Yup! My guess regarding the move to disable transfers is partly because they’ve had to focus on restoring them. Volume of forum posts, seeing failed transfers discussions in global chats, etc.,… must be quite the job. But at the very least those restorations are happening very very quickly. Another transfer fail early morning then restored within a few hours.

Some pointers from my experience…give the server you came from, the server you were going to, the error you got and always be professional since this is their job. Treat them with the same level of respect you would anyone you do continuous business with.
See the “when and if” is exactly what i was worried about. I vividly remember years ago when Gods would be disabled “for a brief amount of time” and it ended up being 2 years almost with no Gods. If the Server transfer errors can’t be fixed in timely fashion i would hope all official servers get wiped. There will be clans on exiled lands with siptah gear and new players coming in or players that didnt have a chance to go to siptah yet be at a huge disadvantage since they can’t bring in Eldarium after the 7th. And this is coming from someone who has countless body vaults of loot, level 60 characters, and eldarium on the exiled lands. New players have no shot on official servers the way it is already with OG clans being so hype to just smoke noobs and collect their midgrade armor and iron poniards. @Dana
The only issue here would be pvp servers and truth be told…they fickle and tend to leave and decay out. Those that have maintained a presence do do with just updating decay timers and leaving afterwards… eventually they will make a mistake and you can demolish them and if they are that built up, it’s not the Siptah gear that is the issue but the layers upon layers of doors, foundations etc that are preventing a effective raid within the raid window.
I lost a character last night trying to transfer to help out my husband bringing stuff back to our exiled lands server and lost my character. I’ve had it for 6 months and have weapons I can’t replace on it. I reported through the submit a report and got an email from zendesk so I think it’s been reported properly then right? It’s been 24 hours and I’m worried once the 7th hits I won’t get my character back. I don’t even care about going to other server anymore I’m fine to stay. I uploaded character and it was successful but when importing to new server it said invalid token and then the import button vanished! Can I still be helped even after the 7th? Today is the 5th and this happened yesterday and I immediately reported. I’m worried I’m stuck in limbo forever! Character name Anya. Clan is Valhalla Bound. Was on PVE server exiled lands 3760 and was trying to go to PVE isle of siptah 8081 but that’s fine my clan and base are on 3760 I want to be there. Official servers for both. I was told to post in forums also hopefully this is okay/what I’m supposed to do.
Yeah my “main” character hurriedly tried to leave Siptah on the weekend and has of course now been stuck in limbo
Zendesk hasn’t been so quick with me as they were with you. So far just a confirmation that they’ll look into it. It has only been two days though.
Weekend and Oslo time. By the time it’s Friday afternoon in the States, they are having dinner with their families and looking forward to sleeping in.
Looks like when I emailed them, what was Saturday morning for me in eastern Australia was 11 o’clock Friday night in Oslo. And now I’m at work and for them it’s the middle of the night on Sunday.
After six months on PvP servers, we are so thankful to have the transfers suspended. This will finally give us a break from the mega alpha clans that jump from server to server and wipe everyone. They have their primary base in one server, and just hop around to foundation wipe everyone…then move to the next.
The worst are the cheating clans with admin cheats that ghost thru walls and become invisible. They wipe the server in about a week and head out. At least now we can maybe get to the end level parts of the game before the transfers are enabled again.
We’ve had characters stuck in limbo as well, and have always received timely feedback from Funcom. Our hope is that Funcom is looking into some of these issues with the mega hopping clans.
Let me know if they fix yours because mine will be soon to fix after if yours gets fixed cause mine happened Saturday yours on Friday. I’m so worried they can’t help us after the seventh I will have lost my isle of siptah Silent Slash which uses like no stamina so you can swing forever and has a strength bonus and agility bonus of +4 each. My clan is on exiled lands now we left siptah months ago. I fear I’ll never get that katana back again! And I will have lost the huntress bow which is a +5 accuracy and I was just getting to like archery because of that bow! My whole clan is playing without me now, had a purge and everything without me. I just want my character back! So many emotes and recipes
Sorry to say I’m still in limbo, transfers are now suspended (I checked) and I haven’t heard any news. It’s Tuesday evening on the 7th.
I know how you feel. My character has almost every fragment recipe from Exiled Lands and Siptah. The only one I didn’t have that I wanted is vagabond armour. I normally play on EL and I went to Siptah specifically to get the recipes. Was on my way back when they got sucked into limbo
Oh well, it’s not like the characters are gone forever I guess - just for now. I wasn’t playing super actively at the moment anyway but it means I’ll probably need a new character to jump back in when the 3.0 update arrives. I hope you get yours back @AnyaRomanova
I’m pretty sure they mentioned that even if your character is still stuck in limbo once character xfers are shut off that they will still restore the character, you might just have to wait a little longer.

Wow just realized that you got a nifty calendar trick in the announcement post. After reading this reminder, I was thinking…the gates should have been shut already so I rechecked the announcement and sure enough…its a calendar thing so that the time is relative to what time zone your in…pretty cool and keeps me from doing the 8 hour adjustment

argh I forgot to get pups! I also meant to get a couple of those froggy guys to freak people out in the EL but didn’t get around to it. Oh well.
