We don’t know, as Funcom told nobody anything about this topic. I reported a base once since i play, where another player and some unique content was walled in, and this was resolved quite well. Base was admin wiped, clan suspended for a few days, not much harm to anyone. But the moderation of the official servers seems to be… inconsistent maybe, would rather not do it again because unforeseen consequences.
True… and that’s the risk you take if you have your teleporters open, which I do. I’ve had a small handful of people logged out crashed at my base over the years, but they’re few and far between. Typically relogging will fix it. I’ve seen other bases that not even that helps.
Inside is placeable, lighting and thrall-hell. As I said, the base is not huge (although his massive tower on the other side simply does not render in in this video). My own base on this server is tiny in area footprint but causes some lag because I made a home I would live in and it is quite open spaced, so I’m guilty as well I guess.
Oh what do we have here? PLAYER BUILDINGS THAT HEAVILY FOCUS ON ROLEPLAYING. Well that surely must not be against the ToS such as you claim now can it? Oh except for the fact that Funcom says the exact opposite of what you claim.
So as predicted, and expected, you haven’t made one single attempt to answer any of the questions asked in any way at all. You literally came into this thread for the sole purpose of stirring shyte. But hey lets end this here because you will literally have nothing of value to add (just more blatant lies and avoidance).
I’ll just respond with a quote from one of my favorite movies.
Its theirs, and if they fill it up enough, block enough, lag it enough. Everyone will leave and they and their friends can play freely and never have to pay the rent for one.
On other hand… they thought the village was cool and someone would go by, and be “Dude, this is awesome!” Cause a SP/Private Server… it go unnoticed.
I’ve built things on public servers for giggles, Had most of T-rex up over a river… just to do it.
I tend to go off path or edge of map so its not to much a bother.
I use to have a nice home in early days, with “houses” (all empty)
Its a 50/50 to me… I enjoy building, I also hate some builders. Your stair case up mountain feels helpful… some people do wanna work for it. XD
I remember back in day, this one guy had a massive base in the North… with 100’s of pets outside. (they can’t be place to close) So they took over most of north… and it took Ps4 a good 15mins to load any…if not most of it. Pretty sure people down block could hear ps4 fan going off.
Not true, I know you want it desperately to be so you don’t read so pathetic, but not true.
I am so fornicating sick of that same pathetic argument you offer up every fornicating time.
And here we go “I’m the victim, I’m the victim, I’m the victim” weak and pathetic argument and always has been.
Oh no. people don’t get banned for building the roman temple district. They get banned because some one else wants to build there. Guess what, if some one wants to build there, so report some one, they are going to be waiting a while. Unless they exploit the system which is a ToS violation.
I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but you seem convinced it’s the only reason to report some one.
Yes, that is why people maga build, they think they own the server.
Oh no, you don’t misunderstand, I’d bet you are living in some supervised living condition where you have rules you absolutely have to abide by.
And just where did you get that drakcab belief about sharing? That sounds like some only child’s concept of sharing.
OMG where do you come up with this crap. I swear you have some paraphrase filter between your eyes and you brain and it’s getting the translations wrong. That isn’t even close to what the OP posted
Sorry @Validusernam3 This is an on going argument about public servers and the ToS. Consoles may have it worse then PCs because of the limitations. But PCs have the same issues, so it’s not just about limitations, it’s about a build philosophy.
Not sure about unfair but certainly pointless. Oh I’m sure people would like something like Sons of the forest, just use predetermined blueprints, but even that game gives you freeform building.
So I guess no one wants to build there, they just want to continue not being able to play.
Unless you wanted to build there, then you’d be all over it, right?
No, most games have rules for public servers.
And right there you are wrong.
What a load of shirts.
And you’d be the judge of that right? And how many times have you been banned from the public servers? And why do you not play on them now? Rules you just do not care to follow.
And which console was it you play on?
If you build large enough to effect the server where you build makes no difference.
A base that wouldn’t violate the ToS way up north still wouldn’t violate it on noob beach.
Maybe
That took an excessive about of editing to get past the word filter. A few real nasty passages got deleted entirely.
True Funcom doesnt really kiss and tell when they do things, but if its still there, its either not breaking rules or no one reported it. No way its been there for years, being reported time and time again with no actions. From what we see on the forums, building infractions seem to be the most popular punishment Funcom hands down.
Yeah thats why I said a look on the inside would help, but Ill take your word on what the inside looks like, since I dont have a console to check it out!
Validusernam3 doesnt have to suggest that each individual player can build what they like, because that is the nature of every single game that allows you to build freely. Its that simple.
Wait, are you replying to this?
?? Because the current rule set we have allows people to build as they see fit. Valid comes in and isnt happy with the fact that we can build as we see fit, so I ask him for an alternative and why people should follow his idea.
This is going to be fun, because you clearly did not.
Walls and villages - This CAN be considered… which means it isnt 100% of the time always considered to be a violation, otherwise they would state “You cannot have walls and villages” Therefor, under circumstances, they are fine and allowed.
“The issue is not the size” - Size doesnt matter, so massive buildings are ok
“but the function of the individual buildings” - guess what I literally said where you quoted me?
Ho-lee ■■■■, its almost like I said that if the buildings serve a purpose, its allowed, and that if they dont serve a purpose, it isnt. Who woulda though that reading would help.
“Player buildings that heavily focus on roleplaying CAN often fall under this category” - notice the word “CAN”? Means not always, but it can be an infraction?
Before trying to raise your chin even higher, please attempt to read what Im typing.
Nope, I came in with an idea, or suggestion of how to eliminate building issues on consoles, since the game will never be properly maintained as it should be (optimized). You came in and the first thing you do is insult me.
Some things that are problematic on Xbox One or Series S aren’t an issue for Series X. Did you factor that into your plan for consoles? Probably not, as you don’t own a console.
Oh no, they clearly know and are proud to be part of the 4th you know what.
His opinion of everything is “I don’t give a fvck about anyone else, I just want everything for me”. You know… sounds like that whole…
Silly little dullard doesn’t realize just how much he is projecting when he uses words like that, one of the most self entitled people on this forum who literally never enters a thread without the explicit intent to derail it, talk shyte about the OP’s opinions (without ever addressing any of them directly because that would be too hard ) and just to be a complete arse-hole.
Meh, I pretty much summed up their reason for being here for them. Any word salad garbage they spew out to deflect from actually answering your question will be meaningless.
I made another video but then decided against showing it. The interior is beautiful, it’s consistent, you can see the effort in every corner and I really like it (the parts that were open to visit at least). It’s not offensive, no land claim, no bullying.
But the point (and the original question) is: Why make this effort and spend so much time for a PvE-Base on an official server and then don’t stop when you realize you go to far? You risk getting wiped by admin, can’t make a backup, and get probably no more admiration (or attention) from other people because they simply can’t enjoy it for technical reasons.
I admit that I myself play Conan Exiles sometimes a bit like a “Home & garden designer for elderly people“, pretending not to be almost dead yet by slaughtering foes who step on my lawn, but there is no fun in doing this at 5 fps.
Yeah youre not wrong. Id say people build that aesthetically for people to see and admire. Its far more then Id ever do, I build boxes, or in Conan, it was in caves, to reduce attack points. But thats me, and the next guy builds for their reason, and so on.
Why not stop when performance issues arise? Good question, and one that can only be answered by people who build like that. One could guess that they hope funcom optimizes the game, or fixes issues so it runs better. There could be many other reasons as well.
Oh really? Lets see. The OP asked about the mentality behind specific behaviors, and that was all. They simply asked WHY people would act in this manner and what their line of thinking is. Your response (in full):
Now I left nothing out so where exactly did you “give a viable solution to console lag issues”? Because it sure as hell wasn’t in your initial post, which was doing EXACTLY WHAT I SAID YOU CAME INTO THIS THREAD TO DO. So how you can turn around and respond with, “but your wrong because of something that sure as fvck didn’t exist in my initial post what so ever” and think that that is an actual counter argument is beyond delusional.
I don’t watch CNN and that salute was just a small thing on an other wise large list of much worse that you seem quite oblivious of.
Google paraphrase. You do it often enough you ought to be well acquainted.
Where did I ever say that?
I paid mine off years ago.
Verifies clulessness.
It’s sad you think that. Like I said, that is an only child’s definition.
You continue to prove you do not know what an assumption is. Because that is an accusation, not an assumption. You confuse the 2 quite often.
Its ok to keep being wrong!
Wait, you were serious with that?
Wow, my bad, I ignored it because I thought you were being sarcastic. I didn’t think you could possibly actually seriously suggest that
Trying to keep up.
YOU LIVE BY MY RULES.
And if I’m admin it’s not cheating.
Sarcasm, I am actually implying something.
I think the fundamental problem is Gportal servers.
On console I’d say developers unfamiliarity with consoles, or in ability to properly optimize the game for them, but talking out my hat there.
