Crossed my fingers one more time and loaded the game to check out the new patch. The stuttering is more frequent and now I have a wave-like anomaly that goes all the way across my screen in various spots when my character is moving. Shut it down after about 10 minutes of checking things.
Although I may have voiced my disdain on several occasions on these forums, I’ve been hangin’ tough since early access and the big update two weeks before official release that screwed my game up; and subsequent patches that either helped a little or made things worse. This one made it unplayable…again.
All I could do in the past year is fire the game up when new patches were released to see if they helped and have played very little as a result.
Unless someone has come up with a miracle fix for these issues, I think it’s time to clear some room on my SSD, count CE as a lesson learned, and move on with the new games coming out.
Wish you didn’t have the issues, but wish you well in your new game journeys.
It hasn’t been lip service man, sorry to see you go. I work in support, so I’m completely confident that with your rig and my meat you’d be doing fine after some time. That’s not going to happen, clearly I can’t be in two places at once. The game is great, and I vocally back it because I hope others won’t quit simply because of a hardware or software issue. If you ever feel like returning to the Exiled Lands, I’ll help you as much as I can.
Me too. I loved this game and played the crap out of it in early access. Thanks for the kind words.
Clearly a pc issue, i have 5 computers in house with CE installed, all run CE fine.
Only my gameserver and personal pc runs on a ssd alltho i can feel the difference if i play on a ssd, there`s no reason to.
Gamerig on a amd 9590@5ghz, 7200k disk and amd R9, runs fine…5 years old.
Rig 2, Intel i7 3 years old, 7200k disk, amd 480, runs fine…
Rig 3, Rysen, on board gfx, 7200k disk, runs great…
Laptop, i5, intel on-board gfx, office spec, runs fine on laptop settings…
Laptop 2, i5, amd gfx on-board, runs ok on laptop settings…
And yes, i`m old:)
Point is, what do people expect these days, we used to have HW to support at least minimum specs, i run this on my laptops ffs…
After a long time of building and setting up hw for others i know that what you are experiencing isnt normal, i suggest a systemcheck and then come back and explain.(i dont mean a free virusinfected systemcheck from the net)
And please, stop gaming on a poor wifi…(stuttering)
Ethernet is king, allways have, allways willl.
I guess the lesson is, get HW suitable for gaming, and uppdate drivers…Then read and search for sollutions or ask friends for help.
Screen taring, artifacts, dark or light screen all point to a faulty gfx card or heat issues…
Shadows or simular suggests drivers or activation of effects the game doesnt support, or even a simple screen lag effect.
And please, allthought you play some other game fine it doesent mean that you run all games fine with the same settings, this is why you can adjust and activate certain functions in the drivers.
After a while you will see that all games acts differently, just as all software do on differemt hardware.
All said, i wish you the best with new titles coming…
It never crossed my mind that it was lip service.
My rig and your meat?!? I beg your pardon sir!!! LMAO!!!
I wouldn’t want to see anyone stop playing because of hardware or software issues either. I’ve so thoroughly checked and recheck my rig that I’m certain there’s no issues with my hardware and if it’s a software issue, I sure as hell haven’t been able to find it. And since CE is the only game (or piece of software at all) that I have problems with, I feel my hands are tied.
I’m at wits ends and honestly feel I’ve exhausted all possible options at this time. If someday I get the itch to fire it up again, perhaps someone will have it all figured out. I know it’s not just myself having these issues. The other people I used to play CE with all had the same problems on different rigs and different OS’s. They all bailed a while back while I hung in there to see if I could sort it out or find someone who did.
Thanks for the kind words and support. I will be poking my nose in the forums from time to time to see if anything comes up on these issues.
Since you obviously haven’t been following all the pertinent posts of mine and others who’ve experienced this and you know nothing about my experience and background with computers, the experience and background of others who I’ve been in contact with to resolve this including Funcom themselves, my rig, my internet, and what I’ve done and been through to address this situation, I won’t bother commenting on all points in your post since I’ve seen them all before and they’ve all been addressed multiple times.
What I can say with the utmost confidence is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my pc or the pc’s of friends of mine who have the same issues with this game. That’s been confirmed and re-confirmed to the point where there’s no need to do further checks and diagnostics. I won’t rule out some kind of software kink, but all drivers are up to date and good. The only thing I haven’t done to rule out a software issue is completely reinstalling all software and I don’t feel the need to drop that bomb over just one piece of software I’m having issues with.
I honestly doubt you can come up with any ideas that haven’t already been attempted, but you’re welcome to try as long as they aren’t assumptions and condescending in nature such a few of your previous comments. But if you do offer any further advise, just pretend you’re addressing someone with well above average experience with pc’s, software, and electronics in general who’s already done far more than basic troubleshooting and half-assing it…in fact, don’t pretend.
Despite all that, I won’t deny there may be something we missed, but I’ll be damned if I know what that could be.
When you describe a “wave-like anomaly” on your screen, you have to understand people will get suspicious that it’s something with your hardware and OS.
same. the more they fix the more they break. im starting to think that the devs are scared to get fired if they get the game to work properly. excuses are fun up to a point… but 2 years later and the same bugs keep showing up every 3 hot fix patches… i purchased ff14 and im really considering the idea of removing CE until funcom fixes the whole game up.
i concur there is a loose screw int he graphpic, the wave like effect comes from the weapons and armors being a center of effect on graphic effect
if i can put it that way… the waving effects are using the character as the center point for water waving, the weapons offer the same effect if you check around the blade of the weapon you will notice that the suns reflection you see is moving wit the 2 handed sword . some places in the waterfall you will see graphic bugs where you see how they placed the waterfall and how big the space was made.!
this sad effect is made from god know what but it really does suck since im giving my back to the hyena bridge in f4 and the sun reflection you see emenates from a normal 2hander
No i have not followed any earlyer post, i read the topic here and your post, thereby my reply in this thread.
No one can guess what your “wavelike effect” looks like, so you leave everyone guessing.
You complain about stuttering, but totally neglect the fact that this usually are a hw issue?
But anyways, if you where interrested in fixing the issue you would provide more facts before you made this post.
Example:
Last night i was playing Conan Exiles, and i saw a strange thing on my screen, i dont know what it is, dont know why it was there, and cant explain what it looks like.
I cant uppload a screenshot, so folks, Conan Exiles is not good.
Now, how on earth can someone guess what this is?
It can be a number of things and there not nearly enough facts provided to be able to fix it.
Anyone playing games will have something like this happen, and if i where to blame a dev everytime i saw a missed feature, glitched enviroment, hard bloom effects or simular i would have to write a book.
Thats why my answer may seem harsh, because it looks more like a rant, and point to things that arent the problem.
This is my subjective opinion of course, based on all the poor systems the game runs at that ive seen.
My son came to me the other day, he said there had to be sometning wrong with his game because it didnt push out more then 90 fps on ultra settings, and in another game on ultra settings the fps was 136.
So i asked if he had a problem running the game at 90 fps, he replied no, but it`s still low…
So, he clearly pays way to much attention to the fps then the game it self.
This to try and explain that opinions vary, and software vary, systems vary and the end user vary.
There will allways be some systems good and bad on any given software, thats how it is.
So, if funcom is supposed to fix all the end users problems it would be impossible for anyone to make any kind of software, it just cant be done.
Since it seems you didn’t believe anything BigDave said, I can assure you that he’s posted many MANY threads with just that sort of info. At this point, I can’t imagine anything new he could possibly add.
Okay…if you want to do this, we’ll do this.
That’s the first thing that was checked and subsequently rechecked. No “hw” issues present. Even Funcom concurred that it shouldn’t be my hardware.
I’ve been interested in fixing this issue for over a year. If you had made yourself aware of all the posts made by myself and others, you’d know this has already been done…a lot… with Funcom as well as other users of this and other forums. Why would I post the same information over and over again?
I didn’t ask anyone to guess what it is. I was just saying that the problem still existed, I haven’t found a solution, and I won’t be playing CE as a result until a fix is found.
There’s a whole thread loaded with computer specs, screenies, and vids on these forums related to this issue. Why would I add more?
I don’t know if you were trying to be helpful, but your posts read as condescending and as if you know-it-all.
What you were unaware of is that this has been an ongoing problem and not just with me. It’s been kicked around these forums like a soccer ball at the World Cup.
Perhaps you should have researched it before you chimed in. It would have saved us both some time and effort.
I don’t remember if we did that a while back. I want to say I’ve talked with Ignasis about this, but honestly, I’m not sure. If I did, it was quite some time ago.
I know I have sent files from my computer to someone…lol. Just can’t remember who, what, and when.
Thank you very much.
Hi BigDave,
I don’t know the background of your issue more than what you posted in this thread, however, I may have a similar issue. I have two computers, 1 desktop and 1 laptop. My desktop runs fine but my laptop seems to have stuttering incredibly frequently, and there are also sometimes graphical anomalies on background elements far away. Ironically enough, my laptop is the one having the most powerful rig: last i7 generation, Nvidia 1070 GTX, 16 GB RAM, Samsung SSD harddrive aaaand… screen resolution only decent in 4k (I could go into lower resolution, but the screen becomes blurry to the point you won’t stay 1 minute in such res). One question then: are you in the same kind of configuration?
The only time I’ve experienced similar issues was with my laptop on WiFi. But I’ve never experienced it since, not even with the identical laptop on the same WiFi. My poor brother, on the other hand, gets unplayable rubber banding even on a hard line. @BigDave, you have my sympathies.
Yes I am. Your laptop is pretty close to my specs. Other people I game with who have this issue have really good systems too. One of them is an AMD system with ATI graphics while another one is an AMD system with Nvidia graphics. Mine is Intel with Nvidia like yours.
So as can be seen, this happens across a wide variety of configurations and can’t be blamed on any one person’s hardware.
Thanks for the kind words. I know…I hate this because I really fell in love with the game in early access and want to play more. When you take in to account the number of people who have similar issues across such a wide variety of computer builds and it happens on Windows 7 and 10, it makes absolutely no sense.
All things considered, I feel it should fall to Funcom to investigate this further and come up with some answers. Myself and others have done all we can do.
