Tot! Transparency (please keep the community up to date)

That’s… how should I put this nicely… highly unlikely… .

Most likely what happened is that Tot chose not to share it simply because he didn’t think it would improve the situation… quite the opposite… and based on what he did share, that’s a pretty fair assessment and I think it was probably a good call.

Last thing he needs is you guys getting “outraged” by the rest of the contents of that email and “go to war in his name” to validate the concerns about the part he did share…

Custom directly increases the amount of Bazaar and Battle Pass purchases because once you unlock something via the bazaar, battle pass, or a dlc you can use it via Custom. You still have to unlock it to be able to use it.

I would be interested to know technically how this was done. My naive self simply thinks of how normally it’s done; you access the admin panel and spawn it in if you have admin access and have purchased the content. So someone who doesn’t have admin rights on a server would find that difficult… or an admin who doesn’t have rights to the bp/bazaar content might find it difficult to spawn and hand out something they don’t have rights to… almost as if the ability to spawn bp/bazaar content in either case would be an issue… but then again I freely admit I don’t know how such a thing is done…

cant wait for ToT custom to be unbanned to play again c: Well. I can and have waited and will continue to do so but id really rather appreciate it if they hurried the heck up.

Also confused why everyone says companies never reply about their admin actions or ongoing decisions that arnt popular with the community. Jagex regularly does it for MUCH bigger games than conan exiles lmfao. They regularly discuss things like actions taken against plug-in developers, HDOSRS (117), player feedback and have their own admin smackdowns. Theyve been transparent about firing employees who have abused positions of power to ban players (Jed, Trident, ROT) and such. And transparent about banning and smacking down players who whine and have a history of cheating or whatever and its been amazing for their game and led it to being one of the 3 most profitable MMO’s out there while being highly transparent.

Funcom absolutely could be transparent if they wanted too. But the majority of their audience and dev team are boomers who worship companies decisions and treat them like theyre so kind of divine entity that needs not answer to itself or its consumers and that the consumers are idiots to be mocked when they speak out. I think thats silly when other games are proving just how effective the alternative can be and how dedicated a fanbase can get when they actually interact and cooperate with the developers.

Phasmophobia is another great example of active developers that interact and talk with their community and listen to feedback and actually comment on shit… And its one of the most profitable games on steam atm, and literally the most highly reviewed game in numbers.

Unsure how its done, but can confirm that any Admin Panel mod, whether thats Pippi or Tot Admin, wont let you touch bazaar, DLC or battlepass items unless you are an owner of that content. Even as an admin.

I cant even move or rotate chairs and decor other players place down even in Super Admin modes if i dont own it.

Tot Custom doesn’t spawn the item, it just skins the appearance of the item overriding the appearance of whatever you normally have equipped. AFAIK Tot performs a check to verify any item you want to skin with is an item you own if a Bazaar or DLC item, and if you don’t own it, you can’t use it as an appearance skin. You can still see it listed though (as all DLC and Bazaar items exist in your copy of Conan Exiles since the game still needs the local data to properly render those items appearance if other people happen to be using them) so in some ways Tot Custom ALSO acts as a continuing advertisement for armor and weapons in the Bazaar and DLCs…

But that’s how Custom works, it looks at all the game files and mods for armor and weapons and accessories and lists them all in various categories. This is where a lot of confusion about the mod comes in, as while you can see those items listed, you cannot necessarily use them unless you own them; however, unless you actively TRY and use them and see the message informing you you cannot, to uninitiated folks it might very well look like Tot Custom was enabling people to bypass the Bazaar. (Though, from what I have gathered, this was not one of the reasons given for the takedown of the mod.)

i take exception to the idea that those who dont jump on the sky-is-falling-because-a-mod-was-banned wagon are “boomers” who “worship companies decisions”

i am a communist. i hate money, i hate people who make money, i hate monetization, i hate everything to do with western economics. i dont worship funcom, i just play their game.

i also don’t worship a single modder and act like if one mod is removed then the evil corporate overlords are scheming to remove all mods so as not to compete with their own economic interests.

Assuming you arent just casting insults at anyone who’s not a millennial, my guess is the biggest market are gen X’ers… most of the dev team appears to be gen X or younger as well (probably the vast majority arent even gen X)

It’s been so long - and things do seem to be moving so unpleasantly slow as servers and players are suffering.

I really wish there was some more respect to playerbase at play here, with Custom issue. There’s really thousands of people waiting for resolution…

The statement is wrong, there are ways. I will say no more on the subject.

Xevyr, I have had quite enough of your hubris. Can I kindly ask you to refrain from replying to my posts? I will return the favour. Thank you!

No, you may not do such a thing

If you go to their user page, below the blue (:email: Message) Button is a button that says ‘Normal’. This is a drop down menu. You can then select ‘Muted’ which will allow their replies to still show up, you just won’t get a notification about them or Ignored, which does the above and hides their posts.

Oh yes! OR do that if my posts bother you!
In fact it’s highly encouraged, especially if by “hubris” you mean “people who don’t agree with the BS I pulled out of where the sun don’t shine”

It’s not a question of respect or lack thereof. It is a dispute between Funcom and a mod author, and resolving it takes the time it takes.

We are not party to that issue. We’re bystanders at best, collateral damage at worst. We’re not being disrespected because we’re not even a factor in the matter.

How about this? Funcom just shuts down all mods? It seems that’s what people like you are working toward.

Yeah, they should totally shut down all mods because people are posting on the forums! And it would all be the players’ fault. For posting on the forums.

Ha!

Yes, so many contributions here are ridiculous.

Mhm. I am sure they would be more than happy to kill the majority of their playerbase. I believe that’s what the industry calls “a big brain move”.

That said, it is sad how Funcom treats their mod makers.
