacious.

Anyone notice horses got buffed with chapter 3?

The horse Hp buff is easily my favorite part of the update. That and the mounting bug seems to be fixed.

Was a necessary buff. All we needed was to knock off the riders more quickly. Before it was basically a tank with the player. Now the player needs to watch out.

Funcom just needs to come forth and say what there intentions with this game is , is it a rpg or survival pvp . As soon as they say what they are actually trying to acomplish with conan both sides of the community will settle down , for i myself have played on official pvp servers since preview on console and would say im better than most players . And im still waiting for them to talk about balance changes for pvp , but if they come out and say they dont really care about pvp official then ill stop wanting changes , simples

ideally there would be separate weapon/armour/character stat sheets for pvp/pve-c and pve/singleplayer.

right now as with most that have both pvp and pve, both modes are using the same stats and anything that gets nerfed because of complaints from pvp effects pve as well.

Conan Exiles is a bad PvP game.
Too much steps to reach your peak power.

Changing this is bad for PvE.
If they change it PvE would turn bad.

Sane happened to Atlas lol.

Gear wise maybe, not build. There is a favorite build for supreme power in PvP. I personally think if any “meta build” exists that dominates all other builds then the game has serious balance issues and/or not enough builds to choose from (variety).

If pvp was periodically wiped anew, then PvE and pvp can have the meta together. Just make it hard to get.

Its a little bit of both. And in reality, has little issue doing so. The issues come in when players don’t exactly have an agreement on what survival is, and what PVP is. Then they expect Funcom to adhere to what they think PVP should be. Not what is in consensus, but each individual judges on their own definition. So there is little point in them saying what it is. They already have. Its both. By their own definition. If each player can have their definition. Well the creators of the game get their definition too.

The difference is some players and Funcom acknowledge that fact. But unfortunately many don’t.

So because it’s to many steps to get strong it is a bad PVP game? Lol. It’s way less steps than many other games, that are good. Problem is that majority of players in conan want to be served with a silverplate and have an easy way to compete.

If conan is a bad PVP game, then how is it a good PVE game when most PVE stuff is broken aswell?

Differences between PVP players and PVE players is the need of balance. The new dungeon for example, it’s broken af but I dont see too many complaints about it from PVE players.
