Oh please, not a work around. A work around just deprioritizes the bug.
Thank you for opening this topic and posting the video. I can’t agree more with it.
At this point I wished they could just undo the whole update.
People in my community just said goodbye to a game they loved. Even though they spent a lot of money on it in the past months. They won’t play it like this anymore. They report it to feel clunky. It’s sad.
I didn’t even try to log in because of The Bug. ![]()
I just have to say it. The overall quality of released content went down the drain. Starting with the Nemedian set: Buggy pieces from the start, that recently got a devastating “fix” that decayed peoples builts without any warning or prepare time. The Battle Pass and Bazaar items: are never tested if they actually work, or are unbalanced and basically introduce pay to win because someone doesn’t know what a star metal spears stats are.
And then the changes that nobody asked for: I can’t remember a single update after 3.0 where changes to already existing game mechanics weren’t rejected by the community.
Conan Exiles is an amazing game and I don’t understand why Dennis Douthett and his team is trying to change details that are working fine as they are.
Well, it could not be a bug, and in this case my understanding now is this is an intended change to address a bug. We’ll keep an eye on feedback about this change.

Why does funcom want me to hate this game so badly?
Beat you to it. ![]()
However, after using this setting for a time, there’s still something very wrong. My character often locks into a certain direction AS IF target locked, but without being target locked. It sometimes resolves by itself, but can keep quite a while. Can be fixed by finding an enemy and actually target-locking it.
My character still often attacks into the air, even if target locked onto a nearby enemy, facing a completely different direction.
Whatever happened to the camera system, it’s really weird. If possible, it should just be reversed imho. If it was an intended change, re-check what the goal was and implement it later.
The issue isn’t game-breaking IF you know the game and run around with two overpowered thralls that smash anything to bits without your help. Buuuut for any serious or even beginning player, it’ll be demoralizing.
They took 1 step forward in chapter two and 3 steps backward now.
In chapter two they have added the rotations in the combo montages because before it was hard to hit mid animation.
Everything felt smoother than before, because you could adjust the direction of the attacks.
In chapter three they destroy everything it was built before to make it worse than how Conan played 4 years ago.
Holding W to rotate mid attack is in direct conflict with the “cancel move window” in the montages. Which means that during some animations, walking tends to interrupt the montage before the actual animation ends.
It was already harder to make a full combo with the increased stamina drain, and now it is even harder as the clunky WASD adjustment is going to interrupt the combos in the chaos of the combat.
This change affects the dodges as well as they will be less reliable, with the character sometimes dodging backward even when you point forward.
Sometimes the character will get stuck after an attack and walk backward instead of forward.
It feels like we can’t have nice things with Funcom.
Combat got so good in chapter 2 why break everything now? literally makes no sense
Agree, the new system is trash and EXTREMELY UNFUN.
It’s like they got together and thought of the easiest way to F" everyone over and make the game virtually unplayable.
Are they TRYING to kill the game??
If they don’t fix that coin crap they will be open to a class action lawsuit.
First of all what is purpose of beta live test if bugs and errors that appear there are not fixed, and we got game without any changes from beta test + new bonus bugs.
Thanks to Andy for temporary solution, but its not how should be done. Bugs from beta leve should be fixed on realease not in mid january.
Its be nice to test it on live if only we not get banned.
WASD movement is what I used in PvP since 2019.
Since infinite stamina all you had to do was roll poke whilst keeping W pressed. Combat had more skill before that because of the obvious stamina changes (except target lock).
What bothers me is the slow rotation that happens now during attacks. You can’t instantly attack from 0 to 180 degrees anymore. Huge nerf to combat.
But I already uninstalled this trash game. Dennis Douchette (or whatever his last name is) ruined it for me.
This reeks of consolitis. Not cool.
I will definitely not like it from what I see on YouTube and read here … this is terrible.
Should I be glad I can’t try it because I am stuck in a ban since yesterdays update?
The new movement during combat sucks so hard it made me create account and reply here:
I am tired of ■■■■■■ unannounced changes.
So a YouTuber put a video out on this very thing, it was reported during the test live phase… and just now it’s being looked into? And how does this change “address” a bug? Maybe someone should figure out how to FIX the bug instead of COMPLETELY GIMPING a perfectly enjoyable combat system. Just a thought.
Since last night, my character suddenly began to feel like an invalid who was unable to control his movements… and I felt like an idiot who had been deceived in his best feelings. ![]()
Disabling camera rotation is not a solution to the problem for me.
I tried today in singleplayer… Man, this is horrible.
I disabled all the camera rotating and console function for it. It get’s a bit better, but the rest is complete failure.
There is no longer ANY way to dodge from big creature’s attack (Croco boss, for example), because every enemy rotates fluently with your movement and aims their attacks in any direction you try to dodge-roll in.
This is unreal nonsense. No enemy could predict your actions with 100% accuracy and without any miss.
As a fan of single-player games, yesterday I started thinking about downloading a two-year-old game build from torrents and playing completely offline.
haha, now that is a way to go!

I am more like thinking about getting into playing something completely different in next days. Probably going to stuck with BAN at least for the weekend, so time for a change maybe?
For me, the big problem with the croc boss isn’t so much the ability to turn towards you mid-attack, but that when it does you often get stuck inside its head.
They need to fix those hitbox issues (will never happen, I know) and I agree that enemies shouldn’t have perfect targeting. They went from fighting like drunken sailors to fighting like John Wick.
Exactly.
Like my first idea was to only whether change the player combat style, so people have enough time to practice it, but keep the NPC targeting style the same. Or to change NPC fighting style and targeting, but keep the old swift fight system for the player.
I am not sure what half-brain created this killer combo, about which the majority of players is complaining. And what were they expecting to get in the terms of feedback.
