How come every patch screws up the game for the modded community?

I think itâs unreasonable to expect mods to not break when an update is released.
Update or patch for crom coins?
I donât think the program discerns the intent of the change.
exactly
these little patches should not be causing these problems
its either rank incompetence or deliberate
Mods are not broken by the last patch. Broken is the Funcom procedure that handles all the mods on dedicated servers.
yes, agreed
and is it deliberate?
are they trying to âtake back control of the gameâ for the sake of the Bazaar?
If so itâs very foolish⊠and would be an indication of just how important mods are to this game. If FC was smart they would understand that a HUGE segment of their playerbase uses this game as the backbone for games they literally create themselves. Many private servers arenât even using it as âConanâ at all. This gameâs success is largely predicated on the ability to mod it. And weâre not just talking cosmetic items like armor, deco and entire amazing build sets. But the gameplay itself can be heavily modded and, in many ways, drastically improved from the boring vanilla game. So if the âthinkingâ is that theyâll get more sales from the cash shop if they break modding for the game⊠that would be literal insanity.
Exactly!
But what if they have made a business decision that the deco and armour on the Bazzar can make them money and that the wonderful items made by mods de
tracts from that?
I donât really understand it. It doesnât feel tested.
For a company of this prominence, it seems surprising that these things arenât more adequately checked for issues prior to release.
How can modded servers be so overlooked and seemingly unconsidered where this new double-pak bloat issue is compounding a number of already known problems such as the infinite loading loop??
That would be an incredibly stupid decision. The day I can no longer reliably play this game with mods is the day I quit playing it. Which means I sure as hell wonât be buying ANYTHING from the bazaar. And I know very well that Iâm not the only one.
