In everyone’s Opinion what’s something Conan really needs to add in I’m interested in what others would like too see
Settlement system that was talked about in 2017. Still waiting… hoping… waiting some more.
Armor stands, Crom themed goodness, the stoppage of re-using weapons and armor skins on new “unique” gear, give unique gear it’s own dedicated models.
trade!!! as seen in the movies of said character
Oh come on surely drinking sulphur infused natural spring water can only improve an exiles health
Last I checked they canceled all work on it but I hope we get it too otherwise I’m going to have to
Beat you repeatedly as I
Can’t do that to the devs otherwise it might not come sorry it’s nothing personal… ok maybe a little
Crafters with customizable clothes and dyeable buildings.
Offline single player
A lot less bugs.
Nudity…
But this is something I’ve wanted for sometime…
If we’re talking generally, what Conan Exiles is missing that it could really use is a coherent and focused game design vision. The game design decisions have been all over the place for more than a year, and at this point I can’t tell if anyone, inside or outside Funcom, knows what the heck is the vision. At times it feels like they’re flailing around, trying different things and abandoning them halfway through. Not to mention that the game is trying to please MMO players, survival game players, and whatever-genre-Minecraft-is players at the same time, and it doesn’t seem to be working out all that well.
If we’re talking in terms of features, it would be nice if they sat down and implemented a proper economy. Yeah, the game has merchants right now, but that’s not an economy. You can’t sell anything, there’s no proper currency (gold and silver can’t be a good currency when they’re so trivial to farm), there’s not even anything useful for players to barter with anymore. Adding an economy might not only help make the game more interesting for PVE players, but it could also help provide some in-game motive for conflict on PVE-C and PVP servers, other than “I’ll fight you because I can”.
In general, i think that covers alot of games, To many “Communities” of varying players play games… and each one wants it leaning there way.
Some people want 33% food/water drain cause Surv game…, some want 200% drain cause “Surv game”
Theres no middle ground. I think Funcom had idea… it worked, and then started listening to each group and lost focus trying to do it.
This! Precisely this. That’s what I meant by “coherent and focused game design vision”. It’s not a bad thing to listen to your community. In fact, that’s one of the strengths of Conan Exiles dev team. It’s awesome to see that they’re listening and reacting. But if you keep reacting to what your players say by coming up with half-baked solutions that keep getting abandoned, nerfed, or obsoleted, you get a mess.
This is EXACTLY the problem with PVP in Conan exiles. There IS no motive for PVP other than “I take sadistic pride in destroying your virtual sandcastle”. The motive for PvP should be something like: you control a powerful relic that only 1 clan can have at a time. Or, you captured my Sawmill/ Mine. Or You worship false gods and my god has deemed it necessary for me to slay other players or desecrate their altars.
I agree with you fully on economy, and I’m working on building an economy on 1880, but it’s an uphill battle because the game isn’t really set up for it (i.e. no “drop boxes”, no thesbians, event log doesn’t list container names (only what type of container it is)). I think economy is a small but important step, but not the only step. (FC, contact me. I already have spreadsheets on the matter).
I agree here. Funcom needs to sit down with “Survive. Build. Dominate” at the core and re-visit: “What EXACTLY do we mean by Survive? Do we want the world to be scary, but conquerable? Or do we want Dark-souls + Green Hell Level Survival, where you get sick from any non-pristine water source and have to pull leaches off of you?” These are questions FC has to ask internally and decide on. Personally, I think Funcom has almost nailed the survival pillar. A more dynamic environment (i.e. More stuff like the sandstorm) would be the only thing that I personally would tack on to the survival domain besides possibly getting sick from sulphur or murky water. "What exactly do we mean by build? Just a simple building system to build a house? A castle? A town? The steam page for Conan Exiles advertises Conan as: "An online multiplayer survival game, now with mounts and mounted combat, set in the lands of Conan the Barbarian. Survive in a vast open world sandbox, build a home and kingdom, dominate your enemies in single or multiplayer. (Emphasis added). The game is advertised as allowing you to build a home (checks this box so far) and a kingdom (no check box for Conan). Kingdoms imply logistical management of buildings and a hierarchical structure of people/followers, or a true concept of “Land Claim” Independent of Building Placement.
There’s more…tired of typing for now though. TLDR: Funcom needs to focus on how the game continues to be advertised, and the core pillars and say “this is exactly what Conan Exiles is. If you want something different, play with mods.”
Batman
Add onto the original map for future expansions. Where once you remove the bracelet, it lets you go past the Cursewall to the new zones north, south, east or west of the Exiled Lands.
Isle of Siptah is in South West Hyboria, West of Stygia. So anyone saying that the Exiled Lands isn’t apart of the Conan world, is wrong.
yes that could be very nice
-Mummy of the ring
-markets where you can trade basic materials for materials in big scales
-this: https://wallpaperaccess.com/full/2764620.jpg
-SHIPS!!! You can have different tiers with different properties (trade ships with plenty of storage room, ramming ships that are fast and can be used to ram into other ships, warships that you can equip different siege weapons with)
Sheathed weapon display on character back.
