Why Do Star Metal Meteors Reset Timers?

The question is simple. Why do they reset the timers on bases when they hit? Now, for those who say, “No, they don’t.” Yes, they do.

I play on PS5 officials. On our main server, there are three abandoned bases in the meteor fall range.

One is up north next to the obelisk. As of this morning, it had 224 hours to go. The problem? The clan received a ban three weeks ago. They haven’t been on, because they can’t get on. They do, however, have lots of hammers in the air and fresh damage.

The second is built high up on the ridge behind Stargazer’s. This guy quit two week ago. All his other bases and thralls are gone. But, his base just keeps on getting refreshed, even though he isn’t logging in.

The third, is just below the Ymir religion frost giant. This one is nice, because these guys quit last summer. The base is mostly demolished due to meteor strikes, but about once a week a meteor finds a column or foundation close enough to reset the whole thing.

So, can we get this fixed? Can anyone explain why it happens?

Damage done to a base resets timers. Always has though I’m not sure why it’s like that.

They removed the exploit of the jar, not the mechanism. The system reads changes in the building so it’s refreshing the timers.

With that logic in play, I should be able to slap a building piece on the base and not have to wait for the system to register my presence to reset timers.

If that is accurate, you have saved me some time.

Would you please let this one know how that experiment plays out ?

I believe this works, at least the last time I tried it. Also, opening doors and chests.

Yes works thats how I reset my stuff lol.
Also, breaking palissades or mines on a claim resets the decay timer as well.
