This has been a most entertaining thread! (and even quite educational in places)
Personally I’ve found there to be a good selection of different armour styles, and none of them have come across as particular kinky. I’d say overall it’s a good halfway between the dull looking plate and leather armours that you tend to see in more low fantasy settings, and the silly armours made out of paperclips and gemstones that seem to be the mainstay in a lot of MMO’s that are presumably designed to attract hormonal teenage lads!

@Sol - I think the differences with the wheel, etc is the armors, if you are playing by stats (like +accuracy for archers), are presented as the only options and are introduced at a very low level. The game does offer a fair number of armors but when played in-context there really is no choice at all. The broken armor system is partially to blame since it eliminates a lot of choices (again by stats).
So use the shemite armor, you will be covered from head to toe, and no longer be “outraged”.

An “it prevents a tickle in my naughty bits” slider is actually a fairly sensible option, from a censorship standpoint. Why do you want to censor a minimal portion of someone’s work product, Bosn? Will you ask Quentin Tarantino to reshoot Pulp Fiction?

I guess there will be more people with that opinion.
However, as I like combining eighter vanir medium chest with hyena trousers or darfari chest with black hand trousers… you might get I am not one of these people.
I think the one complaining in here should focus on those armors which arent too revealing or fit his tastes more. You cannot hinder other people from wearing whatever they want, so give that thought up.
As for not as much revealing armors:
zamorian booty armor (that light epic only one from feats)
Silent Legion
Hyrkanian heavy
relic hunter
shemite
vanir heavy
black hand (though no stats 
)
kambujan might be okay, as only the hip is free, else is fully cloaked
Which might be a no go for you:

vanir light
vanir medium
exile light, medium and heavy (too much skin and leather stripes I guess)
zamorian thief
hyena fur
These wont be all armors. Just pick one of those - and whenever you see one in the armor you dislike, just kill them. Think of them as masochistic people who want to get slapped.

@Alex02 I just adore the Khitan stuff. It’s the first light armor I’ve ever worn that I had no desire to dye. Plus you feel really fancy killing dinner for guests.

@Alex - There’s no “outrage” here, that’s your word. Mine would be more sarcastic amusement. There’s the fact that my friends characters had to dress up in these armors & play-styles to play and the implied sarcastic humor in imagining professional dev meetings at Funcom when these things were being discussed at various levels of design & implementation; nothing more.
I’m merely dumping feedback, more or less a group perspective on how we see the game at this moment. I don’t see the drama in mentioning BDSM when it’s the truth and accurate group perspective of how we see the game.

There are many armor sets that are not what you perceive as BDSM. This creates variety. Exercise your free will and wear some armor already in game that is not what you perceive as BDSM. I do not think FunCom needs to, nor should it, add a special variation for the armor sets that are bothering you.

I still don’t quite comprehend the mindset in regards to this whole discussion… game based on killing and taking slave with the possibility of giving yourself a giant schlong… it adds a whole new dimension to teabagging (was displayed by my boss with my unconscious body while I was offline. As it chocked on me Sunday roast) and with all that it’s the fact some armour is distasteful?? My mind is boggled

If you watched the Dev Streams prior to launch, you may have seen the project manager bragging about making sure they added bum holes on each animal and boss 
. I would have loved to have been there for the meetings!
You don’t ‘have’ to wear any of those armors, and 2/3 of the gear are not revealing at all.

As I’ve said, it’s more than the imagery. The level of detail in some of the armor doesn’t help but the character models, movements, emotes and lack of standardized picks add up. You can’t change a lot of it and though you appear to have a lot of armor choices it’s not the case if you’re truly playing the game. Many factors lead to a given armor set to be worn, most are the negative traits in the broken armor system (+stats/weather/armor) but if you don’t use the worst of them (visually), there’s still a lot of reminders in so much of the game. – So much so that it’s really absurd to suggest otherwise in my mind.

I agree, emotes on male suck. Flirt emotes are the same for female and male, it fits very well for a lady but looks gay for a guy (spank, squirm, flirt, come here, showoff, seduce…). It’s like they pick Age of Conan female emotes for the game, applied for both gender in Exiles and they didnt take the time to do the same with the male emotes. That’s how I feel.
Anyway nothing shocking or ridiculous, there is worse in age of conan (prostitute clothes to name just that), even in movies we see worse : Xerxes in 300.

When I was 19 I volunteered for MDA summer camp (as I had for years prior), but this year we ran short of talent. The recession hit hard then, we were skint, so the counselors and attendants had to make up for it. One of the best and most popular acts was a diving board stunt troupe, that rambled into the camp in a crappy jalopy with clowns all over it. Men in girls’ swimsuits, men with balloons in their bikinis, ladies with awesome fake beards and funny jumpsuits. You know, for fun.
So this year guess who got volunteered to wear a one-piece swimsuit with volleyballs up high? You know what, the kids laughed just as much as we all did, and it was tasteful as we all wore proper coverage beneath. It might not have been as grandiose, but it was a thing.
When we had Red Dead Redemption make us dress up in polka-dotted dresses during Undead Nightmare events, we had the same screeching. Some people refuse to let themselves feel embarrassed by what they’re playing on the screen because it represents them, somehow. I don’t get that. Gaming’s a petri dish, it’s not like real life, where someone might actually be surprised about who’s in the borrowed Mickey Mouse Brazilian, and that that long stretch of toned leg is actually attached to a man.

Agreed. All this entire thread does is make me want a whip for a weapon and a ball gag for my thralls. Also now I miss my see through starter gear in Conan Unchained. Cannot tell you how many times I’ve had to say, “Quit staring at my boobs and attack mobs please.”
