Whip Bindings Break Now šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Why was a durability added to the whip bindings? They didn’t have a durability and didn’t break and now they do. Kinda a waste and way to expensive to craft without the perk of not breaking. Pretty upset that little gem was stolen back from us.

ā€œFirst they took your modded torches and your black coursairs thralls. Then they wiped your bases and your pride. Finally, they left you to die. What will you do, exile, when there is nothing left to do but to live or die?ā€ :woman_facepalming:t2:

They have the right durability, but should likely have their crafting cost reduced to 3 durability.

They should definitely not be better than Bindings of the Dead.

The problem is when they were first added they didn’t have a durability at all that was the point in adding them on the battle pass. They didn’t break before hand and now they do so why would I craft them at all. I can just use chain bindings at that rate. Wasting fragments on bindings of the dead is also not efficient.

So you want the battlepass to be intentionally P2W? They were fixed to be fair

That was never the point of them being in the Battlepass.

They were added one way and yes I paid to get them only to have them changed after I paid. Idc if the battlepass is P2W that’s what a battlepass is after all and it’s being removed anyway. Again they didn’t have a durability and now they do so it was a waste if that was the item you were after. And yea it was the point or it wouldn’t have been added that way. It’s just people complaining because they didn’t get the item that got them nerfed.

It was a free item basically. But funcom changing stats on items is SOP any more. You can practically count on it.

Now I have it but don’t use it because it was done badly. If you’re going to give me a whip give me a whip, not a whip skin on a coil of rope.

I’ll just continue to use my chains.

That’s me too lmao. Back to chains. Them being a free item on BP makes it even worse cause everyone had access and still nerfed it. But the animation is the worst yes. Using the wrong end as a handle lmao :woman_facepalming:t2:

The rest of us care if it’s P2W. The devs have said on numerous occasions it’s cosmetic-only, and they don’t want to have any of the items be blatantly unfair advantages. If you bought something broken because you wanted it broken, don’t be shocked when it’s fixed.

You did catch the part where we said it was a free item meaning all you had to do was play to get the item right? It wasn’t broken it was intentional and what damn difference does it really make? Other than a couple steel each week. It’s not actually a game breaking feature that’s sooooo OP it should be removed lmao. Just a nice little gem that got complained out of existence

The Battlepass items are meant to be cosmetic in nature, not advantageous to regular in game items. As it was stated when they were being introduced:

The changes to other DLC, Battlepass, and Bazaar items to bring them in line is consistent with that policy.

How are we supposed to know it’s broken?
And you know as well as I if funcom did effective Q&A it wouldn’t have been released defective. This happening on such a regular basis makes one question if they actually have a Q&A.

Blatantly P2W weapons hitting the game with such regularity makes me question just how accidental it is.

Because items and recipes you pay for are not supposed to give you unfair advantage over base game items and recipes.

As others explained, the stuff from Battle Pass and Bazaar is not supposed to be P2W. Unfortunately, it happens often enough that they release a BP/BLB item that does have an advantage, and then remove it later. And when I say ā€œlaterā€, I don’t mean ā€œoops, we didn’t realize this was P2W, but we fixed it a couple of days after it was releasedā€. I mean ā€œthis has been in the game for literal months and we ā€˜fixed’ it now, and there’s no refund policy, so if you bought it only because it has an advantage then it sucks to be youā€.

Now, I’m not going to speculate about why this happens more often than it should or why the delay before the fix gets to be so long. There are many possible reasons and not all of them are nefarious. Since we can only speculate and can’t know why, it would be unfair to spread conspiracy theories.

However, the one thing you should take away from this is ā€œbuyer bewareā€. As things stand right now, the monetized items don’t have a rigorous enough quality control, there’s not enough transparency in the store to know all the relevant details of what you’re buying, there’s no refund policy whatsoever, and fixes can come months after you’ve purchased something.

If you want to be safe, always wait until someone else has bought an item and then see what they say. If the item happens to have an unfair advantage, keep in mind that it will eventually be fixed.

Alternately, don’t spend any money on the Bazaar offerings until Funcom improves the situation, preferably by establishing a refund policy.

If you aren’t yet level 50, don’t have a T3+ taskmaster, and get your hands on the mats it’s worth making a whip.

Because presentation mistakes after age of sorcery are ā€œviralā€:rofl::rofl:.
With all do respect my friend @PriestessAthena i find nothing wrong to have durability points in this item.
I am no fan of any binding, i use all of them.

It is unfortunate, but typical of how this game goes.
Anything nifty that shows up, especially if it is better than intended (and not having durability for bindings was definitely not intended), will be patched.
But only after everyone has had a chance to invest in it.

Don’t worry, the free to play world gets this all the time too.
Have you seen the most recent update to the Sword of Crom? Now the Sword of Crumbs.

The whip bindings are… somewhat silly anyway.
That’s not how one holds a whip.
That’s not how one uses a whip.
The whole item was interesting in concept, but implemented most bizarrely.

Flexile weapons would be nice, but as a binding it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

We will have to disagree.

The whip bindings can be made at level 30, and require no thrall to unlock the recipe. They have the same durability as chain bindings. Plus, you get so much alchemical base and layered silk from loot, it is rarely an issue to make or repair.

Well if it had been presented that way to begin with I wouldn’t have a problem with it but I mean they haven’t even updated the description to remove ā€œindefinitelyā€ Lmfao. It’s also not an unfair advantage lol. It’s not game breaking to have a rope that doesn’t break that you will eventually lose anyway. It’s just the simple fact that yes it was absolutely INTENDED to be that way as the description says and they removed it because noobs complaining about it.

Can’t have anything nice. I mean I remember when they removed the ability to mod your torches and then wiped everyone’s bases to get rid of them. It’s just not that serious to be wasting time and effort on removing it.

Point being they have time to go change the damn rope but can’t fix the Orb of Nergal lmao.
