Whip Bindings - Same stats as Chain Bindings but WAY more expensive

Chain Bindings only require 3 steel ingots. However, Whip Bindings require those 3 steel ingots plus 10 layered silk and 40 alchemical base. What’s the point of that? Both have the same stats. Please change this

Plus the whip is used wrong.

Perfectly good handle, but you just pull them like a rope while the handle dangles awkwardly…

I haven’t tried it, but just crafted it before your reply since when complaining I suddenly saw I have the exact amount of layered silk and alchemical base to craft it hehe

Doesn’t the description make it sound like it never wears out? Never used one so I can’t say if that’s true or not.

They have the same durability as the chain bindings, but I never used it long enough to notice.

Imagine my shock when I discovered that whip’s description is wrong and it does wear out

Yes it’s the same as the chain bindings but without the requirement of needing a thrall to craft it, and it can be crafted as soon as you have a torture’s table. For these reasons the added crafting cost seems reasonable to me.

I have a feeling this item is not correct, and might be fixed in a patch in some distant future…

Its easier to get a t4 thrall first than reaching lvl 60 to be able to craft layered silk

Yes however an added bonus is you can repair the whip in the field.

Everything required to craft the whip can be easy found in chests and drops with the new loot system. I personally had no problem crafting it as soon as I got my torture’s table. Regardless, if people find it easier to craft the chain bindings with a taskmaster, that’s okay too. My comment was simply to say that the increased materials required to craft it are (IMO) justified and no where near excessive.

Basically, it’s craftable without a thrall, as mentioned.

Oh, and the nifty appear-
Wait… That’s not correct. Why in the cluck do we hold these things that way?

So yeah, it doesn’t require a thrall at the tort station to bake one.

Forget Indiana Jones, we get Wisconsin Johnson.

It’s exactly the conversation i had with @Taemien one hour ago on another topic. These bindings should cost the same with chain and they should require a crafter, simply it should be just a skin.

Yes! Since some people don’t consider the price too high, this item is kinda pay to win. The best solution is to make it the same as its twin regarding cost, requirements and stats, as you said.

While this one appreciates the notion, if we are to base it off already, why not bindings of the dead.

This one is loathe to gate additional paid content behind RNG.

Also, the way we bake bread is stupid enough.
Why compound it by having an iron whip?

Silk and Alchemical agents are much more likely.

Mind you, if it had it’s own recipe involving leather and glass, that would be better from an immersion point.

But still, it’s all sorta silly.
Tell this one that no one at Funcom has ever handled a whip without telling this one that no one at Funcom has ever handled a whip…

I prefer Monterrey Jack.

I was so happy to see the whip bindings because my character is an adventuring archaeologist, and every self-respecting adventuring archaeologist needs a whip.

But it’s… not cost-effective, to say the least. And it doesn’t even have a cool whiplash animation when binding a knocked out recruit. So, disappointing.
