Where is the Lore based gear?

I see initial gear is even worse looking than in AoC. Like burlap rags. Ok fine, but why isn’t it something Conan would wear? You know, a loincloth, maybe a tunic and the ever popular barbarian shagreen belt? Instead it’s pants and a shirt like some medieval MMO. Can’t someone read a Robert E. Howard Conan story and reproduce THAT gear in a game? Sorry to complain, but RP Conan very important so little things like this count a lot.

Oh well, I just bought the game and reviewing various how-to start videos so I have no hands-on experience yet (game downloading for the next day or two before I can play!). Tell me, is there anything better in the starting game than the burlap shirt and pants you craft? Like NPC drops?

There is a lot of armour in the game. Personally I even like the lower tiers most, like vanilla light armour and medium and really think that’s very fitting for the world. I actually like Conan Exiles so much because there is less useless ornaments and no glow stuff attached to armour and weapons (starmetal being an exception, but there’s only a little glow). Higher tiers of weapons look a bit stranger, like Dragonbone or Obsidian, but I recently discovered that the best swords at level 60, recipe gained from a dungeon, are just plain, elegant swords.

Also, here’s the armour list: https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Armor
And there’s a mod that makes npcs drop the exact stuff they wear (which is sometimes a bit over the top and might be considered cheating, even more at high levels. But immersion…)
