After 1.73 update the game is literally unplayable if not connected to the internet. The Failed to login prompt boots you out of all three options beside credits. I’m playing on the ps4 slim, US version of the game.
While offline (disconnected from the internet) launch the game. Once in the main menu it’ll attempt to connect to funcom live services, and fail to login as usual being offline. But If you select the singleplayer/co-op then attempt to select continue or new game the failed to login prompt will prevent you from selecting any of two options as if you trying to select “play online” while offline. The same prompt pops up even when try to access the menu settings. The credits is the only thing accessible while being disconnected from the internet.
Tbh, I think the bug has something to do with the game is in some way registering as if the play online option is being selected when trying to select any of the three option I’ve listed above. Im guessing that might be the case because when it does boot you off with the failed to login it’ll highlight the option play online as if that was the option being selected.
is this the effect of the mentioned “Enabled Funcom Live Services to support backend operations on consoles” update (in patch notes)?
Meaning this is not a bug, but working as funcom intended - and thus here to stay.

We have spotted the problem and our team has worked on a fix on our end. It will be coming with 2.6.1.

My husband is driving me insane! We live so far out in the boondocks and rely on satellite for our internet services and live on a fixed (retired military) income, so for him to play online would be way too costly. He lives and breathes for Conan! I’m afraid if this continues for much longer that he may go back to drinking! LOL Or, maybe I’ll start! Is there a light at the end of the tunnel with a hopeful date? Something that I can give him to look forward to…To get him off my back? lol Or, a comparable game? Hanging by a thread and losing my sanity…
Is there anything NEW on this update? Would love to keep playing, but really losing interest! Why can’t they give a feasible date…something to look forward to, at the least?
