After this long back and forth discussion, Ive come to realize that you and I are on the losing side of this argument. Your thinking here “no effin way”
But your suggestion was for Funcom to involuntarily name and shame people who got banned. We are both asking for information that Funcom will never provide.
Yes, and I had my friend who was on the server stream while playing so he could go around to my bases to watch things, and that I could see if things were blown up. If I had of been attacked or raided during the first 9 days of the ban, youre correct, it wouldnt appear in the logs.
My bases were never touched during me entire ban. I can say with 100% confidence.
Thank you both for your input. It’s important to me to understand how others are playing PvP, and whether their playstyles of choice persist.
I guess my inclination is like my relationships: I’m a one-woman man, always have been. Perhaps this has helped form my desires for playing Conan Exiles, “although I can choose from any server at all I’m faithful to one.” If you can excuse the musing, this is being playful about myself.
My thought process when I first arrived on an Official Server was I’m playing on a good friend’s server: how will I behave. After that I kind of kept playing as a good citizen who would KOS. Then we had the rollout and a lot of people found new “random” homes only to discover the same gang of reprobates from before the wipe were now setting up shop on the reused IP address. But ultimately I found one home server and stayed.
Why am I TLDRing? My belief is formed around what I think the Devs expect of us. If they had a God’s Eye and could see my little birdie trails on their official equipment, my actions would align with my story and acquit my behaviors. I believe they want us to settle down and attack/defend until either righteously spanked from the server, or too chubby with loot to care and thus move on willingly. It would be nice if they told us what they expect so that we would not need to guess while treating their equipment and software with respect.
In that aspect you could call me a serial refresher too
I do have what I call a ‘home server’ I’ve always had a base on a server I first ever joined… so far i have been wiped off it 4 times … 3 times by devs and again last week by said clan using one shot maces
I know what they are doing I’ve done it with groups of people before so I’m not complaining but there server hoppers and I can’t do anything to compete with them, therefore if they want to keep raiding an empty base I will gladly keep rebuilding it till they get board and have done what they came to do and raid everyone on the server then they will move along and I can live in peace once again till the next group come along lol
Not consistently. I’ve been suspended 3 times for land claim and my base didn’t get deleted one of those times… nothing worse than been suspended knowing the people that reported you are now raiding your base and there’s nothing you can do about it
You could, you’d be all kinds of wrong and just proving my point so feel free.
The number of people on a server doesn’t make a TOS violation not TOS violation. Why do you not understand that?
You don’t know what land claim abuse is do you?
No it’s more picking a fruit off an apple tree means it’s a apple.
The number of peopel on a public server makes no difference, why do you think it does?
And that wouldn’t be a land claim abuse report.
Then you would be quite wrong.
Funcom made us all their beat cops. Whether you like it or not it’s our job to make their job easier.
And I have yet to report undeniable TOS violation because I don’t want to be funcoms beat cop.
And that is the point you are failing to comprehend. That is just wrong and in and of it’s self a good enough reason to NOT post names.
I swear it’s like trying to explain red to a blind man
No, that is game play. Content is what funcom, or mods put in the game
I read those, seems yours are the only ones that carry on about some mystery crew that does nothing but server hop to report people.
Is spam reporting a thing? Sure, I blame it as one of the reason PVP gets so much moderator attention.
Is false reporting a thing? Sure, some one gets all snarky about what some one else said about them on the forum and report revenge.
And there you have it in a nut shell. That is the point you are failing to comprehend. And it’s quite apparent you never will.
No it isn’t and yet another part you simply fail to comprehend.
No it isn’t and yet another part you just don’t get.
Only if you’re color blind.
Most people are well aware of what emojis mean. I’ve carried on conversations in emojis.
Sorry not biying it. I have been suspended once, 14 days. And every ban i have seen on servers has had a deletion, except for a few placeables that were dorectly on map amd not foundation.
Plus 3 times. Seems to me it is a you issue on being reported.
Simple, and it’s been explained in the forums before.
If your base gets attacked, let’s same you put down anywhere from 3-10 bombs and detonate them, it resets the timer on the structure.
Does it matter if an enemy or your friend “attacks” your base to reset the timer?
Nope.
I have nice friends.
Edit: in my case, the bridge that got me banned was deleted. But it wasn’t a part of my base, it was linked to the timers of a couple wheel base locations which were deleted. They don’t fly around the map to delete every structure you own.
Every time ? So that once yes?.. mine was once out of 3 not one out of one …
I bring receipts… sure it’s like over 3 hours off footage all together and not 1st time I posted a link but it happened… yes we left him boxes of salt too because we knew the suspension was incoming as he bragged about it…
Base was empty but he still raided it while we were suspended on those accounts, but we were also back in the server on alts (because suspensions do jack ****) and I ran past while he was blowing into our base that didn’t get deleted…
A weeks time out amounts to the same thing. But ya, they will immediately delete the offending build.
You know what the second biggest reason I don’t play Conan PVP is? What I read in the forums by PVP players.
Like this example. There are just so many levels of wrong in that.
That is why I liked that zombie game; forget the name. You assembled crew; NPCs would random wander in to camp looking for shelter. You assessed their skills and either excepted or denied. You then worked you crews; once you leveled up, and level up the crews. Basically you go through all this to set up your compound to defend against wandering hoards, or other players.
It was very strategy driven, loved it.
Ha, see again it’s the “I’m right and your wrong even if you do the exact thing I’m doing”
No point in going any further.
I haven’t said it doesn’t make it a violation. Does one hold more importance or have more value in dealing with the issue? Yes. Do you deal with an issue that can affect 30-40 people or one that might affect 1-2?
Context matters.
Blocking areas so others can’t build. Nice try.
No, you chose to do that. They didn’t ask us to, or force us to do anything.
You can call it wrong, but information is the key to winning in PvP. Any information, and no matter how it’s gotten.
Yes because people run around on PvP servers for dungeons and emote notes. Content on PvP servers is what the player makes.
You nor I can prove that because we can’t see what Zendesk does. But weird how you can be so certain of those theories that can’t be proven yet somehow I’m dead wrong with my theory that people hop servers to report. Weird indeed
I agree. I’ve made many points that you refuse to understand and never will
Guess I’m not young enough to follow all the cartoon emojis the younger generations do.
Correct. Now if you have two structures and one is the illegal one it would get deleted. The second might not. Just like in my case the bridge was deleted as well as the two wheel houses that shared its timer. But our main bases were not. They were on separate timers
.
Welcome to online PvP where this is normal. You may not like it, you may diss agree with it, but that’s the way it is.
Because I wont build to brake the TOS?
Because I believe sportsman like conduct is part of it?
Because I am more in to the strategy then the brawl?
Because I would rather lose playing right then cheat?
So lets say you are a typical PVP player.
1: “Base was empty but he still raided it while we were suspended on those accounts” That is just wrong comparable to off line raiding and just should not be possible. I blame Funcom.
2: “but we were also back in the server on alts (because suspensions do jack ****)” and in my opinion that aught to end your time on the public servers. I’m actually surprised you confessed to it.
My 1# reason for not playing PVP is it brings out the worst in people. It’s the most toxic version of any game. But the problem isn’t the game.
Feel free to prove me wrong.
No it doesn’t and that is the part you don’t get.
Yes, that is a part of it so not wrong. But if you read the TOS it covers a lot more then that.
But they did, that is what the report system is.
Once again, tying to explain red to a blind person. “You fail to comprehend that you are failing to comprehend”.
No it isn’t, that is a fundamental concept you don’t get.
Are content.
them is game play.
The giant kings lore tablets are content.
The questing for them is game play.
The loot you take is content.
The raiding is game play.
Get it now?
Most people wouldn’t think it weird because the other two are well regarded as facts. I read reports of them all the time. Your theory has had scant reports beyond your own.
Never said you were wrong, just said it’s not the bogyman you make it out to be.
Name one.
Once again, I’m 64 but I do try to keep up with things.
Hey, lets all go jump off a bridge
There is no honer in this form of PVP.
Like I’ve said your normal is the second reason I don’t play PVP. Give me a hacker free BR and I’ll play PVP all day; have far too often.
If you have to hack to win that isn’t winning.
If you have to cheat to win it isn’t winning.
And neither is braking the TOS.
If you tell me you have to cheat to win “because everyone does” it seems like an excuse you’ve offered up to some how justify cheating.
And since I find it pretty low to have to cheat to win, I want no part of it.
Plus the base would not have been empty had we not seen the suspension incoming, we were all online when other clans land claim got deleted around our base, we saw it go poof along with our taming pen but not the base…
Suspensions usually kick in on server restart so you have time to collect what’s left if your lucky , even better I’ve been online when admin”support” delete the base but fail to do it properly
Will in our case they did. We were reported for 3 towers on Siptah. We built extremely high, not out, as it made the hacker we were battling for 3 months unable to see the IDs to teleport in on. We accepted the ban. But literally as one of our clan mates was climbing in the tower it just decayed along with all our structures. And next restart we were banned. only thing left were a few benches on the ground and thralls floating.
I think it might depend on how close your towers were to each other too. My base was maybe 8-9 grids from this bridge that got my ban. They likely just didnt see it.
I’m on my 3rd suspension… if you read the whole thread that was one of my main points … I’ve never denied breaking there pve terms and conditions that also apply to pvp. Nor have I denied that people use alts to stop those perma bans … my point in the thread to begin with… BANS OR SUSPENSIONS DO NOT STOP PEOPLE PLAYING OFFICIAL SERVERS and people get false reported for TINY infractions!!!
