Why is the Summoning Place so dark?

I’ve always wondered. Why is the Summoning Place so dark? I imagine it’s to add to the atmosphere, but why does it have to be so dark?

I just assume dark nature of what goes on there just sucks the light out of that place. XD

I was wondering, instead of summoning place, why the sinner’s refuge was so dark, barely a couple of torches in a cave?
At least I should have found people inside naked doing “bad things” ^^

It’s an ancient but still active shrine to an Old God where countless dark rituals involving human sacrifice were and are performed. Why wouldn’t it be dark? At the very least you’d expect the dark being to which it’s dedicated would exert at least some influence over the area.

Hmm, Yoggites eat people, including babies, but they’re not “bad things” ? I do wonder what “bad things” are then!

My “bad things” were simply an ironic censorship of un-writable words on a forum…
