Weapons Balance

It’s funny that back then that sword of Crom was so “important” Ajas bane or Nortis was the best thrall weapons by far. Now momentum is, not gada and certainly not every other 2 h sword. The reason is simple, 2h swords had always combo breaking moves, that means that your thrall, especially now will easily loose combo. But with a mace? Not so, mace has devastating combo and it breaks really hard. It doesn’t have the AOE that great sword has yet a simple light attack from another npc will break the thralls combo. Not to mention that hyper armor is long gone.
So invest on mace, forget 2h swords for thralls.
About sword of Crom!!!
I am a Crom believer.
I have no religious benefits.
At least give me Crom weapons that really makes difference. Make them special as long as i chose Crom for religion. The way new sword of Crom is, i believe that it’s more decorative than useful.
Croms hammer should be equal to hanumans gada, but lighter, yet only for Crom believers. And the “gift of Crom” should be granted only to Crom believers, to none other.
I need…
Croms agile blade!
Croms agile spear!
Croms agile javelin!
Croms mace!
Axe of Crom!
Croms angel (2h axe)!
Croms nightmare blade (katana)!
Croms betrayal (daggers).
Croms dueling blades.
All of them come from the Crom dungeon!

love your idea…although that would mean that at character creation CROM religion would actually be the best choice, since all other religions can be learned.
But that somebody can actually learn more than 1 religion is crazy to begin with.
In another thread here that was debated too.

But yes, great idea to give CROM religion some sense around weapons rather than altars and gods.

Not mine my brother…

I am just a believer :metal:. Yet i have faith. Siptah arrived with dragonbone armors which was my greatest wish of all. I believe one day i will use weapons of a god who doesn’t care… If humanity survive . That’s why these weapons should be insanely strong.

Why would you think that? One can learn as many religions as one wishes to in reality, so why would you not have been able to in the Hyborian Age?

I honestly didn’t mean learn, but rather “follow”…I think you should however be able to “unlearn” a religion, but that should also have consequences etc.

What I mean is, that the ability to “learn” any religion just by using an item is kind of lame.

Oh, well that makes more sense.

Well since GS are this bad, why not give this sword a nice 150 damage and make it a true powerhouse like it was supposed to be ?

Also, GS are crap NOW since that dumb “fixing” to hyper-armor system. Before they are better (and still far from great).

Every weapon is great. I remember using venom infused pikes and many Lian lvl 0 to test purges. I had 2 Dalinsia with momentum and they died first :woman_shrugging:t4:. When a thrall is cornered the pike is better. Thralls and npcs share the same “stupidity”, so if you think a bit how many times you died from daggers, that means that daggers are good too, isn’t it? Especially these Khitan with daggers on high lvl purges are a real pain still.
So i would suggest you not to stick in “pilots”. Every unnecessary legendary weapon with decent damage is ok. Only when you train thralls is best to have weapons like Gada or momentum, this extra boost is good to have. @Akomo is using this system with specific gear and he level up his thralls really fast and almost with no casualty. I say almost because official gaming is always unpredictable .
Sword of Crom doesn’t need 150 dmg, with 120 almost every boss was 6 hits, 150 is insanely too much , trust me.
Yes i want better treatment to Croms gear.
No i don’t want game breaking things.

They should also rework the abyssal weapons, black ice and obsidian sets as well as Telith’s considering how difficult and tedious it is to craft them.

Telith’s Sorrow and Telith’s Lament were thusly named after having seen some of the other weapons available in the game. :sob:

Very true.
They could’ve done lots of interesting things, like giving specific bonuses against specific enemis.

EXAMPLE: Obsidian Weapons → +25% damage vs undead

Which is also extremely easy to implement.
Instead they made most non-sense stuff.

And as for Telith’s weapons, they’re just the main proof of how bad this game balanced weapons.

Question here!
How many times did you use the specter weapons against undead?
Legendary weapons do have multiple bonuses yet people will always choose the “easy ride” and you cannot blame them. It’s freaking annoying to walk around the map with 10 different weapons :woman_shrugging:t4:, it makes no sense. So even if obsidian weapons had this extra benefit but no higher stats they would still be useless.
I do agree to better craft able.
I do agree to better Crom gear and an overhaul to this religion.
But not more unnecessary complexity, it’s purely waste of time especially when we have serious bugs that cannot be solved some time now.

(Johnny i don’t argue with you, just chatting m8 :metal:)

Of course that goes with those being on par with the other.
It’s pointless if base stat + bonus is still lower than another weapon that has higher stats. We all know that.

And also problem is that we basically don’t NEED specific builds to counter specific enemies. They just go down all the same.

That, btw, was just an example.
A better idea would be that Obsidian Weapons are the only ones that can STAGGER undeads. That, along with a better balancing of weapons (and maybe enemies) would make those great for farming in UC.

But, again, just talking here. I don’t even bother sitting down and think carefully, since it would just be ignored anyway.

That’s not so true when it comes to some world bosses.
For example rockslide is a boss that needs specific builds and specific gears. Go without specifics and you’ll face your doom. Equally difficult (almost) has become the Rotbranch as well, it use to be a bit slower and more predictable.
Now you’ll tell me, what’s the necessity of killing these bosses? None!
Yet that’s the beauty of this game when it comes to pve content. For a player to have everything the risk can be low or none in many cases. Conan exiles is a game that shelters both skilled warriors and skilled “farmers” . In addition it has a marvelous building system that shelters unique builders as well creating wonders.
So you understand that in order to shelter everyone they always try to balance the “joy meter”. I say try because as long as there are complaints, that means that they didn’t made it yet. From my side i believe they will never manage to do it and it doesn’t have to do with abilities, it’s more that it takes a miracle to please all these “sides” to the maximum. There will always be “favors” for one side only and players are not so altruists .

All the weapons stagger with the correct combo, all of them. Not only the undead, but everything except specific bosses. Every single enemy has a game breaking weapon making the fights really easy.
Did you knew that you can stagger a rocknose with fist fighting? If you don’t believe it ask @Pixelcave, he have seen me done it  (it’s no brag and i hope it didn’t sound this way).
Go out naked brother and wear bravery for armor, you own these lands, trust me.

No! At least speaking from my side i don’t ignore what you say, i am friendly replying, try to get the mood of my replies, they are only friendly m8.
We are both burned out with the same game, we have nothing to split here.

Honestly, this one wishes the more obnoxious to craft items, and the ones that are a supreme pain to learn should be better than those learned just from leveling.

Star Metal has strong stats and a golem bane affect (which is extremely useful in one dungeon and often in higher end purges).
It is only level gated.
Star metal as a material is easy enough to get.
The gear benefits from higher end crafts people.

This one thinks, perhaps, Obsidian could use a significant buff. So annoying to learn and composite obsidian is a pain in the @$$ to make. It does drop more now at least.
Stats around Star Metal would be a good start (or in the neighborhood of Grey One gear from Siptah) but with higher penetration across the board but lesser durability.

Likewise, Black Ice gear is… Well it’s sad isn’t it?
To be useful as anything other than an illusion, this one would suggest that it’s stats also go up to Star Metal level. As it cannot benefit from smiths, this one would base it at Star Metal crafted by a tier 3 smith.
They should have significantly higher durability than most items of their shape.
All of these items would offer significant heat resistance.
Further, just as Obsidian causes bleed and Dragon Bone sunders, this one suggests that Black Ice slows.
Like the cauldron effect. To reflect the target being frozen over.

Now, this one also feels that more gear should be added to these craftables (Claws to Dragonbone, katana to obsidian, and Shortsword to Black Ice at least.)

As for Telith’s sad sticks…
They need much better stats.
Base stats should be Star Metal, but with more damage.
Literally the top of the line of craftable swords.
They should be to swords what the ancient Lemurian Axe is to axes. While not the best in game, definitely the best numbers wise coming off the bench.

This one is still working on what the Khari bad joke gear needs.
But either expanded to include more gear types and made into a Lorestone (to reflect they exist only to be illusions), or put on the same stat level as Eldarium/Void Forged gear. As annoying as they are, they should be scraping the bottom of Legendary in power level.

When i was doing the “legolas” challenge and find out that hardened steel arrows were better from obsidian or dragonbone, it made me really upset. However the Serpent-man arrows was equally good as star metal, yet they demanded demon blood. I don’t know if it’s still the case and if the stats are changed, but i remember wishing the same thing, like you, in many occasions, yet on this challenge it made me furious.
Hard to get = higher rewards, something that doesn’t happen in this game years now.
