Will undead with witch doctor be permanent? Or did funcom remove all undead permanent from the game? Also can we craft sorcery in a bottle like what is in the battle pass?
With sorcery coming what going to happen to witch doctor and is that sorcery in a bottle craft able?
Do you mean undead you already have? I would think if you have a placed undead thrall it will unlive out its remaining days, but witch dr itself is being removed.
Per @den.
The access to learn the feat is gone and so is powder of corruption (removed from the loot tables). This type of necromancy is not compatible with the sorcery plan so that is encouraging that more is to come in future chapters for this age.
From what I have seen from @Wak4863 , it still exists if you have it already and you can still make them. However since you cannot make powder of corruption, it is going to be very finite.
Now if, say, I really wanted to ensure I have these, I would start mass producing these now. At the very least collecting the powder of corruption. I mean if someone was doing that you could feasibly have over 40 wights, 25 skeleton warriors, 7 legionnaires and 6 skeletons in reserve fridges within 5 days…not that i have experience in this or anything.
- Witch doctor is removed entirely, zombies are the replacement. They are temporary (several days) but are much, much, much stronger than witch doctor creations
- Spells cannot be crafted into bottles like the battlepass. The battlepass rewarded bottles are essentially a coupon for one free cast that doesn’t take a pouch.
How disappointing we lose permanent undead for temporary undead. This is a weak version of necromancer. Temporary summons are weak version of sorcery and magic.
But they last days and the two most powerful come from NPCs with 100% spawn points (beserkers for damage and RHTS for HP). Knock them out, drag them to the grave, summon the zombie, repeat.
From what i see, they are cool looking but I do love my legionnaires and monstrosities.
Witch Doctor undead are only permanent until a imp sneezes on them.
Uh oh bryan’s been sniffing glue again.
Yes, clearly the three-at-a-time zombies with over 10k health each are weaker than the single bone golem with 500 hp. I’d rather have good followers for three days than a terrible one forever
That’s just the thing, you won’t have the dinky little skeletons forever. The zombies will literally last longer.
Yeah, but the dinky little skeletons smell better.
So instead of buffing up the skeletons and undead they make temporary undead like most games do. These undead aren’t permanent. Fine for people whom don’t have a life outside the game or children. But not fine for a mature “adult” game.
“Adults” are generally better at understanding complex things like “balance”. They’re also better at processing and coping with the loss of temporary disposable things.
Depends on which definition of “adult” you’re using. Lots of “adults” running around these days that are no better than toddlers. And there are some places in the world where you can find twelve or thirteen year old kids that personality wise might as well be thirty.
May we please not tout adulthood as some sort of badge of honour when discussing a game of brutal escapism?
Vanishingly few actually care how many strands of silver are in this one’s mane, nor how long this one has maintained a credit score in the high 700s. As well they shouldn’t.
That said, the new shamblers are more potent but a shorter term resource. Seems the Dafari magics were paradoxically more sustainable while producing lower quality horrors. So odd considering, of all the groups, they would be the ones with the most left over bones of homids lying about and being refreshed.
On the other hand, perhaps it is a sourcerous preservation technique. The bones of the skele-bro are preserved so they can be boiled for stock later?
This one does hope they find a good way to bring those assets back into use. Seems a waste to just discard them.
There’s another way to look at it. After a long time of only having a simple undead system, they are working with undead again… who knows? Maybe later 3.x patches will have even more changes/additions?
I don’t see why we kill a thrall to get a none permanent undead. They could have made witch doctor thralls called minions and have a minion limit too. I was hoping to summon imps or succubus in the exile lands.
Not how any of that works whatsoever. Also, horny begone
Succubus and incubus would allow for more corruption.
Neither of those two things are canon in the Hyborian Age
They wouldn’t be particularly out of place though, and they are in Age of Conan, so I don’t think incubi and succubi are that much of a stretch.
