Why would anyone want a Coin of Crom?

Crom cares not for the currency of mortals. Only a fool in the Conan universe would want a coin with Crom’s name stamped on it ! This coin would be an insult to Crom as how could a person attach the value of Crom to a mere slab of metal ? Crom would more than likely cause the ground to swallow the arrogant kingdom that would even attempt to mint such a coin…

Bro calm down. It’s just a game and Crom coin just sounds good.

On the other hand, Crom wouldn’t care about this foolish kingdom at all… :joy:

He wouldn’t until they placed his name on something as base and petty as money. It has to due with image authority and worthiness. Mortals are simply not worthy to represent Crom’s image or authority without risking his wrath for their arrogance.

Even Conan mentioned in the lore that worshipers of Crom don’t even pray to Crom because to do so would risk being noticed by Crom . It is not good to be noticed by Crom as you don’t know if you will be noticed favorably or smited out of existence for bothering/annoying the god.

I am lore ignorant. Hopefully a lot of lore masters here light this path for me. I can’t say you are right or wrong at all. I am sure that the company has the right to name the coins any way they like! They paid the right to do so and I do not believe it was cheap. The coins again are not “in game” but “in store” so they cannot effect the lore of the game. Yet…
It is not the first time I see a member here to be “offended” from this action, @Croms_Faithful is on the same route, he didn’t like it either. There for I support your cause , but consider me as a brother in arms, I don’t know lore all I can do is stand by your side silent.

Thank you. I think they could call them Aquilonian Coins or Coins of Aquilonia as that was usually the most powerful nation and therefore the most influential .

So it’s money that is only worth something to those that find it valuable and worthless outside of that and make those that cherish this worthless object the subject of ridicule…some how I think Crom would love this idea.

so they can give it away. don’t figure.

Its my understanding the player that gets the coins, not the character.

Yes that is what I believe they have said. But I think @Sairdontis is saying is that the name doesn’t mesh well due to Crom’s position on…well most things.

Well… I mean….

I personally have a small wood chest full of them…

Alternative name:

Derketo approves.

Crom doesn’t listen to prayers, but he can be bribed.

To invoke Crom is to invite calamity.
This monetization plan is doomed.

Not really. The only thing known of Crom is he hates prayers to him. They are for the weak. Outside of that, he really doesn’t care.

No it doesnt

The fact that they are calling it a Bazaar would imply that this is something being run but Turanian merchants. So the idea of using “Crom Coins” is just… dumb. There were far more appropriate names they could have chosen for either the shop to make it more in line with the coin name, or for the coin to make it more in line with the shop name. The lack of creativity is staggering to be honest.

Don’t be so sure :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:.

Yeah.

Where this Crom Coin fits into the Conan Exiles universe is a real head-scratcher.

I know the Key to Komedy is the K sound. So Krom Koin is a natural winner. Otherwise, I’m totally :person_shrugging:t4:

Well its not in the world… so it doesnt really have to be lore friendly. If it were called Funcom Bucks it wouldnt matter… now if you found crom coins in a chest, yeah I could see the concern.
