:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Why not? Love to see my name on a funcom DLC map. Even if I wasn’t paid a dime.

Here you go. Put those skyboxes and terrain experience to work. As you said, the tool is out there:

https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/conan-exiles--modkit

You can even make the map have all the properties you’ve been wanting. You now have the opportunity to show us and FC what is a right and proper map. And then we can see by its popularity if its as well received as you think it would be.

Sarcasm really isn’t your media.

@Taemien ok, I just wasn’t sure how that works. I’m not a modder and I don’t spend my time in the admin panel flying around so high above the community I’m trying to relate to.

Turn it all off, brother. Take a break from it. Come out and play Conan with the rest of us mere mortals and try and remember why you fell in love with this game

To be fair, I haven’t updated my dev kit since Age of War came out, and I’ve not been a server admin for about that long. So I’m playing around in the game just like anyone else. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was merely explaining why certain requested features would be infeasible at this time.

This game is so confused.
Is it a survival game?
Is it a Fantasy MMO?
Is it a doll house simulator?

Now, being a blend isn’t inherently bad. Point of fact, they do quite well in implementation.
The problem, in this specific topic, more map, is they need to decide how they want to monetize and develop.

Personally, this one would prefer if they went the MMO route for new maps. The are paid DLC at first, but are added to the core game in a year or so. The paid part is basically for earlier access, and whatever extras are thrown in.

That said…
Siptah, from all internal reports this one has heard, so take this with a grain of salt as it is third hand from unverified sources, did not make the money Funcom was expecting. Given how very rough the lead up and test phase was, that would not be a surprise.
Siptah has many nice features, but also a lot of cobbled and half complete portions.
It’s also on life support now and not really supported much.
It has all but been put out to pasture.

Is it did disingenious to expect Funcom to keep up with Such massive and well funded dev teams as Blizzard, Bethesda, and Iron Gate?
That’s a prickly question considering they are the wholely owned creatures of Tencent.

The direction they seem to be going in is to (half) tweak the Exiled Lands map rather than add much new to explore.
Not certain how long that will sustain.

@LostBrythunian in the past I’ve said honestly many times that I would pay to play this game. But this new Conan is simply not that same game anymore.
Some of the improvements I do like. Like the ability to fight in the water. The animated healing process. I’m like 50/50 on the new attribute system. I feel like several GRIT based features got woven into AGI instead, which has created metas and I just don’t like metas, I like options, viable options. Authority is just shit, the very concept of it. I have never agreed with it and I never will. IMO the follower system has gone to complete shit just to try and make Authority a good thing. The clan treasure chests….uninteresting but maybe they will actually do something good with it. Maybe, not gonna hold my breath. The bazar I actually like the idea. I’m all about accessorizing and expanding my options. Problem is that it’s all over priced for the most part and just not that interesting anyways. If it was I would buy every bit of it, but it’s not. As for thralls I don’t do much mind the statistic nerf, or balance rather, but they did something else to them that I can’t quite explain and it has rendered the thralls pretty much obsolete. The thralls in my opinion were one of the main selling points for this game and they killed it….mind=blown like ā€œwtf were u thinking?ā€
Raiding. There is no balance anymore. The raiders have every advantage and the defender is a dumbass for ever building a base to begin with. Again, ā€œwtf were u thinking?ā€
Overall I think the actual pvp has gotten much better. I’ve no complaints about the actual fighting just the player builds that you do the fighting in. I do not like metas.
Other features they removed like the ability to craft more explosive jars from the radial dial….why did they take that away? Makes no sense.
I do like the new building system, much better than the old as soon you could forget the old way. Coz it’s completely different.
I absolutely hate how the cheaters/exploiters run rampant accross every official server now. Like the devs don’t care and zendesk is asleep at the wheel so literally the sky is the limit :joy:
And then these horses….why bother nerfing Teimos if they were just gonna replace him with these tank horses? They even took away the poor bastards genitalia….it’s laughable. I had to make the poor guy face the wall so the women would stop pointing and laughing :man_shrugging: It’s just mean. It’s more like Bugbite Teimos now.
That’s all for now.

I have some expertise on this I made perhaps the first full non mod of exile lands map pre siptah before maps were even supported, it took a lot of time, and wasn’t feature rich at all.

I did it across 2 weeks pretty much 11 hrs a day sadly it’s no longer functional and I don’t have the time (or will for that matter) to update it.

Mind you if a solo developer can make a functional at the time map across 2-3 weeks pre tool support a small team should be able to crack out something decent in about the same time.

Now more onto the meat of it would a new official map be good for exiles? depends, we don’t need a DLC split map, it would ideally be a map maybe people could transfer to within a cluster, and ideally you would want the map to be free even if a DLC gated some of the cosmetic content to cover costs ?
