True. But then a lot of the recent stuff operates as if CE was a F2P game, rather than a game with around ~100$ worth of buy-in just to get all the pre-3.0 stuff.
Well this is answering one part solution. But its still odd thst they choose to paywall off dlc in such manner if it was something like untradable sytem in the first place like say a mount tab or an fashionable tab that would be fine.
Funcom should also consider this their item table is getting quite bloated maybe they can revisit ways to compound mesh asset better. But for better or worse it may just be better to ditch the item crafting game to just skinnable armor type and let us have core item upgrade like socketable stat for armor.
Apparently the statement wasnât clear to everybody
So let me translate - at least based on how I understand itâŠ
(You know how with the illusion system we have stat items⊠and illusions, right?)
What @den said was the following:
Once their update goes outâŠ
If the stat item is an item your character could normally use because itâs either part of the base game or you ALSO own it⊠then it does NOT matter what illusion it has, you will be able to use the item no matter what, and it will simply show up without the illusion in case you donât own the illusion item.
Coincidentally though (through the use of âas long asâ implying an exclusive case) that also means if the stat item is something from the BP/Bazaar that is an actual craftable and usable item - like a proper weapon (and not just a weapon skin) - that your character does not own, then you wonât be able to equip that.
This second part I feel needs more clarification⊠will they be able to loot such items? dismantle? do anything with?
Let me provide examples for the first part:
For example if your character only owns the base game and the Yamatai DLC
- You would be able to pick up a star metal katana that has any Bazaar / BP / etc. illusion on it and it would simply look like a standard star metal katana when you use it.
- You would be able to pick up a Yamatai katana with any illusion on it as well and it would look like a standard Yamatai katana in case you donât own the illusion item
The following two are a bit more âshadyâ and subject to the âmore clarificationâ part.
- (This is me hoping they donât apply this change retroactively to the old DLC items in which case:) You might be able to pick up a Khitan sword illusioned as anything too
- You would potentially? NOT be able to pick up the Katana thatâs currently in the Bazaar (I havenât bought it so I donât know if itâs a weapon or just a skin, but Iâll assume itâs a proper weapon) even if it was illusioned to look like a standard star metal katana - because you donât own the base item.
Thatâs what I gathered from that statement by Dennis above
if itâs wrong, Iâm sure heâll correct it. Would love some clarification on the âunsureâ portions though
The way I read it was that the illusion will still be on the weapon, however you will not be able to see the illusion while using the weapon unless you own the dlc skin illusion yourself.
Agreed, I would also appreciate more clarity on this as well just to certain going forward to prevent ANY type of purchasable advantage now or in the future of the game for fairness sake.
Yep, i just dont want to play anymore with paywall loot around, so me and my mates quit until some things (if) are changed
Im not against skins and decoratives for reasonable prices (compare to old DLC packs), but i wouldnât change my mind on that, only privilege you should have buying stuff - ability to craft\repair it, NOT using it
I and my clan mates alos left the game because of the decision to lock loot after all previous dlc could be looted is just an insult.
If they decide to not lock loot we will return (i Doubt they will)
For a game like this where looting is a main point of the game if you cant share gear with clan mates is ha huge turn off
Ill admit i didnt read most of the comments, but if fc wont allow players to have something they didnt buy, then atleast a way to despawn said items would minimaly be the way to go⊠id prefer it it atleast gave resources for making said weapon.
@den already answered the OP so anything after that is just a big tear being shed. Also do us all a favor, if youâve left the game, leave the forums please. Your feedback is now meaningless, since you do not play the game any longer.
Um, Excuse me? I think your talking to the wrong person. Did you even read the post if its me your trying to talk to
Been on mostly every day, and am enjoying the majority of it. Thats why i havnt been on forumns as much. Never ran across the issue, bought the armor sets that have been up, why? Beacuse theyre 6$ and look cool, its the $20 dollar tables and 5-8 dollar single items im not happy with
Pvp looting should never be fd with
Nope, was not you, you are just the last reply so I used you.
Gotcha, ![]()
Do you feel used sooo used
had too.
No choir boys in Conan, but we do have priests and some of those are quite fetching.
You should be safeâŠyou didnt call out beta tesâŠnevermind.
Being a beta is a hard job, and at the end of the day just know Iâd never have gone along with it. Siptah was a strain of the imagination, this would be a full stop no.
Equity and sharing, whether itâs building pieces or knowledge, has grown its own ecosystem in even the worst of servers. I hope Funcom can reverse this, and soon. ![]()
definitelyâŠ
i can hardly accept restrictions of structures and placeables (according to new building system)
but locking gear is 100% unacceptable
I came back to this thread because I got excited buying the new Aesir armor for me and my wife to use to then realize, she canât use it unless she buys it too. What an ass backwards direction to take this game.
Its a shame devs and artists wonât just work for free and wonât voluntarily give up a paycheck so that one person on a server can buy and build all the things and give them all away for free.
No one is asking for free items. Nice straw man. Also, this isnât an indie company, its Funcom, they got multiple IPs and the game isnât free. You gotta buy the game to play. It isnât overwatch 2, them monetizing makes more sense.
Because obviously that happens all the time. Nobody ever buys anything now that Tim bought it for all of us and we all go where he goes and share.
Oh, wow, hyperbole sure is fun! Now I know why you do it all the time!
