Too much dry wood and leather

make ichor from them and feed the cooked fish to thralls

I did find bark hard to obtain initially.
But now with the pickaxe in the north, bark is a pretty regular drop.
Also the inhabitants of asgarth and the pirate ship are swimming in the stuff.
They must use it for currency or something. I don’t know.
Usually have 100 - 200 each after a raid on those places.

Yeah, have been using the fish for ichor and feeding thralls too.

None of those things is really the problem for me. Its mainly the shortage of resin.
I just have boxes and boxes full of leather and dry wood.

I find myself creating leather just for the tar byproduct. This is the #1 reason for my leather over-production. If the press is as fast at creating tar as is leather crafting that would be my solution to the “too much leather” problem.

That said, for anyone who has ever watched dry wood burn, it’s hard to accept this as a longer burning fuel source as coal while maintaining immersion.

Maybe we need charcoal that can be created by burning wood in a special fire pit, which then can be used for food/crafting stations? Would burn slower/hotter than wood, but not as hot as coal.

You make oil out of it with the fluid press

You said you are chopping trees in the north.
There resin is a byproduct like bark.

and you can use the drywood to fuel everything you would fuel with oil. Or just post it to me.

I like the idea of using leather strips as twine. I also think it would make sense to use dry wood (grinded up) as an ingredient to make compost in lieu of plant fiber

I do think there should be a recipe that’s something like 5 regular leather + twine = thick leather

That sounds like a good solution to the leather problem.

Doesn’t seem to drop as much, for me anyway. Ant the good people of asgarth don’t seem to carry it as much as bark.

Still, I find I do generally get enough.
Just so much wood.

Maybe the could introduce merchants into the Set city who trade leather for resin/bark and dry wood for tar.

I use dry wood to make insulated wood for black ice structures as well as a fuel source. It is tied with oil for the longest burn time.

Burn times without a thrall bonus:
Branch: 5 Seconds
Wood: 10 Seconds
Coal: 35 Seconds
Oil: 48 Seconds
Dry Wood: 48 Seconds

But even then, I still have excess dry wood; having another use for it would be nice.
