So here is an article from massively overpowered:

Funcom says Conan Exiles’ dev cadence isn’t impacted by Dune Awakening.

By: Chris Neal 20240712

Last month saw Conan Exiles do something that seems to be anathema for most MMOs and multiplayer titles: It decided to starting with its next Age and confirmed plans to reel back its content cadence in the interest of making higher quality releases. Naturally, this brought up several questions from the survival box’s community, some of which were answered by senior community manager Andy Benditt in a recent video.

Benditt first confirms that items from previous battle passes will indeed come back sometime in the future. Details on just how that will happen haven’t been ironed out, but he promises that players will be informed as soon as Funcom has answered that question itself. Benditt then confirms that players can look forward to new events, including brand new things to do and revamps of familiar events.

The final question asked whether development of Dune: Awakening was having an effect on Conan Exiles. Here Benditt says that each survivalbox has its own dedicated development team, that Funcom isn’t scaling back one team in favor of shoring up another team, and even confirms that Exiles got some new hires; the slowed content cadence is meant to ensure future updates are appropriately polished. Benditt finally closes with word that information about Exiles’ next Age will arrive this August.

So why do we keep falling through the floors? Apathy or Incompetence?

Neither. Unless you believe there is a checkmark somewhere in the devkit that says, “fall through floors enabled.”

There is an easy fix and a hard fix. They didn’t choose the easy fix because it would likely level our buildings on update. They chose the comprehensive route, which takes longer and takes more care to get the thralls not to fall through the floors and so that the buildings aren’t sacrificed (or otherwise glitched out to where they would disappear at some point).

Making threads like this is likely to simply get locked or ignored like the several other dozen before it. OP if you make 100 more threads, will the fix go in next week? What about a 1,000? Why not make 10,000? Make 100,000 threads if you think this will fix the issue in that way.

You obviously don’t believe that. But you do want a fix, right? Do you seriously want a fix to this issue, or did you give up on playing and are here to troll? Honest question, do you want this issue fixed?

I’m not going to give you the routine about sending in bug reports and all that. Everyone who would do that has done so, the rest simply won’t. So I’ll give you advice on how you can do your own little part. It will even be in the realm of protest so you don’t look bad to your fellows about being a white knight or whatever.

First, stop buying stuff. This is the worst mixed message our community does. Complain about bugs and then turn around and buy bugged stuff. This means Crom Coin too, that’s the main purchase you should avoid, since its the main source of revenue for those who already purchased the game.

Next stop looking at stuff. That means no opening the Batltepass (while its still here) or the Bazaar. Everytime someone looks, its tracked. It gives them information that someone is interesting in buying ‘something’ even if they don’t purchase something.

Finally, stop playing. This is a hard one. But this gives metrics on player counts and encourages monetary development. If the game isn’t too buggy to play, then it doesn’t need all hands on deck to fix bugs. If no one’s playing then they’ll go into emergency mode to get them all back. And yes this means not logging into refresh your buildings. A login is a login, no matter what its for. A mixed message. That’s a tough one, you’ve got to be willing to sacrifice your own buildings to really send a message. The decay system is a pretty insidious way of keeping player numbers up. The question is, are you a sucker for it or not? If you let someone grab you by the balls, don’t complain when they ignore your protests. Well you can. I won’t tell you not to, but don’t expect anyone to take it seriously. Especially the one’s with the grip.

The problem is the proof just isn’t there on any of what they said.

People still fall through the floor, orb of nergal isn’t fixed, intermittent issues with building causing inability to place building pieces (i get this pretty often, i go to place something like a ramp and it doesn’t accept it, but it will accept stairs. Sometimes you can’t place anything at all despite the repair hammer giving the all go to surrounding foundations and the sort.), Inventory menu Ui’s are in a bad need of a revamp everything about them is too hard to read, and the list goes on.

Heck on console i am constantly dealing with items in the first slot of my inventory becoming unable to be moved to the wheel or when the wheel does open to allow items to be placed they somehow don’t stick and i have to do it again.

As i said, the proof just isn’t there that they have not in fact moved their CE A team to Dune as there are just way too many issues left un addressed yet they find time to drop a tiny patch that basically says hey we are still here and that’s it.

I don’t know what to tell people to be honest, but for me, my money is staying put and what ever crom coins i have are going to just be spent vary sparingly as the likelihood of a refill on coins isn’t likely for the foreseeable future given this game seems to have no longer become a priority for them.

That’s not to be mean to those working on the bazaar and what not, it’s just the way it goes from a player standpoint, you show you are no longer caring about your product players stop caring too and stop spending.

No, I believe like many others that certain issues should receive the proper attention required to maintain a functioning system. Although your reply was extensive, it shined brightly with a white knights attitude which I have little need or asked for. I posted an article from a media outlet that conducted an interview with someone responsible. Putting this interview out in the forums for others to view does one of two things, assures the reader they are committed to making CE a solid experience or doing damage control because many people believe that is exactly what happened.

If you’ve spent money or even looked in the shop since Age of Sorcery Chapter 1, then you are more of a White Knight than I.

Out of the three things I have suggested you do, I am doing two of them myself. I haven’t purchased a single crom coin nor have I looked in the bazaar since Chapter 1. I still play the game simply because I don’t think the issues are serious enough to quit over. But the issues I do have are problematic enough to not make further purchases.

The falling through floor thing isn’t being ignored and its been talked about in various avenues by FC. It will be fixed when its fixed. Its not being ignored. And if you think they aren’t competent then find the development team you think is, and support them.

A clear answer without the usual attempts to appease, clearly to the point: “Do you just want to complain, or are you willing to take unpleasant paths and thus REALLY bring about a change? What are you really willing to do YOURSELF to change things, and where do you talk in the hope that your problem (once again, as so often in life) will be solved by others”?
@Taemien: a reply worthy of Crom! :blush::heart::+1:

Yes.

I believe that it is both.

They are also disconnected from their player base. And they don’t even play their game in the wild. So they have no comprehension for why these game-breaking issues are so frustrating.

Honestly - if they were truly connected to the players, they would have a revelation.

“Holy shit! It IS really bad out here! This is clearly unplayable. WOW! Now - that really says something about all of the players that we STILL HAVE who are grappling with all of this broken stuff. Holy hell. We need to fix this stuff ASAP!!”

I just wish they’d dish out bug fixes more often. New stuff every 6 months is fine to me. Bug fixes need to be released on regular basis. Especially when we still have game breaking bugs for almost a year now. My guess is even when they announce new age (god help us all with that one) we will still have same stupid bugs and we’ll 100% get even more of them.

Fixing bugs is not on the Funcom agenda. Sorry.

Yeah, it would be NICE if they would be dumping out bug fixes on a regular basis. But have you looked at the history of their bug fixes in the past? They often come with this little caveat of breaking other things, often to the point that they end up being worse than thing were before the “fix”. So yeah, it sure would be nice to get more frequent bug fixes. Me personally, I’d rather have more productive bug fixes that actually fixed the bugs they were intended to fix without breaking anything else. But I guess that’s just me.
