Why bother with Zendesk?

I have seen and worked with different solutions over the years.
After my recent experiences with opening a Zendesk report I must say this ‘solution’ is at best a pathetic imitation of a ticketing system.

I opened a ticket after having all my chests and workstation dissapear (Burglars around?)
and promptly received a confirmation that the Bug Report was received and the reference number - as you would expect from a ticketing system.

And that was the last time I ever heard from Zendesk.

After I found out, that you actually need to request a password to log into the Zendesk Website, I noticed that my report had a status of “Solved”.
What surprised me was the fact, that there was not the least bit of information on why and how it had been solved.
Not to speak of any information on a (potential) cause.
A follow up suffered exactly the same fate.
Thats not my definition of good customer support.

PS
Yes, I’m venting steam here.
After loosing everything on siptah due to those funny server merges, I’m not overly happy having all my stuff dissapearing on the exiles map.

Ya the last ticket I wasted my time to turn in took over a month to get a response and it simply stated hope it fixed itself. The previous ticket I turned in took 3 whole months to get a reply with pretty much hope it took care of itself.

Out of curiosity only…
Was your base located on the mount of the dead?

The reason you got the Solved response is because the bug you have reported has been reported quite a bit. If you gave great information on how to reproduce the bug, then outstanding, you’ve helped them get a bit closer to solving it. If not, and you did your best, then what you sent was appreciated. If you sent a message saying something along the lines of ‘game broke, fix it’. Well you caused fellow players to wait a bit longer before being serviced for other issues.

But yes, its a well known bug, probably related to decay (to my knowledge, I’ve never seen it with decay turned off). And not too much is known what exactly causes it. Or if they do, it will be fixed in the next major patch.

As to when you will get a response to when this is fixed, no they won’t do that on Zendesk for every person who reports in. They’ll do one news article for everyone, even those of us who have never used Zendesk once the bug is actually fixed by it being in the patch notes of the next update. Its a little more efficient to get information like that out.
