As the title says. Transmog I do run tierd of seeing erveryone in silent legion light armor + how broken that armor is. No legendary set or anything match it.
“yes you can even narrow it down to that it is the “padding” that decides the stats.
lets say they make 5 diffrent light paddings 5 diffrent medium paddings & last 5 diffrent heavy paddings.”
OFC THIS HAS TO BE LIKE THIS:
Armor type transmog
Light to Light
Medium to Medium
Heavy to Heavy
Personally, I’m not a fan of transmog. What you see is what you should have.
However, I think the underlying issue that you’re having is everyone is using the same meta gear. Instead of hiding the appearance of one set, it would be better if they made other sets more viable.
It could come as an enable/disable option.
I dont see why or what it would change for official pvp tho.
Other than making a character more personal or let people enjoy their dlcs or mix match however they want.
I’ve had access to Transmog through mods for some time. Its a benefit for any server to be perfectly honest. You do get to see a diverse set of clothing options being used that you normally wouldn’t. This is better for the game over all. The only issue that makes this a problem is how much load it would be for the client. Its a little bit more to have to adjust for every player on the screen. Most PCs handle this just fine. But can earlier Xbox and PS4 do it? Unfortunately there is a ton of features that we can’t have without modding because of the lowest common dominators. Once the majority of our console players have Xbox Series S/X or PS5s, and they can drop support to PS4 and Xbox 1 is when we can really see some of these more visual features come in to play.
Transmog has absolutely no bearing on PVP. There’s too many sets that look alike and give different stats. The only thing that might change things up is determining whether or not someone is a threat or not (such as transmoging light armor). But the argument could be made that it spices up PVP as you now have to treat everyone as a potential threat. But it balances out as for everyone who looks weak, there will be actually weak people who look strong. One would need to rely on skill for ganks rather than opportunity. PVPers (real ones anyway) would want skill to prevail over opportunity in any case.
You pretty much just stated you’re looking for easy ganks. I’m not sure that’s the hill you want to make your stand on. But I’m not going to tell you not to. Just don’t expect to get any sympathy from others on the topic.
Will add this to solution. just to highlight a point now I see written in comments.
One solution could be: If the Silent legion recipe is learned, you gain access to craft armors with that stat + resource requirement. So that u can craft all armors in the same stat, we all know what stats we need for pvp.
What is interesting about your idea is it isn’t much different on how attribute bonuses already work.
In the Item table armors and weapons only have their weight, armor bonus, damage stats, looks, etc.
There’s another table that has all the temperature resists and attribute bonuses. This table simply matches the IDs of both tables to assess the bonuses given when equipped. If they divorced them, and you simply picked the type of bonus you wanted for each slot instead of tying it to the equipment, the issue I brought up earlier would actually be mitigated.
yes you can even narrow it down to that it is the “padding” that decides the stats.
lets say they make 5 diffrent light paddings 5 diffrent medium paddings & last 5 diffrent heavy paddings.
I’m guessing this is from a surge on Siptah? Because I’ve played only on EL so far and every crafter has the same clothes. I mean, if we can dress up follower thralls as we see fit, why not let us do the same with crafters…
Yes, that dafari mask wearing crafter comes from t4 south surge. Iron-eater Gnaar (blacksmith) is another example, also found in t4 south surge.
When siptah launched I farmed t4 east surge like crazy because those crafters (t4 armorer and tanner from east surge) had black clothing and golden accessories. I wish I took a few screenshots back then because I can’t seem to find any online images of this.
Since coming back to siptah and doing a couple t4 east surges, I have not been able to find black clothed crafters again sadly. Not sure if it was a bug back at launch or they have changed it again.
Edit: I have found the t4 tanner but the wiki references her with normal shoddy brown clothing. The Master Tanner Hina I found at siptah launch didn’t have these knee-high boots but instead, had black shoddy clothing with those golden armlets. I really liked the black and gold aesthetic because it fit well with Stormglass building pieces around the crafting stations…
My dear @PowerCandy, I wouldn’t mind to see your idea in this game but at the same time I wouldn’t mind not to.
I do understand that after the temp effect system changes on our armor pieces, a lot of armor pieces are to the side right now.
I do not agree with your hyperbolic attack on the silent legion armor looks, this I have to say that is the thing that kept me away from this post. The reason is not the silent legion, but the redeemed one, which is the easiest and best solution for traveling all across the map without changing armor pieces all the time. I use my self the redeemed set with the executioners hood and I traveled to Siptah with it to test it and I understood why you can’t fix it in Siptah. Because then all the Siptahrians would use the same set too .
However we have to accept another fact too. To gain a purge armorer back then was extremely rare and please I do not accept refuse to that part. I count over a hundred human purges in this period to witness 2 purge Armorers only.
So yes the redeemed set now is extremely easy to gain as other things too. Still it’s extremely easy for veterans not for new players and this we must never forget, not only veterans play this game.
However it will always be the balance between pvp and pve issue. A lot of things has lost their value for pvp reasons, without, for God’s sake, wanting to open “this” conversation again here.
I do believe too that something will be done in the future from devs about this armor issue. Surely we have another constant attack to the company about “pay to win”, that made them took the dlc pieces to the ground which is really unfair too, they should be at least equal to other good sets .
Anyway, any idea counts so I support yours too . The greatest reason I support the ideas of all the players is because devs know how to deal with the ideas and make everyone happy, or at least the ones that want to be. The ones that nothing satisfies them No one can do anything about it .
