I think it’s not as revolutionary as previous Chapters. It’s just like Dennis said - extra time to polish what was already introduced and opportunity to finish what was not ready to be published.
I like the QOL features, like new Thrall settings menu or these new tabs in the inventory.
Overall I am happy to see this (I’d like to get more, but I accept the reality).
Overall, positive.
The Great Hunt looks interesting.
Siptah is not neglected.
The fur cloak really appeals to the barbaric aesthetic.
Adding a ballista is good (not certain about this double tap takes out Avatars, but a new siege weapon is good).
The issue with stamina isn’t exactly where this one would prefer, but they are trying and incremental rather than massive changes are better.
The Zingaran Conquistador bling look pretty and Zingarans are a culture that gives us lots of NPCs, but so few outfits and build pieces.
The thrall UI honestly looks better and may be more utile.
The only things that bristle this one are the dye change and the inability to select specific amounts of resources
There will be other things this one does not like with more time to delve the updates, but Prima Facie is quite far into the positive side
Agree with all of those point LostBrythunian. However, for me personally the lack of combat redress was fairly glaring. Oh and the Sword of Crom nerf blows too.
The new battlepass challenges, somethings wrong in my opinion.
Dennis said that doing one set of the weekly challenges (which reset weekly) gives 2500 xp ie. 2,5 unlocks. This means that to unlock the entire 60 levels would take… 6 months?! So its impossible to unlock it within the time frame of an age chapter?
Something is off…
With the previous challenges I unlocked the whole pass in about 2 weeks, now Im confused why this change needed to be made…
Andy said that the Lost Forlorn Dungeon is similar to his office. I want to see his office.
Dye bench change wasn’t needed.
I hope that the Devs considered the impact the Starcallers could have on PvE servers. Accidental purge damage from a level 10 purge is one thing, but I envision some people purposely trying to destroy bases.
Would appreciate it if someone from the PvE community could deep dive this and put the community at ease.
If you need assistance, send me a DM I’d be happy to help.
It seemed like a cool animation in the background depicting meteor shower,
but the ones that actually hit the base were very few and they did not seem to destroy anything in 1 hit.
I think these vanilla ones which fall in the north of Exiled Lands are more deadly.
The stream itself was painful to watch. Sorry to Dennis, Andy and Nicole who all seem like genuinely good people. But I really think they need to approach the next one differently. It was extremely unprofessional and awkward and I switched off around the time the joke was cracked about watching paint dry. Because I know that was a joke but the fact is it was 100% true and it felt like an insult to viewers that we were being taken for granted. I know it was not intended that way, but I can’t think of a dev stream I watch for any other game that is this amateurish and under-prepared.
Tips: don’t piss fart around at the start, introduce yourselves and get straight into it, then follow a dot point plan.
As for the changes themselves, will see when it fully releases, but looks like they shoe-horned in some random stuff and forgot all about the Age of War. Seems more like an Age of Ummmmm…That’ll Do?
Fingers crossed that at least some disastrous previous changes have been undone. If not, I hope those modders who fixed the issues keep their mods available.
It seems the stamina consumtion changed, if I understood correctly, making the sword good for players too, @Croms_Faithful . It is one of the best 2h swords in the game.
I’m seeing some interesting stuff in the stream. Let’s see how it gets implemented. Interesting that they thought about a consequence derived from the the main event of chapter 3. The Stygians pissed a god and now there will be hell to pay.
All in all, potentially there is a lot of good stuff in there.
A few corrections would make it even better. Custom stacking should be kept, IMO.
The change made to dyes seems unnecessary and our friend @Croms_Faithful is unhappy with what they did to the Sword of Crom.
They tried to correct attack rotation individually in most enemies so they don’t seek us like magnets.
Some interesting corrections to stamina.
We will see.
I’m cautiously optimistic.
Tomorrow I’ll see the rest. I’m nearly falling asleep.
Bah, who am I kidding? I can’t slep without seeing it all.
Great dog. Now make it useful! The poor thing didn’t even scratch the ape and 1/4 of his hp was gone.
A decent palisade wall!
I wanted this for so long. That one made me really happy. Great tents.
Fantastic knight armor, if a tad fantasious. Very good looking horse gear. The caparisons look sweet.
The forlom set keeps improving. Nice. I use it a lot. A lot of of nice deco also seems to be coming our way.
Finally, the balista looks awesome and actual balistic trajectory of the bolt seems to have been implemented.
Good stuff overall. Definitely it appears to be an improvement.
I think the new direction is very…single player based. Fatality Blows, purge base defense, option for the aim bot auto face direction on attack (it is basicalky like qlock in pvp…look i am running one way. camera is facing 180 behind and walla! i swing at the chasing enemy with no punishment!)
Now you get battlepass xp just by doing normal stuff you do while playing. It isn’t limited to challenges.
I might actually not cheat this one all the way through!
You are imune to dmg while performing a fatality. Free iframes where you get your stamina back and 20% hp.
It might surprise you how much of it you’ll see in pvp.
There’s also the cool factor. On duels, I bet these will become run of the mill. A lot of pvp melee combat games have them without problems, so…
