Well sad to see having clan mates quit. I can’t blame them like one dude just spent over 150 dollars build his base was gonna start decorating it then bam banned. And I don’t know how I’m suppose to talk anyone into staying. Dude got banned 6 years ago for mains claim when he had a 2kish piece build in a cave at ice Cavern. Worst part he tried to ask for a refund through steam, denied. Can we at least get an update things are being looked at?
I had almost 5k hours on this game only playing on official servers. I was banned 3 times and every time it was for land claim issues over common building locations. First I was built at heatstroke pillar and despawned a non-skull spider so I got a 7 day ban. Then I built in the meta keyhole location where the trash Npc behind the keyhole stopped spawning so I was banned again for 14 days. And the final ban still to today baffles me, I built in a tree in the jungle with less then 1k building pieces on the map and was banned again for land claim. Every one has f these bans was during then “can’t beat them, then just report them meta” was so glad to have offical servers back on this account. I spent $100 on Bazzar items just to log in 2 days later to find out I was unable to log back in. INSANE
I was also banned and it wasn’t even my fault for being in the clan. I stopped playing and was still in the clan when people got banned for building. I wasn’t even playing and I got banned. The rules don’t even say that if one person builds too much, everyone will be banned for their mistake. So, because of one person, everyone pays for the mistake. With all due respect, there were moments in the game when Funcom itself didn’t even check if it was wrong or not; they just gave bans and that was it. It could be for building, for talking in chat, or for anything. I say this because I heard several people complaining about it on YouTube. I still think you should unban the accounts of those who didn’t use hacks, and ban those who did. We are in a new era of Conan, let’s give people a second chance.

I got unbanned!!! After 8 years, just for walling off a few things on an official server in 2018!!!
So, after my ban, I sent an unban request with the link to this conversation, and the next day, the guy (David.M) replied, “Oh well, no, due to your violations, you remain banned!”…
I sent another email saying, “Hey man, do you understand that we’re going to court? In court? That my lawyer has been notified? That there are hundreds, maybe thousands of us who paid for nothing? We’ve been robbed, and it’s completely illegal. Do you understand that?”…
So I asked for all their 2018 rules and the exact reasons for my ban to send to my lawyer…
And then, this morning, as if by magic, I received an email:
"Greetings XXX,
Thanks for the additional details.
We’ve reviewed your appeal and removed the ban from your account. You should be able to access Official Servers again after the next server restart.
Please keep in mind Repeated violations of our community guidelines may result in further action being taken on the account:

Seriously? So I was banned for life and now I have to threaten you, Funcom? No other choice???..

FUNCOM: I’ve always supported your games since 2008, but please, take customer requests seriously. I still haven’t received the reasons for my ban, and I’m not even sure you kept the evidence after 8 years! This is really unacceptable… We invest a lot in you, take requests seriously and analyze them better. Your guy (David.M) didn’t even read my first email threatening legal action. Is that normal???..

Ban and analysis requests are handled by one or two people, without the necessary skills, who don’t even read the emails, even if they contain a threat of legal action.
When you’re not 1000% sure, you don’t issue a permanent ban! You don’t imprison people for life without a trial either! (Although it does happen sometimes…).
Please also set an automatic unban time limit; after 8 years any other publisher would have already unbanned users… Set it to, I don’t know, 2-3 years for unbanning…
I want to emphasize that your abusive PERMABANs won’t change the fact that thousands of cheaters are currently ruining the game, and that even if banned, they’ll just create new accounts… So STOP the PERMABANs for blocks already!!!
Another point: I think that simply imposing a one-day ban, then doubling it, would be more than enough for players to understand, because they could quickly lose their bases… Review your rules; they’re too complicated and vague. For example, is a discriminatory insult a lifetime ban? Oh yeah, so a misogynistic joke gets you a lifetime ban??? Dark humor banned for life???.. The admins don’t check anything!!! A report from the other side is all it takes if you make a bad joke, and you get a lifetime ban??? Please simplify your rules!!!
Regarding the servers, it’s complicated, yes, I know, I’m a developer too, and it’s no better elsewhere, just look at Star Citizen and others, but managing bans is something one guy does without any skills! It’s your responsibility and your prerogative; it’s not about thousands of euros invested here like in the servers! Just establish clear rules without being abusive.
I would have liked a fantastic exit, full of compliments and beautiful pictures of our bases, instead of this pointless conflict.
I hope we can now start over on the right foot, and that I don’t find myself facing permanent bans again when people are innocent!

Another point: if you update your rules, it concerns the Clan rules. I’ve been reading everywhere for the past eight years, but where are the exact rules for Clans?
Many players have been banned because they were in a Clan, so they paid for another one. It’s just completely ridiculous!
For FUNCOM, this is a quick fix: someone causes trouble? Ban them immediately, along with their entire family, including their cat and hamster—all locked up for life!
FUNCOM is great for its Conan games, but the moderation is worthy of a computer novice. Sorry, FUNCOM…

- Read emails (even with the risk of legal action against you)
- Know how to unban a player!!!
That explains why there are so many unjustified bans. He opens a ticket in the morning, has his coffee, gets a random lifetime ban, and then he’s off back to the café… Open an investigation into this guy!!!

Mistakes happen, that’s normal, but this is way too many in just 3 days!!! Fire him for professional misconduct. Having dealt with incompetent people, the worst are those who hate their company. Does this David.M love FUNCOM or hate you???..

FUNCOM, this is an emergency!!! If all of us former banned users lose our Bases, we’re going to demand massive refunds starting next week!!!
I am afraid there not only 1 man who doing wrong things. I was forced (by funcom) to play from many accounts because pvp ban meta, and received same answers to my ticket from different ppl in their support. It’s not a mistake, it’s their support system. It’s a rotten system, completely divorced from reality and concepts like fairness. Their business model is to ban you so you can go buy another copy of the game. As a result, many people on PvP servers have 10 accounts because wars are going on and there’s no time to bother with account bans. It’s essentially a scam.
I don’t think FUNCOM is that bad… Being real mafia-like, banning people en masse for a few bucks. Why else would they have made the UE5 version free then? We were 50,000 this week; they could have made a ton of money here!

When I played for those three days, the servers restarted at least once every day.
Now I’ve tried connecting to 20 official servers, and NONE of them work. There’s definitely a problem…
Yes that’s the normal reset scheduling, all Officials should be resetting once per day usually around the same time. Either you have to be online to see when it happens or you can look in logs to determine the time, normally.
Any suspensions and ban actions are input along with server changes to be done at the server reset time. If you’re unbanned, it doesn’t happen instantly. It COULD be that they’re dealing with multiple issues and want to complete them before an update for the servers you’re on. Additionally, while they’ve been working additional hours including weekends since May 5th, it could be that the update for you won’t happen until Monday (depending on your location).
I suggest responding to the ticket, let them know it didn’t happen like it was supposed to, if you have not already. Keep on them, politely. As much as this is a huge problem for you (I totally get it), the service team are dealing with A LOT.
That’s not my problem. They’ve taken thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of euros from people to ban them. It’s up to them to set up an emergency service. That’s how we do things in my IT company.
If nothing happens by Monday, then I’ll demand a full refund for all my purchases, and this whole story will be sent to the media for front-page news.

Normaly Ticket time is about 24-48hours for simply problem. Here guy David.M do about 7-10 days minimum!!!
I am aware of your original post and I agree it was a very poorly done exercise to unban everyone and then surreptitiously reban everyone. I know many who were affected by this and indeed purchased BLB/DLC during the brief period.
However, I am responding specifically to your situation where they have lifted the ban.
I am not saying they’re doing everything correctly, what I am saying is that now they have lifted it in the email and you have proof of their intention, get on them about it if it doesn’t happen when expected.
As an aside, the ToC, suspensions and banning have been a humongous interest to me as I’ve been suspended and my friends have been affected by the system.

Why you was banned? 
Once for blocking pathway (prior to 2021 ToC revamp) and another for building reasons which I am still unsure as to the actual reason, no explanation was ever given. If we go based on behaviour, that means I am 1 suspension away from permanent ban on my main account that has all DLCs and now has some BLB.
My friends were in similar boats, all landclaim/building issues and 3 were perma banned when I was on my second suspension. Later, FC perma banned the account of a friend for “hacking”. I know we don’t know each other on here; there’s plenty of post history about my interest in cheating as well, but as someone who has never hacked and won’t tolerate that shit in my clan (I’m usually clan leader)… it was laughable but very sad, even hurtful because we have gone to great lengths (like many others) to deal with hackers.
The banning that happened from 2021-2023 really shook the Official server community. Now there’s safeguards in place on FC’s end to prevent spam reporting, but nonetheless, unless everyone who has been banned for actually bad shit, it was nice to believe there was a fresh restart available. Now its been totally ruined by the rebanning, sucks.
This is all extremely harsh… All these lifetime bans for a few blocks…

Sorry Funcom, but this needs to be said! I’ve done moderation too, I’m also a developer, you can’t just hand out permanent bans willy-nilly, risking banning everyone in the end!
Just doubling the ban times is more than enough! No need to go to burn people’s houses or put them in jail!
