Why was everything nerfed so heavily in Isle of Siptah?

Everything in Isle of Siptah is heavily nerfed in ‘Enhanced’ release. For instance ‘Great Sword of the Grey Ones’ was 84 damage, now 51 damage.

My clan mate tells me Accursed thralls are also weak now instead of superior quality. I can’t speak to this myself yet because I don’t have one.

However in scanning all the Eldarium weapons I have to say, why bother? They are all a joke with extreme crafting requirements. Why go to Siptah at all now?

You missed some episodes mate. Although i cannot play on the new version of the game, crafted recipes has been nerfed a couple ages now.

But you are correct to the point that it seems pointless to make the whole discovery and grinding for recipes, because it is .

It’s also Surges that became something different, a legendary weapon feast but less crafters and knowledge, which i don’t know if this is the case on the new version also.

But yea, Siptah had became just a different map location with nothing so special in the end .

yes they totally kiled siptah years ago and i hope inflexion will make it revive.

Now, with the merging of the maps .. it was for the sake of balance that weapons on Siptah had been nerfed to be equal to those from the Exiled Lands.

I can’t say I’m happy about it because there were weapons that were worth the trouble and the danger to get my hands on. Blood Moon Bow was one of them and when fitted with a Master Weapon Fitting there was nothing that could match its power.

Daggers of the Gray Ones was another favorite and there was no equal to the damage they could wreak on NPCs and other players.

But as I said, it was for the sake of balance. The primary reason was to eliminate an exploit used by players against their rivals.

Keep in mind, this does not cover everything that was “nerfed”.

It’s mostly on many games with online experience to “destroy” something so something else will “shine” . I don’t fond this behaviour regardless the game or Company that runs it .

I do expect in the near of far future some recipes to shine again, but unfortunately i don’t believe this nerfing policy will change also, regardless the complaints. It’s how they “easily” keep their games interesting for players years now. But the way it is right now , a large amount of crafting recipes that earned with risk or high grind seem useless and pointless .

Sigils. They are worth the grind on Siptah, in PVP you will lose them quickly but in PVE you don’t die as often and sigils effects nicely buff the character. Also different armors for illusion effect, and much easier farming. Plus surges are fun.

which is a lazy way for a company to manage a game, i nerf things and i do not want to hard wolk for balancing stuffs and i do not care if i loose contents and simply add new content making obsolete the old one. that not the good direction for me to manage a game as conan. inflexion seem to manage it differently, why i have hope with them, hope that i had lost with poeple that followed oscar the lead gameplay of funcom when he left for dune.

I dont think it was just about all that. While my memory is hazy. Im pretty sure that the “Great Nerfening” happened right about the time that server transfers were being introduced.

And I get it. Its great having objectively superior thralls and gear. But imagine being a player who doesnt have access to Siptah. And having clans transferring whole inventories of siptah gear into the exile lands. No possible way to compete and thus gets wiped out because now a clan can get into every fight and win every fight. Even the petty ones.

And I think its even more important now that some, but not all, can come and go from siptah freely now.

What a shame you can’t be in the new one with me, I hope that our paths will meet again.

Yes it is hazy mate  . The crafting nerf came to introduce the brand New legendary weapons update. Although some crafting pieces are still really good, this doesn’t mean that the plurality doesn’t remain useless and pointless. Not only on Siptah, but generally the greatest reason crafting recipes still run is because of illusion use on sorcery table …

Sad !

I dont know. I still feel like the fairness had a hand in bringing siptah gear and thralls down to the same level the EL. I mean can you imagine the yelling and gnashing of teeth all around the forums if siptah owners were that much stronger in EL thanks to server transfers.

I mean, if we really want to go down this road, we could easily have considered Siptah “pay to win”, and we know how PvPers in just about every game feel about that. Many Siptah weapons are strong and some of them are still meta despite some of these nerfs.

Bringing Siptah more in-line was a good choice. Who knows if they went too far on some things.

You’re not incorrect on this one, what i explained you is how this change arrived a couple ages ago, i didn’t disagree with your post or way of thinking. When Siptah released ,@CodeMage brought a conversation for thoughts of balancing the difference between 2 maps . Not a month after the PvP community will start the p2w thing like you said, which created many fire bowl conversations in here.

I do remember well , worry not  .

Thanks for chatting mate and welcome back to the game :sign_of_the_horns: .

until now there are still no Alchemists, Carpenters, Cooks, Smelteres, Sorcerers, Tanners, and Taskmasters in Surges…

like I wouldn’t mind trading off most of minibosses and their legendary drops off if it means we finally get access to those ^

I use legendaries and craft my own weapons and armor exclusively.

These are the core components of this game.

Siptah has some very good craftable weapons when used effectively and configured properly.
